Stepping into an unused classroom which was actually empty right now of all desks and chairs, Walker walked over carrying a bag over his shoulder of sizable mass. Walking to the center of the room, he held it up and waved his wand at th top so it fastened to the ceiling. His outfit alone should have already pointed out what was to come, but probably only to someone used to the muggle world. Most wizards never bothered with this sort of exercise. Pulling on his gloves, He did a few arm stretches and jogging in place to warm up his limbs before trying a few jabs. Holding one arm up as a blocker, he began with a set of feints and jabs over and over trying different sets to keep it from becoming repetitious. He believed in being not just physically able to move, but able to deal with things without a wand, knowing there was always a way to be disarmed or caught off guard. Those who practiced would be able to deal with change, not be surprised by it. besides, for the first time in his life he had others who were depending on him and he wasn't about to let his family down if he could help it at all. Changing to some footwork, Walker danced around the bag slamming it hard with punches and some kicks thrown in, designed to not only challenge an opponent, but build up a good sweat. After a good forty five minutes of a hard and relentless workout, he felt drenched with weary arms indeed! Letting his arms drop to his sides, he slicked back his hair and picked up the bottom of his shirt and dropped it next to his towel. Picking up his towel he wiped his face and hair before his upper body, getting his wand from where he had dropped it with his towel. Wanding his hair dry and then the towel, he also de-scented both to be on the safe side though he had heard rumor most girls like to see sweat on a guy. He smirked at himself and knew that the fine sheen on his upper body was enough as it was; he didn't need to stink like a gym.

Xylina walked down the empty corridors a bit bored, she hadn' the faintest idea what to do with her time now that she finished her run. She normally would find some guy to lock lips with or some poor bookworm to tease, she loved getting people to question their sexuality. Though she was decidedly straight she could never quite say no to a hot chick. Perhaps it was because she understood what it was like not to be satisfied in a relationship, after all who better to understand your needs like someone who had the same ones. Stuffing her hands into the pocket of her sweatshirt she turned the corner she could hear paced breathing and punches hitting something.
Her eyes lit up, boxing was something she adored, and it sounded to her like a muggle-born had brought one to school. She hoped it was a boy, and that he atleast knew what he was doing....she wouldn' be able to contain her laughter. She knew that she should be better understanding of guys trying to make themselves stronger and everyone had to start from the beginning but they could atleast be more experienced with it right? She crept quietly to where the sounds were coming from, opening the door she got a surprise.
He didn't seem to notice her so she slipped in quietly and sat on the floor in a corner. Though she was impressed she wouldn't say, seeing as since he was guy by default she had to deflate bis ego, the fact that he was a Gryffindork made that goal even more of a priority. Though she didn't see why she couldn't pace herself and at least enjoy the fine specimen before her. She could appreciate beauty, and he was a work of art, to bad he was he though if it had been a girl in the room she would've spelled the bag to fall. It all made sense in her mind, she was a feminist only she was passed getting equalrights, she was out to destory the opposite sex...in a more modern way. Guys aftafterl were slaves to their desires, and she loved anything that got the blood pumping, heart racing, anadrenaline rushing.

Being a Zephyr, though still a new experience, was quick becoming a delight for him. Known for several years now as just Walker, he now said his last name proudly. Although people mixed him up as being a pure, he really had no idea what his blood with, having a missing past. The workout was a good one and after cleaning up he was reaching for his clean shirt brought along hen he heard something and glanced towards the door. A glance showed him nothing, but hen he saw color out of the corner of his eye, looked, and then turned towards her in some surprise.
She was pretty that was for sure and the maleness in him noticed certain things more then others. Still manners had him a bit as he said "Guess I was too distracted to know I had an audience. Been here long?" He used the wand to tap the bag which fell to the floor and then slipped it back into his pocket. He really needed a sheath for it, but he only had the one for his lower leg and on a workout that just wouldn't do. He probably could have worn i anyway, but he thought it looked really strange with shorts.
Besides, all the more surprised if someone saw him in long pants and didn't know, right?
As he reached down a second time for the shirt, he wondered what house she was in. She wasn't a Gryff, he knew that much, and not in his year. Of course, he was old for his year being a year behind those he should have started with so his friends were mostly his year and above. "Boxing fan? Or just like watching people when they don't know it?" He didn't actually put off a 'I'm-so-good' vibe like some might have, but he did clearly enjoy using his body. While he awaited her next move to see what she was after, he searched the shirt neck for the label side to put it on.

