George was usually in a good mood, at least on the outside. He loved to keep spirits up, and to do that he had to keep his own spirits up. But that didn't mean he was concerned. He was concerned- for his father, his wife, his children, his siblings, his nieces and nephews, and of course his in-laws as well. So many of them had been attacked, and some badly hurt. He was concerned about what could be done before it go out of hand. He was concerned about the possibility of a Third Wizarding World. But again, for now he had to be concerned with the every day running of his business. Hopefully, all this would be over soon, and if it was, he had to do his part to feed and take care of his family. The store also helped him keep whatever was left of his sanity. Merlin forbid the man ever had to get a real job. He would go nutters then. George was preparing to open for the day, setting up the signs and setting out the latest products. He wished Roxy was still there to help out. He missed his daughter a great deal already. "walking away signals defeat, standing and fighting means stupidity"running his hand through his hair tanner apparted to the front of his uncle's joke shop. he was dead tired, more tired than he could ever remember feeling tired and he was starting to wonder why. sleeping for a few hours each night wasn't working out for him but he had no idea what to do about it. he sighed as he pushed his hand into the door and opened it and walked through it, trying to put a geniuine smile on his face as he hoped it masked the circles under his eyes just a little. he ran his hand over the back of his neck as he took in the all too familiar sights of a store he had loved coming into as a kid. he smiled and ran his finger along one of the counters as he walked further into the shop. "uncle george?" he called out, his neck craning to look behind the desk then up the stairs waiting. he chuckles as he ran his finger over something fuzzy on the desk, half expecting it to bite him or at least move. but alas, nothing happened.

George stepped up behind Tanner and watched him pet the furry thing. "You're lucky that Persian Powder Puff's not wound up yet, nephew" he said. "Otherwise you'd be sprayed in the face with quite a nasty powder. The smell doesn't come out of your nose for days they say."
George then stepped over and sat at his desk, motioning for Tanner to sit down as well. "So what brings my nephew the Auror here today?" he asked. "If it's about those Tongue Twisting Tarts I had brought in from Switzerland, I assure you they're perfectly legal. Oh wait I know, Ron's been sacked eh? Arrested some man when he stole eleven bottles of butterbeer, but couldn't make a full case out of it." George smirked at the pun. He liked Tanner a lot, and always tried to get a good laugh out of him. George then opened a small tin on his desk and grabbed himself a caramel choco-ball and popped it in his mouth. He offered Tanner was a well. From the look on George's face as he ate one, the candy was obviously not one of the novelty items in his store and perfectly safe to eat. TANNER WILLIAM WEASLEY

"walking away signals defeat, standing and fighting means stupidity""remind me to get one of these to hide in james' sock drawer then" he said with a grin as he looked up at his uncle. he loved being part of a big family, though at times he wished it wasn't as large as it was, since birthdays and christmas and any other excuse people could use to turn up in the one place with good food, was a little hard to keep up with. he moved to sit down and shrugged his shoulder a little hoping to look like it was a relaed gesture, but he was worried. "the ministry want us to keep our eyes on things that might become targets, this was one on the list so i thought i'd kill two birds with one stone. see you and keep an eye out. don't worry though, yours isn't the only store in the area so i think your safe" running his hand over his face he leaned back in the chair and took one of the candies while smiling at his uncles words. if ever he needed cheering up he'd come find his uncle george. "so fill me in, the kids enjoying school still? business booming?" he asked. he'd been a little out of touch with his family of late and he wanted to change that.

George was all of a sudden not so chipper when he heard the Ministry was having an Auror patrolling his shop. Granted, it was his nephew and George did think a great deal of Tanner, but he still worried about the big picture. "Well that will be a lovely sight for my customers who come here to have fun," he said. "An Auror patrolling around. Then again, they might just think my nephew is coming to visit me... all the time..." George wasn't sure how long it would be before they suspected something. One thing George wouldn't have was a gloom clouding over the entertainment that was his shop. "I am an Order member as well, you know. I'm pretty sure I could handle myself, especially if my own family's in danger. But I know better than to battle the Ministry. At least it's you though and I'll have someone new to pick on all day." George smirked at that. He was just joking of course. Tanner really needed to be filled in if he was asking about how the kidS were enjoying school. "Well Roxy makes any place she is fun, but I don't think Freddie's enjoying school all that much since he graduated last year and all," chuckled George. "Actually I'm considering making Freddie my co-owner. Going to talk to him about it tomorrow."TANNER WILLIAM WEASLEY

