Friends.

Just being around them made him feel better, as if the crowd felt more protective, more solid. He could be himself in a crowd for sure and the first night back was no exception. Although he would normally have been in the dorm soon, this impromptu mix of houses (though only one Slytherin) had taken up a corner of an unused classroom after supper and shoved all the chairs to one side into a big circle. There had to be nearly twenty people and two circles were quickly made with everyone trying to grab seats near someone they trusted when in the crowd he got bumped from the seat he had been about to take.

Laughing with the general merriment of confused grabs for empty spots it was no wonder he jumped for the one nearest him still empty over two people's laps and managed to land on the chair with both feet prompting a mix of applause and laughter. As the one trying for it turned and darted for another, Walker quickly sat down and looked to one side where there was a Raveclaw boy he knew by name and they nodded at each other. While not friends exactly, they were acquainted with each other and that felt safe enough as far as the game went.

A glance to his other showed him a Huffie girl he did not know who looked younger indeed. He put on a friendly smile as people kept laughing and pushing each other into settling down for a game. "Hey there! I'm Walker, Walker Zephyr," she seemed like someone he might have seen before but forgotten about, "and you are...?" As she reacted he heard someone speak about games and a few began calling out names of games and he felt a push form behind causing his chair to slide smack up against hers. Grinning back over his shoulder and setting his back to resist further shoves, he nodded at her saying "Nice to meetcha."

She had made it into the classroom before everything went hectic and crazy. This was one of her favorite things to attend at the beginning of school. Classes weren't on for another day or so, so she had time to be relaxed and have some fun. She definitely needed some lively fun, Lynie had totally broke her down this summer. Not only that, but Finnigan was out there somewhere, and she was going to find him this year. If her narrator can find someone to claim him. *cough*

She sat in that seat for a minute, a couple people around were talking about games and what they were going to do once the initial crowd grew bigger. She had played gobstones once or twice, looked over at a wizard's chess board, but she shrugged. Then she heard them talk of games like spin the bottle, and Maddie smiled. She was almost sixteen, and she was definitely ready to enjoy being a teenager.

As the crowd grew, she watched girls hop in seats and boys fight over the seats next to them. She laughed, knowing that there would be someone seating next to her, soon enough. As a boy literally hopped into the seat, she blushed. He was athletic enough to hop that way and balanced enough to land it. When he looked toward her, she had a big smile on her face. "What an entrance!" she exclaimed. When he turned, she saw him. She knew him, didn't she? She swore up and down in her head, there was something familiar about him, but she couldn't place it. Though, he had a perfect smile, great hair, and flawless skin. He was... perfect. She blushed at the though, "Maddie... Maddie Weasley." She knew her REAL name was just sitting there floating in her head, but she had come to know Weasley as her rightful last name, and never thought her former would be of any use to her. Though, she had been rethinking that lately. If she ever did meet Finnigan, would they recognize each other?

She shook that thought. She jumped and giggled when his desk slammed into hers. "Whoa! Heh, Nice to meet you too!" she said a bit louder, seeing at the group had grown louder itself. She was ever smiling, and knew that tonight would be a lot of fun, "I'm looking forward to these games, what about you?!" still a bit loud, but just enough for him to hear her. The number of twenty must have grown to nearly thirty. There were some people sitting up on the side counters of the classroom proclaiming that they would only be watching. She looked down and saw that his desk had trapped her in, and she was completely okay with that. She smiled toward him, "Nice name, Walker."

Grinning at the welcome, Walker bowed her way as thanks before he turned to deal with the shove of the crowd, amused. When she mentioned her name he grinned and pushed back with his back to keep from being pushed nearly into her directly as people tried to fit more butts in then they had chairs for father down the circle. "Heh, sorry! They are playing silly buggers but I got myself set now," he exclaimed, proud of having the muscles to deal with it in the first place.

"Games? Of course! New faces, old friends, everything safe and fun!" His arms bulged a bit holding onto his chair as another push came which he held back with a grin tossed over his shoulder. "I love crowds... Thanks! I like it too, though Madalyn is good too! Which way do you spell it? I've known one who complained about the way people spelled hers..."