Xylina got up of the f loor, and dusted herself off. Taking a moment to assess the boy, or ratber undress him sith her eyes, she nodded in appreciation. Her hands went to the pockets of her hoodie as she leaned against the wall that she was standing by. Cross her legs, not liking the way her shorts felt, she frowned for a second before ignoring it. Shruggi.g her shoulders she half-smiled "Depends on your definition, not the whole time, I just got back from my run" she moved her bangs out of her eyes and loosened her ponytail. She hoped he didnt think she was a creeper or anything, because she didnt need to creep.
"How long have you been boxing?" she asked curiously, she had started when she was eight, she was sixteen now. Though she was eight and mad at the world, her family, well everybody really. She was slightly more realistic now.
"Yes to the first, No to the second, I heard the sound of.the punching bag, I was curious" she said wuth a shrug of her shoulders. She said as if she had thought about while she said it. "Why, are you any good when faced with an actual Person?"

Ah so not very long at all. He wasn't sure whether he liked the idea she had been watching him move or not while he was unaware. He missed her undressing him with her eyes as he thought about that. "Ah I see. I'd appreciate it if next time you cleared your throat or something. Seems a bit odd to be watched without warning." Actually he felt stripped of covers really. "So you run. I don't run so much as swim."
He shrugged thinking about it not long. "Maybe four years? They wanted me to put on more weight before they would teach me. I have a trainer in the summer's usually." His father had been willing to let him go one some days of the week in the afternoon to the same ring he had gone to when adopted which made the transition easier. he had worked a lot of early anger with it and it felt better now.
A girl who was a boxing fan? Hel-lo! "Really? That's cool." He started to lift up the bottom of the shirt to slip it on when she said something that was distracting and he stopped looking at her straight on. "Ah, now I see the interest! How long have you boxed?" If she had just run maybe she was as tired as he felt and he wouldn't look bad in front of a girl when she turned out to be much better then he was if she was challenging...

"Okay, I can do that, ill make a bunch of noise so you dont think im stalking you, stalking requires stealth." Xylina said with a goofy smile on her face, not that she was nervous or anythint, Xylina was a nerd if one got to know her. Even if it was an impossible feat with the barbired fences she kept around her heart. "I swim, but not a lot, unless its in a pool." she said scrunching up her nose.
"Since I was eight, I had anger issues and my dad thought it would be a good idea seeing as he trains people. I got to beat him a couple of times so it was worth the frustration." she said shrugging.
"I was grounded this summer so my punching bag took huge beating, I dont think boxing was an appropriate outlet, hut I refused dance." which was funny because dancing was something she enjoyed, when the beat was right.

He chuckled at her words and nodded. "Sounds good." Her response to the swim question surprised him. "Ah interesting! I find it a great workout so I hit the black lake everyday till it gets too cold then the pool here for the rest of the time. I prefer real water though to fake scenes." He shrugged, knowing the room of requirement could only do so much really. He only got introduced to it last year by one of his friends; it still seemed to be a decently kept secret.
An eyebrows went up. "Wow, personal trainer. You got me there, I've never had that kind of attention before till this summer," meaning a lot more then boxing of course "You probably have me beat through just experience alone." Anger wasn't the best thing to fight with though, but if she had the skill and was used to it early on she still had him easily he was fairly sure.
Smirking for only a second it turned into a cough of laughter. "Ah well I've been pretty good at home so far, but I can imagine that could have been very frustrated time. What did you get grounded for? If you don't want to tell that's fine though, just curious."

Xylina shrugged "I find that water dulls the senses, its disconcerting" she said rubbing the back of her neck, she hated the way it masked a person scent. She didn't expect him to understand, why would he? She steeled her thoughts nd kept herself from.being bitter, now was not the time to let self-hate shine through, she was doing so well.
She shrugged "Not when they live with you, you can't cheat on diets or slack off." although she did it on purpose just piss her dad off. "Yeah, probably but you dont get better by just winning, trying match the persons strength and speed when yiur faster gives you Better control." She said shrugging.

