Fifteenth of August, Two Thousand Twenty-Three.
Seems like I haven't wrote in this journal for ages. It's been quite an interesting summer and there is so bloody much to tell. So... where to begin? I guess the most suitable place is at the beginning of the summer. It was off to a great start as I passed all my classes. Muggle Studies was a close one, as I thought the project for that was going to be the death of me. Prof. Kelith was a major help there though. The man is smart and wicked handsome too I might add. Admittedly a brief crush on him, but nothing serious.
From there, we move on to the school trip to Rome. I had a blast there. First off, there was shopping like a mad woman with my roommate Lyanna. She's been a brilliant friend and more than worthy competitor out on the Quidditch Pitch. With any luck, one day we'll play alongside one another as opposed to against each other. Well, that is if she decides to join the Wasps as I am. As I've written in this journal a thousand times, it's my dream to play on Ginny Potter's team some day.
I also had some fun with my then boyfriend Asher on the same trip. It was quite romantic, including a rooftop picnic. We snogged a bit too, which was nice. Rome is certainly one of the great cities of romance, and there was plenty of it. Asher surprised me a great deal as well. I remember when i first talked to him in the Hufflepuff Common Room. He was a bashful bloke and I didn't know if we'd ever hit it off. I suppose we did after the date at the tea house, at least in the sense of making it official that we were boyfriend and girlfriend.
Sadly, the little lovefest didn't last. Shortly after the trip, Asher and I had that "little chat" and long story short, we decided it was best if we remained your average mates instead of believing we were soul mates. I think the actual break-up went smoothly enough. But afterwards I felt like utter rubbish. I think my parents though I had become ill, moping about instead of being my usual chipper self. I'm surprised my dad didn't take me to St. Mungo's for a check up. That would have been fun to explain to the healers.
But, with every dark cloud, there's a bright sun hiding behind it... or something cheesy like that. I was drowning my sorrows at the ice cream shop in Diagon when my best mate Roxy Weasley happen to come in. Roxy always cheers me up when I am down. She just has that energy about her that wipes away all bad in the world. And this time she topped herself. She told me about this fellow playing for the Arrows that I had to meet. And once I got over how sick I was from all the ice cream I ate, I listened to her.
So Roxy takes me to the Pitch and introduces me to this absolutely yummy rugged Adonis of a man named Austin Kirke. Within the hour, we hit it off. I found him to be perfect. He loves Quidditch, he loves animals, he's smart, he's funny, he's sexy... and finally he has a fantastic bum! A woman could get hypnotized by that bum when he walks around. Easily at the top of the list for the best ten bums in history. Anyway, I feel in love with him from the start.
The first date was amazing. We had a great lunch, then we went to a Muggle movie theater and watched a weird but entertaining musical called Hairspray. I still have some of the songs stuck in my head. I also discovered that the old musical film The Wizard of Oz was based on a book. I wish i could have met the nutter who thought Wizards and Witches were like that. Whoever heard of a bloody witch being green all the time? Anyway, after the movie Austin met the folks and we have a delightful dinner together. Mum loved Austin, and while I think dad is being a protective dad, he liked him well enough too. And of course by now, we've gotten to the snogging faze of the relationship, and he is such an incredible snogger. Oh how I melt every time my lips touch his. Just... wicked yummy!
So... the plans for the rest of the summer now? Well, there's the big annual end of the summer pool party that my parents let Peter and I throw. They're always a blast, though sadly this will be the last one for me. Not that I'm done with pool parties all together. There will be plenty. Just that this one was always really special.
Finally, plans for my last year at Hogwarts. Well, I'm going for Quidditch Captain. It's a close one for Vin and I, and I'll be happy if either one of us gets it. Vin is wicked talented after all, and I couldn't ask for a better Puff to lead the others with. I just hope we can really make up for last year and give Hufflepuff a good showing on the Pitch. Our House really needs those wins. I would love to especially make Jasper proud when he comes to watch us.
Then there is of course the Care of Magical Creatures Club. Anya is going to be sorely missed this year. I hope we can all carry on the club as well as she did. It will be loads of fun no matter what, even if it's just us sitting on the lawn and chatting while he eat cookies and play with each others' pets. I know Amadeus always enjoys being out there. If only I can get him to stop complaining we he sees me at Quidditch Practice.
So that's it for my summer catch-up. I'll have more to add when my final round at Hogwarts begins.
With love, Nina.