Hearing the crowd beginning to change to two sides, spin the bottle or truth or dare (and both sides of the room trying to shout the other side down, he laughed, unable to help himself. This was life and he loved it, wanted it pounding in his veins with all the cheer he felt in his heart of being here! His eyes were delighted, filled with excitement as he looked her way trying to see who all was here. "WE DON'T HAVE A BOTTLE!!!" he shouted back, his grin about to burst.

She blushed a bit more. She couldn't tell if he was just being a happy go lucky person, or if he was actually a Hufflepuff. She had never seen him around before, so she couldn't bring herself to actually assume he was. In one of the shoves of the desks she got a better look at a Gryffindor crest and smiled. She liked Gryffindors, they were all so honest and brave. "Well that's good!" She said, cheerfully. The crowd was beginning to push her side as well.

Crowds are fun. It really helped in the keeping Lynie out of her head. Not literally, she was always there, but she didn't like loud noises. Maddie pictured a little girl in her ears hunkering down to protect her own eardrums. She was happy there was a lot of noise, and a cute boy to talk to. "Well. I spell it the normal way?" she laughed, her chair being pushed into his. When that happened, she put her hand on the only thing that seemed sturdy enough to actually hold her in place, his bicep. She was tiny, and wouldn't be able to hold off the rest of the pushes, if they got any more violent.

She giggled, "Sorry.. But it's M. A. D. A." she began to spell her own name for him, and apologize. She removed her hand from his arm as another push, stronger, came against her own chair. "L. Y. N--Ah!" She squealed as her chair was slammed toward his and she landed in his lap. Her hands were on his shoulders. "Oh my gosh... I'm so sorry." She said, pretty much right in his face. It's a good thing she always brushes her teeth and keeps gum with her. She likes gum. "Uh... Yeah, So that's how you spell my name..." She said blushing. "And.. They have once, we could just join their game." For whatever reason, she still held herself by his shoulders. Blushing.

She seemed a very bright and cheerful girl and Walker liked her reactions so far so he grinned right back. As the crowd remained playful and laughing, there was no hint of danger at all really. When she placed a hand on his arm he felt a little chill like goose bumps but took it for excitement of close contact with a very pretty girl who seemed on the surface to like him. He was listening to her spell her name when suddenly when people got silly on her end she was pushed right into his lap! THAT was a LOVELY and rather EXCITING moment!

Like any teenage boy he had dreams and hopes and desires; she was creating a whole new bunch for him later on at this moment and in the meantime he was so surprised he almost lost his bracing against the chair. "Well now!" he exclaimed enough she could certainly hear him easily, "Oh don't be sorry, life is a game to be taken as it comes! I promise you, I'm not complaining at all about this!" Suddenly to him it seemed they had their own little private bubble of conversation where only they existed, the noise pushed aside for a moment as everyone began to come to a consensus without them.

Without thinking it through he said to just her "I don't think I need one to be honest," looking her in the eyes. Kissing a girl, yes that would be pretty awesome if they weren't in the middle of a crowd chanting about truth or dare. He broke off as everyone cheered, glancing aside with a slight (very slight) blush of his own as the shoving began to die down. Seeing everyone was squished together (and she was hardly the only one sitting in someone's lap) he said "Excuse me a moment, I have an idea," and he pushed her legs, using his other hand to catch her waist as he turned her so she was facing forward and his arm was around her middle.

Now she could see that they were all packed in. Looking around her left side as people tried to say who should go first and what the dare or truth should be, the excitement of the moment for him was still going. He had his arm around a girl who was not his little sister and she wasn't trying to kill him? Score!

Now that she was literally in his lap, facing him, she was happy. She could feel his muscles. Those made her happy too. Of course, she was a teenage girl, emotions weren't the only thing she was feeling right at the moment. She had an odd feeling mixed in with both her emotional and physical feelings, though it was faint. Very faint. She brushed it off as a feeling of actually being interested in. This had never really happened to her. Was she finally blossoming to being a pretty girl? I think so! Nonetheless, she was happy to be in his arms... or lap, rather. There was nothing better than this to start the year off right.

Of course.. He would say something like that. Maddie's subtle blush turned effervescently pink. She turned away for a moment. He wasn't complaining about her landing in his lap, though, neither was she. When she looked back at him, she felt it. For a split second, time had stopped and she was staring into the eyes of someone.. familiar? It was an odd familiarity. Like... She didn't know if she knew him or not, but her mind had decided it was a pair of eyes she could fall completely head over heels for.