Dulls the...? What an odd way of looking at it. "Well yeah I guess so. It's not as easy to smell in the water and you can't see far, I can imagine that. Interesting I've never looked at it that way before." Did she walk around being paranoid? Weird. Or did she meant it cut down a person's smell? That was the purpose of baths and showers after all to make it more livable then having your friends two week straight worn socks shoved up your nose.
He pulled the shirt on over his head, not aware of her eyes. Ah ha he thought as she explained, yes that would suck indeed. "Oh yeah! That would suck I guess. My problem is nothing to do with dieting though. My father runs a bakery and I am in the middle of smell good stuff all day long." He slapped his stomach through the shirt he had just slipped on. "Means I have to do a lot more crunches. That can be an issue."
Tilting his head at her he raised an eyebrow. "So you're really fast? Something you learned, some trick you wanna share?" He was always willing to hear someone out when they had found out something or gained an advantage. 'Craving for...?' That sounded interesting at the same time he became wary. "Well I like a good adventure, but I'm not so sure danger fits the bill always. A fair amount of it can make things more edgy."

Xylina inwardly winced of course he wouldn't know what she meant by that and she sounded totally weird. She sighed and mentally scolded herself, expecting the Gryffindor to be closed minded like many of the Gryffindors she had met, and make a quick escape. Xylina was if nothing else, honest she never told you something tbat easnt true at the same time she never discouraged you from mission impossible. "ayeah, though I dont have to mucb trouble seeing in water." she said a bit shyly, mostly because they were treading near a dangerous topic, enhanced senses.
Yeah, I guess but it was a necessary evil I guess, it helped somewhat." She said shrugging she really didn't want to talk about things from her childhood. It was nothing to write home about. She guessed if they were ever gonna trade sob stories, it would be after they were piss drunk and only the good stuff worked on her. Not to mention she'd never speak to him after, feelings scared her, she was quiet the playboy when it came to that sort of mentality.
"Not a trick really I just have good reflexes, its unfair if I exploit that, when dealing with someone who hasnt done anything wrong" The guys who went to her fathers gym were an exception, she loved knocking then arkund only because they always stard at her, like she had an eighth head.

Finding the comments about water a trifle confusing as he didn't know where she was coming from, he simply nodded at her statement she could see good. "Whenever I swim I usually do it with my eyes closed mostly. But it's still my preferred exercise. I'll have to switch to the indoors soon though because of the winter weather." And while the room of requirement was awesome for things like that, it wasn't really very real feeling which was frustrating slightly to Walker.
He thought about the idea that it had helped, assuming she meant her own situation. "Maybe it helped you, I'm not so sure for me. My father isn't into boxing, of course, he's into bread and stuff that tastes amazing which is really freaking distracting. I had to work twice as much just to stay where I already was so not so much an advantage I think on my end." He loved his new family, but the bread part was going to ruin him physically if he didn't adjust to those smells soon!
But after years of cheap orphanage food it was hard to resist...
Walker held up his hands quick enough defensively. "Oh I've definitely not done anything wrong," he said through a grin, "but if you ever want to spar sometime for practice, maybe I can pick up some tricks off you. If you don't turn out to wipe the floor with me, that is," he grinned to show he was teasing a bit. Then he turned a question in his mind that came out before he thought about it.
"Hey, is your dad wanting you to try and go professionally or something?"

Xylina nodded, she needed to change the topic. She thought and she laughed a bit have we even introduced ourselves yet? Im Xylina by the way, but people call me lina. Or Xyli its pronounced zi-lee for some reason" she said rolling her eyes, its bad enough her name meaned the moon but ridiculous nicknames?
"Of course not, I just met you, and sure but maybe when you're not so tired? I do believe in fairness, you seem to be at least well skilled in everything...four years is better than most people have." she said with a shrug, she thought the defensive hand thing was cute. Not to mention he didn't try and flaunt his muscles or anything, perhaps the male populations wasn't all the same.
"No, I uh had alot of anger as a kid and boxing was a way to channel it while spending time with my dad, though it never really worked because he'd go off an talk to my sister...." She let that thought trail off, she was still a bit bitter about her childhood.