"walking away signals defeat, standing and fighting means stupidity""i know it's not ideal uncle george .. but it's something that needs to be done. we don't need anyone else getting hurt" he said as he leaned his arms on the desk and sat forward a little, stretching his back out a little and hoping it cracked, being tense wasn't something that agreed with his body. he knew that him being around wouldn't be good for his uncle's shop, especially if people worked out he was there on auror business, but he was going to try and avoid that happening. "i'll stay in the back unless there's trouble i promise" he wasn't here to get in the way of his uncles shop doing well. he chuckled a little and shook his head. "just remember i made aunt ginny teach me the bat bogey hex when i was ten .. so you pick on me too much and i'll hit you with that" he said, joking too of course. listening as he heard his uncle answer him about his kids he grinned a little, shaking his head at the fact he'd forgotten freddie was no longer at school. "he's graduated? merlin that slipped my mind. maybe i'm getting too old" he joked and laughed softly. "roxy can light up any room she walks into" he ran his hand through his hair as he leaned back, a yawn forming on his lips as his brain told him how tired he was feeling. hiding it beneath his hand he shook his head sligtly and looked at his uncle. "are you? i'm sure he'd love that"

George understood Tanner's concern. The entire family was concerned right now. It was a dark time and all of them damn well knew it. "Well it's not like I'm going to run my beloved nephew off," he said. "I mean we both endured a day in a crazed theme park together. We've been through a lot." George smirked at him. When Tanner offered to stay in the back until there was trouble, George chuckled. "Don't stay in the back," he said. "You don't know what all is back there. Hell, even I don't know what all is back there. I'll wager you could touch most anything and it's likely to explode of spray some kind of itchy goo on you. So you may as well walk about the store. Just pretend you're a customer who has no life. I doubt anyone who comes here every single day has one." George then realized what he had just said. "Scratch that one."George then smiled at Tanner about the bat bogey curse. "Who the bloody hell do you think taught it to her?" he asked with a wink. He and Fred did admittedly try to corrupt their only sister when they were all younger. Unfortunately, they failed and Ginny turned out to be a decent person. Can't win them all. George then nodded about Freddie and Roxy. "The only thing I fear is that Freddie might ruin me when he starts running this store like an actual professional would," said George. "I don't know if I can bare my customers finding out that this store is actually going to be in good hands for once."George was ever the joker, but right now it was helping him get over the dark happenings going on. George had always used humor and sarcasm to deal with dark times. TANNER WILLIAM WEASLEY

walking away signals defeat standing your ground is stupidity
| "of course not uncle" tanner said with a smile and a slight roll of his eye. he did think he was going to get in the way a little, keeping his eye on most of the people who came into the store but he knew george was a smart man, tanner was only here to do his job. "i don't know, remember when i got lost in the back because of something or other? i was gone for hours. drove my mother mad trying to find me" he said, smiling a little at the childhood memory. he had so many of them. most of them to do with his family which wasn't a bad thing. not at all. tanner laughed a little. "did you just realise that you yourself come into this store day in and day out?" he asked, teasing of course. when they talked about ginny tanner grinned a little and shrugged. "yeah but she always told us you were never very good at it" he said, leaning back into his chair and taking a small piece of candy again. "fred is too much like you i think, not a sensible bone in his body" he said, joking again. he sensed his uncles nerves and was going to follow along with it, people had many different ways about how to deal with the happenings of the world. some, like his uncle liked to joke around and turn things into laughter. tanner like some on the other hand withdrew into themselves, threw themselves into work and put on blinkers to the outside world. it's just who he was. "you might start drawing in a new dynamic though? all the girls madly in love with your son might start thinking this place is cool" he said with a grin, chewing the candy and eyeing his uncle with joking behind his eyes. tagged: (@george) words: (typed) outfit: (clothes) notes: (n/a) |

George smirked about the time Tanner got lost in the back. "I admit you worried us all, especially me," he said. "I had just gotten in some new products and thought you had damaged them." Again, George was joking. When Tanner called George out on what he said about people with no life at his shop, George just shook his head. "You always were a sharp one," he said. George smiled about not being good with the bogey curse. "That was always your Uncle Fred's area of expertise," said George. "I was good at the curses that had one puking up slugs. I was inspired after Ron's little mishap his second year at Hogwarts."
When Tanner spoke of Freddie drawing the girls, George laughed a bit. "My shop is cool... at least to the complete nutters who like a good prank anyway," he said. "But if he does draw the ladies, I'll be sure to rid him of that annoyance right away. I have some whoopie cushions that expel three different varieties of stenches."
George then got a tad serious... yes, George. "Any more word on this Dark Lady?" he asked. "I haven't been too fond on the idea of her harming my family. Merlin knows I've already lost more of them than I ever wish to." Referring to Fred again of course. TANNER WILLIAM WEASLEY