Her blush stayed with her. He didn't need a bottle? What did that even mean? When he said it, she felt a connection to him. Like, did he mean he could just kiss her, no bottle needed?? She was so curious. Though, she wouldn't mind if he had planted one on her. As that thought came into focus, he spoke again, and flipped her in his arms. She gripped his thighs as she landed facing the crowd. Scared for a second, but realized how impressive that was. It took her a minute to realize he has his arms around her waist, and that she was sitting on his lap. She blushed and looked back at him, "Did you have this planned all along?" she said with a blushy giggle.

She looked forward and watched as the people were setting up to play. She smiled and put her hand in his. She rested their hands on her thigh. She was glad she was just short enough for his head to match her head's level, even with her sitting on his lap. "Were you wanting to play? I mean.. if you didn't need a bottle, that is?" she teased.

She blushed slightly more and he nearly held his breath. 'Is this really happening? Is this what real attraction does when you get the right person?' He was a mix of wanting to get her out of here in a hurry to anywhere more private to waiting to see what other clues he might pick up from her. The bottle comment seemed to catch her off guard as if she wanted clarification but he had been told once that mystery was attractive when dating so he didn't say any thing more. But his eyes said kissing her was top on his list of things he wanted to do for sure.

Turning her around, he felt her hands grip his legs and he grinned, glad she felt that comfortable already with this. He laughed at her giggle saying back softer as the crowd noise died down some in the discussion "Oh no, this is all winging it! Maybe I'm feeling a bit inspired..." She took his other hand leaving one around her waist and placed hers in his on her leg and he felt another little thrill. He felt like she was totally trustworthy, though why he felt that he couldn't say. Having learned to listen to his instincts, he went with it.

Though the testosterone in his blood was saying he should be aiming for a much higher goal then kissing.

He grinned back at her words. A glance around and he knew in a moment how to get them out of this, though everyone there would know about it and it would start whispers. His mind decided that was okay as well, there were more personal things at stake here then games with friends who probably would not blame him anyway. "Oh I want to play, but if you'd like something more then a game I can get us out of here..." The double meaning there was fairly clear, even though it had only been a matter of moments that they had met. He definitely felt a connection with her that was strong, though through inexperience he was misreading the signals of it much like she was.

Life, after all, had never really been on his side. He deserved something back, right? Maybe she was life's way of giving back, apologizing for the rest of the mess he had lived through...

There was definitely something going on here. She felt warm inside, like she was reconnecting with a childhood friend she hadn't seen in ages. She giggled when he said he was just winging it, and of course he was. Like he could have planned any of that. He didn't know she was going to be there. She sat there with a huge smile on her face, though still concerned as to why they were clicking so fast. Was it because of something else? Some other underlying fact or reason they both seemed to be missing? She shook the thought and nodded.

She could have just as easily decided against doing anything with him, but was that really what she wanted? No... Of course not. He was attractive. "I'd much rather spend some time alone, talking with you.. and other things.." She said, leaning back onto his chest. It was comfy. Rock hard muscle-comfy. "But, seeing as how I'm sitting on you... I'll let you decide." she giggled. Lynie must be sleeping, cause she sure is letting this go on. Usually, Lynie would be screaming in her head about how she doesn't want to see this happening. Called Maddie a slut once... She is just a little bitch.

Never having had a girlfriend and only kissed a little bit, Walker was like any other boy hyper anxious to know what it was like, get some experience enough to know what he was talking about. Mind you, he wanted love most of all, but all good things had to be worked for right? So he needed experience and this girl seemed as close as he had ever gotten to being kissed and that was like one of the most basic things, right?

Right??

The giggle was evidence she liked this and was very much interested in him. And then she choose him and he grinned, and glanced around again working out the details. As she giggled against his chest he leaned forward and whispered "Well then, my pretty princess, I need a slightly different hand hold here, hang on tight!" Catching her legs again he turned her halfway, slipped an arm under the back of her knees,, his other already falling to her lower back giving her just enough time to get her arms around his neck.

