April, this was Jerrick's favorite time of year. No one made a big deal about his birthday quite yet and winter was over. Jerrick was a spring baby, he was born in May, he liked the warmer weather at this time of year. Spring was the time when the weather wasn't frightful and the world wasn't full of snow or too hot. It was the time of year that the weather was perfect. Spring and fall those were the best times of year for him.
Today was going to be a day full of work. He was due to be there from early in the morning to late that evening. Today was going to be another day of work. He'd woken up at the very crack of dawn and got himself ready for work. He dressed in his healer robes before leaving for work. Since it was spring he could take a nice walk to work and later in the evening he could take a walk home. He pulled on a small messenger bag that he used to carry books and notes that he could possibly need while he was at work. The trek to work was nice and easy as it always was. He was just glad that he wasn't planning on heading out for any parties any time soon. The last time he'd been out and about he'd managed to meet his lovely cousin Cinderella at Magical Mayhem who was drunk and attempted to come on to him. He shook his head at the thought.
Once he got to the hospital he went up to his floor at the hospital and set up in his office. He dropped his bag down and grabbed a quill and some paper to write down a few notes and he looked at what cases he was going to have today. His deep brown eyes scanned the papers and then he left his office and went to the nurses station. His cases showed that one of his nurses would be Adelaide Brandt, he'd worked with her once or twice before, Addie was what she went by. He was going to find her so they could get started with the day.
He asked a nurse where she was who in turn said she would go to get her. He liked Addie because she was good at what she did. One could easily say that she was a very caring person. He smiled softly as he waited for her to get there.

-------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------stitch by stitch These were the type of days Adelaide was thankful her place was within walking distance from St. Mungos- where she worked very proudly as a nurse. Most spring days were beautiful (even when it was raining although Addie preferred the sunny days over the weird mood rain seemed to bring), but this particular day seemed better than usual. Where there was a small hint of a wind. Just enough to make it enjoyable. For someone who enjoyed those little details in the day, the day was almost perfect. Uniform on, she left a little earlier so she could take a little more time in getting there. Getting up a few minutes earlier wasn’t all the matter to her if it meant she could go through mornings like these. She took a deep breath in and a light smile appeared on her face. She wished she wasn’t stuck inside all day. While she loved her job, she couldn’t say it was absolutely perfect. Just rather close. If it was all fun and games all the time, it wouldn’t be a job, would it?
Walking through the doors, she went immediately to the nurse’s station. One of the biggest differences between her and most nurses was she worked all the stations. The job was relatively the same in each one. The only variation was the mood your patient was in. Still, you checked for the same signs. Poisoning and spell damage wasn’t different at times. The same eye check for unnatural signs the skin might break out with. Her job certainly wasn’t boring. Sometimes, she still felt like the first year entering the magical world for the first time. Amazed by everything she set her eyes on. If her world had the technology and capabilities this hospital had, think of all the diseases they could cure. However, she was sure the ministry didn’t want that much publicity. She wondered how many people have tried it. Might have been the only way you could get her to break the rules.
Looking at her papers, she saw she was working in poisoning today. One of the healers she recognized rather well, having worked with him a couple of other times on occasion. Addie hadn’t decided how she felt about him yet. It wouldn’t ever be negative- no, but he seemed… oh she couldn’t find the word for it. Mysterious? She knew some of the other more giddy nurses liked to talk about him, but no one seemed to know much about him. Which was curious. In this type of environment, people got rather close to their coworkers. Maybe it was a general trust thing or bonding over saving others in need. Who knew. Whatever her thoughts might be, she was informed by one of the other nurses she was expected. Quickly and delicately, she fled over to where she needed to be. She saw him and gave a small polite smile. ”Morning!” her voice dainty and soft, but enthusiastic, ”Who do we have today?” But ever so professional.

Jerrick was busy looking at a clipboard of information as one of the other nurses went to go get a miss Adelaide Brandt. It wasn't going to be an incredibly busy day but he would never speak that out loud because that would cause a jinx to happen and then they would become busy. He never wanted a busy day and it was not because he was lazy it was because if he was busy it would just mean that it was that many people who were not feeling well. He worked his job because he loved people and he definitely didn't want to see them.
His brown eyes looked up when the nurse came up to him. ”Morning! Who do we have today?” He looked back down to the clipboard. ”Do you know Mr. Kerr?” he asked her softly. Mr. Kerr was a regular in their area. He was another one of those nutcases who liked to experiment making poisons. Typically he was a rather hard case to work. He had come in over night and they had stabilized him but he really needed to be checked out by someone who specifically specialized in poisons. Maybe it was Jerrick's own need to dabble with poisons and cures that helped him with his job. He thought about these things a lot during his free time.
Jerrick didn't share too many words about what was outside of work with his coworkers so he didn't have to share anything that he didn't want to. Some people didn't like that about him. That was going to be okay with Jerrick. He wasn't here for people to like him. He was here to save lives and that was just what he was going to do. ”How are you today?” he asked her. He was good at small talk, he'd always been good at small talk. He would normally try and keep a conversation off of himself as much as possible. It was kind of a wait and see type of thing for him. He needed to get to know people before he let them to get know about her.
