As soon as the curse hit her and she fell to the ground, he ran over to her and reversed the curse straight away. He cared about Nina a lot and was obviously going to hold up to the agreement of the duel - he would have no reason in his mind to leave her like that any longer than he had to. "Well, that was a good duel. We definitely both had our chances," he said, offering his hand for her to shake. It had been close and really could have gone either way - it had almost become a battle of who could distract the other, because they were so evenly matched in wandwork.

Nina was of course quite happy to be immediately un-cursed by her friend, and felt terrible to even assume Vin would be mean and leave her like that for a bit. She smiled at him as he helped her up. When he offered his hand for her to shake, she shook her hand.
"No, no, no," she said. "Good mates don't shake hands. Good mates hug." She then embraced him and gave him a friendly kiss on the cheek. "Love you, mate." Male friend or female friend, Nina never had qualms about kissing cheeks. She was from an affectionate family, and was just that way with anyone she cared about.
"That was rather clever, Vin," she said after she broke the hug. "You're going to be a great wizard some day." She then turned to look at the mess. "But before this day comes, we'd better clean this mess up. Who knows? Professor Grimp or another teacher may actually show up after all." Nina then bent down and began cleaning. She then smiled at Vina again. "What say you to being treated to some burgers and shakes by the loser at the Three Broomsticks this weekend? I won't take no for an answer."
If there was one thing one could say about Nina Devoll, it was that she was just as gracious in losing as she was at winning.

Vincent laughed when Nina hugged him and then kissed him on the cheek. He was used to her affectionateness by now after over six years of being in the same house together. "Likewise," he replied with a grin.
"You were pretty clever yourself. I'd say we were very evenly matched," he replied. He definitely didn't think that winning this duel meant that he was better than Nina - it just meant he had been luckier with his chances in this case. "Yeah, you're right. Reparo," he said, as he hovered his wand over the lamp, which reformed from the shattering that had happened on impact with the ground. He then levitated it back up to the ceiling and repaired it up there, as well. "That sounds awesome, actually. Saturday lunch?" he suggested. "We should also have a rematch, sometime. I'm far from convinced that we'll get the same result," he added. He knew if he had lost he would be determined to have a rematch, so he would offer Nina the same opportunity.

Nina smiled at how Vin complimented her. He was always a gracious winner or loser too, and that was another thing she loved about him. She and Vina had been good mates practically from day one, and got along almost like siblings, with the silly arguments thrown in there too now and then.
"Dawww, you hush now," she joked. "You just humbled me. Don't go inflating my ego again."
Nina then watched as Vin used magic to repair the lamp. That definitely beat picking up broken glass, especially with no broom and dustpan about.
"Gotta love that magic," she said with a chuckle.
Nina then smiled about the Saturday lunch.
"Sounds brilliant," she said. "Maybe we can play on the Pitch some beforehand. I don't think anyone is using it then." Nina loved playing one-on-one with Vin on the Pitch, or even just broom-racing. She loved doing a number of things with her friend... hence why they were such good friends.
Nina then nodded about the rematch.
"Sounds like a plan, mate, and I'm sure we'll be surprised by the next outcome... at least you might be," she joked again. "Ugh, but not until after I get this essay done for Grimp. He's a good prof and all, but he can be a regular slave-driver on some of these assignments."