Standing up was hard, but he managed it and then turned around as a few whoops and hollers called out; he paid them no attention as he stepped up on the chair and then put his other foot on the backing, pushing as he shifted their weight. As the chair toppled over and several shouted encouragement, he stepped off the back onto the floor to stagger a few steps and then like a cowboy heading off into the sunset he walked through the classroom door and out into the hallway to cheers!

Instinctively knowing to say anything about weight or back pain would get him in hot water, He turned his body to lower her legs first and set her on her feet most gracefully in the hall, he resisted grabbing his back and caught her hand up, kissing the back of it like he had heard gentlemen used to do in the old days. "Your wish is my command, where we o next is at your decision, m'lady," he said with a grin and followed where she led fom there, feeling very proud of himself...

Maddie held on tight as he spun her around and leaped and bounded. She was giggling almost the entire way. They had just met... or was it just her? This was weird, how comfortable they had been with each other. Right? Still, as he moved through the room and people applauded his athleticism and balance, she was amazed. She didn't know many people who could actually do what he had just done while holding a girl in their arms.

As her feet planted onto the floor, she took a deep breath and turned to him. She had never experienced the thrills of having a boyfriend, so this was an entirely new thing to her. Not that he was her boyfriend or anything, but he was sure treating her like something more than a newly acquainted person... something more than just a friend. She had noticed his blushing a bit, and since it had faded. She was still as pink in the cheeks as ever. She knew that whatever the case may be, they were going to have a strong relationship.

She smiled, "Up to me? Oh you're such a gentleman." she was happy she had caught her breath and was able to speak. She looked at him as he stood there. A lot taller than she had imagined, but tall was good. He was also a lot more muscular than she had though. He was basically stacked. She liked muscle, she can't deny that. "Well.. It is really nice out," she beamed.

The giggles from her, the cheers from those looking for free entertainment, and the general amused feeling of the room had him feeling very very good! Not to mention carrying a girl gave you an impression on how much you could like having one close too! Grinning as she took a deep breath and then smiled at him he nodded back encouragingly. She told him he was a gentleman and he had been told women liked that so he coughed slightly "For the right person, always!"

She chose...outside? Ah! Right! Darkness and no one could see you! Feeling this was a remarkably interesting development, he motioned for her to lead and fell into step beside her adding "Just have to keep an eye on time. Only a few hours till curfew." 'No no no no why did I say that, it sounds bad like I'm jumping to conclusions about what will happen! Think think think... ah!' "I mean, what with it not being a bright moon you know. Can't ah see the watches."

When they got to the doors, it was clear they had not been closed for the evening quite yet though it was getting dim outside as the sun sank close to the horizon. Ah ha! That's why she said it, sunset! Romantic right? He was fairly sure it was romantic. Only then did it occur to him to wonder what year she was in. A glance at her face showed she was very pretty, but didn't answer his thoughts. "Okay I know you're not in my year. Do you mind if I ask what year you are?" Oh shoot! What if she was a friend of his sister??

Oh man. That could be good and bad because he could get information on her, but Viona would want to know why...

This thought of him being familiar and knowing him from before she was adopted stuck in her head, and she put it in the way back, she had never met anyone named Walker, she was sure of that. The though of his name actually being changed didn't come to her. The thought to ask if about his family hadn't come to her. There was a lot of things that had been skipped between the two, and she just didn't seem to care. He was being extremely... attractive. This was a change for her, other than the little tricks that Lucas had pulled over the small summer vacation she spent with him, Evie, and Teddy. Though, Lucas never touched her, but the one high five, and when she grabbed him going through the haunted house.

She blushed. What exactly did he mean by that? She became slightly nervous, after all she wasn't even sixteen yet. When he corrected himself, her mind was slightly eased. He wasn't actually referring to a sexual kind of endeavor, thank god... They had only known each other for a few minutes shy of an hour, and she was so connected to him. Her thoughts came in on her, and she was beginning to feel a bit awkward and question her own comfort with him. Again, she shrugged it off as nothing more than mere coincidence, "Yeah! No worries, let's just not stay out in the dark too long..." She knew there would be a bit of sun left, but she was in no hurry to head back to the common room. She put his hand in hers to lead the way. She pulled him, "Come on!" she wanted to make it out of the front doors before the shine and color of the sunset had faded.