When she mentioned introductions, Walker made a visible face palm and nodded. "You're right, just jumped right into conversation, didn't we?" Her name struck him as very unusual. "Well I have to admit, I've never heard of that name before! Nice to be unique, Lina, I'm Walker." He saw the rolling of her eyes and knew he wouldn't be trying to say her full name anytime soon. "My last name is Zephyr, which is almost as unusual." And since his family had a very prominent bakery in Diagon Alley, that said enough right there usually.
He just said it cause it made him feel more connected.
Smiling he nodded saying "Would be nice to have someone to work out against, sure." Her comment however helped his ego a tad. "Oh say, thanks! Coming from someone working at it as long as you have I'd have to say that is a compliment!" He gave her a small head bow, assuming she knew the sport far more fully then he did. "I'm sure I'll learn a lot." Walker had never been one to be gender biased; heck, the only type of person he held anything against were vampires and that because of his unexplainable fears.
Ah. He realized he had brought up something inadvertently bad and sought a way to turn it around. "I guess in the way it sounded to me, he was trying to give you a career, but I guess not. Well I have to say you are the prettiest boxer I have ever seen, he should have spent more time with you out of sheer pride!" And that was the truth; if Walker had had a girl anywhere near as pretty who was also a boxer he would have spent a lot more time with her to make sure she could protect that face.
"And you've been practicing against guys in the ring did you say?" He looked impressed because she sure didn't show it in looks!

"Yeah, most of the time I wonder if my parents were throwing stuff together. It pronounced Zi-lina but nobody ever asked, so I just shrugged the attempts off, Walkers a nice name, normal name even." Lina knew he name meant something, the same curse she had every full moon was given to her everyday of the year by named after the moon. Xylina meaned moon, and she hated it. Not that she would ever tell anybody about it, her problems and her secret, she would push people away.
"Yeah, it would though outside is more preferable, I hated crowded classrooms, not enough space. Yeah but dont let it go to your head or anything. Yeah, same here, you learn thing from every prson you face, in my opinion, even if its the wrong way to do things or the right place to put your feet." She was shrugging now, talking about boxing and stuff was all fun, hut she was actually curious about the boy in front of her. He didnt have the foolish pride or haughty attitude majority of the good looking guys had and there was no way the boy in front of her was insecure...just no way.
"Aw shucks walker, you say the nicest things" She said batting her eyelashes at him, smiling a bit. Yeah she was flirting but she actually appreciated the statement at the end. She had attentiom issues because.of herself childhood, she wouldn't ask for atttentiom but the way she carried her self comanded peoples attention even if it was just a passing glance.
"Yep, I look awesome I know, its hard to keep my face safe, jokinf of course, not alot of guys take me serious enough to really hit me untill about halfway through, and by then they're too weakened to do any ." She said with a slight shrug.

He grinned. "I guess it does sound that way, you're right..." A tilt of his head at her, curious. "Who knows, it might mean something just to them, like something that reminds them of when you were born or maybe something in another language which has a memory attached." He shrugged, knowing it did sound normal even if not a popular name. "I've not run into another so far, but yeah it does sound normal. Least yours has an unusual sound to it. Gives you a bit of mystery."
Listening to her he saw her point when it came to sparing. "Well for a sparring I agree, but since I usually just practice alone I don't usually bother much. Inside I don't have nearly so many obstacles I can't clear easily since the bag isn't going to dance around." But it did help a lot in aim and practice. He shook his head about it going to his head; he didn't have that sort of confidence in his skill then to fall into that trap! It was just nice to hear it looked like he was on track.
I won't, just nice to hear I'm headed the right way. I'm sure you'll ring my clock a few times too many."" He smiled to show he was half-kidding, but he thought wearing pads with her would be important. She batted her eyelashes and he blushed, embarrassingly so before remembering Maddie and the hard put lessons about not pushing things. It would be awhile before he would attempt to kiss anyone again for sure! "Pffft, just a statement of fact and you know it I think."
Ah ha, so going for her face right off the bat was the right way to start off probably then. "Well since I'm not used to sparing against a lot of people, I'll claim pads for our first workout then just in case. No sense risking it when you don't know what the unskilled guy might do." He laughed to show he was kidding, but he had backed off just a tad from getting too close.