Once they made it through, she was pleased to see that the sun was still yet to break the threshold of the horizon. "It's so pretty!" she said softly. She positioned closer to him and looked up at him, bringing his arm around her. She had hoped it wasn't too forward, but then again she really didn't care. If that was forward, so was flipping her around his body like he had done. "I should be a fifth year." Once that topic came up, she looked away from him. It wasn't that big of a deal anymore, but to new people.. She would have to tell them she failed and was repeating her fourth year. Proceed into talking about why and divulging Lynie--her six year old self that was trapped in her head-- and just feel like an utter failure. She tried to hide her own blush, but knew that even though he couldn't see her face, her cheek was resting on his upper arm and he could feel the heat.

This is what would happen.. Always. She would find a kind guy.. Then eventually have to tell him about Lynie... before she decided to do it herself. Then, they would almost freak out and be gone. She could never hold a boy, and Lynie was the reason. A tear streamed down her cheek and onto his arm. She regretted letting that happen, but there was no hiding her emotional side now. Lynie was a strong reason for most of her unhappy times. She only wishes she could reach a point in her life that she could be that happy bubbly person she is when things are.... normal.

Turns out his concern over his own words had been well founded as she sounded relieved by his correction. So patting himself on the back, Walker ignored the twinge in his back of minor complaint and went with her thoughts. "Sounds good!" She pulled him to hurry and he trotted along behind her as they passed through the doors and outside. The sun was sinking, but no down yet.

She pulled his arm around her and he snaked her shoulders, standing beside her looking towards the sun. "It is. I prefer sunrises though, not such a fan of nighttime. I'd be a terrible rule breaker" he chuckled softly. he had good reasons to not like the memory of the night hours, but he couldn't remember why; he only felt the touch of nerves in the evenings. "Ah well, join the club, I should be in seventh right now, but I had a hard time at the beginning and had to repeat first year."

She rested her cheek on his shoulder and he pulled her close, enjoying the moment together. He would remember this a long time indeed. It was a minute before he felt the tear and glanced at her face, suddenly worried he was doing something wrong. "Hey, you all right? Or do you need to tell me those are happy tears and I should ignore them?"

As his arm lay around her and he explained how he should be in Seventh year, she smiled and turned to him, that one tear faded away. She wasn't the only one, she knew that, but he too was held back. "That makes me feel better..." she said, reassuring him she was okay. She had hoped that the tears were in no way being shown, but that was definitely not the case. Her face was slightly wet with a stream or two, but her smiled disproved sadness. She wasn't going to say anything just yet. She didn't want to ruin this moment.

The way his eyes were lit up from the sunset, and his hair glowed, he looked like a god. He was beautiful, and she caught herself staring at his lips. They glistened. She blushed again, trying not to stare for too long. "I... I'm.. I'm fine.." She said, drying her face with her sleeve. "Yep.. Happy Tears!" she exclaimed, even though it was a lie. But this was not, "I've never... experienced this before.." She hadn't. This experience, with a boy, a romantic one she had never actually felt before. This was all new to her, and scary, she didn't know what she'd do or how she'd handle what would eventually come from this... Not with a six year old in her head, anyway.

Probably the first time ever that being held back helped someone, but he just shrugged it off. Long as she didn't ask why as that was something he did not feel good about going into right now. Not this early on for certain as she would probably think it as creepy as he did and he had no wish to either lie nor drive her away. "Glad it helps..." She stared at him and he wondered if this was one of those moments he had heard of but then she spoke and the moment was past almost before he realize it! Inwardly cursing his inexperience, he tried to keep interest in her words.

She was covering for something he thought, but he wasn't that good at reading someone he just met in the first place. "Okay, long as it's cheerful." Her further words caused him to breath out a relief of his own actually. "Really? Well, that's a relief cause we're in the same boat. This is all new," he said motioning between the two of them, "I'm not sure really what happened back in there, but it was fun and... a bit addictive to be honest." He'd always had a hard time not feeling those around him and reacting, definitely the Lion in him.

He held up the same hand as if to say he wasn't pushing. "And hey, don't worry I'm not pushing! No rushes here, you're good. I'm just enjoying this as it comes." That was right, right? The little voice in the back of his head was screaming for him to kiss her, but he was ignoring it on purpose. He knew going too fast was what lots of people said in the older years and he wasn't going to do anything to screw this up!
