Arthur Weasley, a very active and social wizard even in his retirement, was told to stay home and get some rest following his ordeal with the poison. True his life was saved, but the poison did some damage to his body and said body had to recover. And that meant, Arthur had to sit around, getting up for a brisk walk for fresh air at the most.
It was driving Arthur nutters. He wanted to work in his garden. He wanted to tinker with the Muggle things he had recently purchased. He wanted to go the Leaky Cauldron and drink with his friends. And most of all, he wanted to see his grandchildren in Hogsmeade!
Arthur tried to follow doctor's orders. He sat and read, and even tried knitting. But he couldn't take it anymore. Finally he rose and headed outside. His bulldog Mad-Eye followed giving him a curious look. Arthur turned and looked at him.
"I don't see the harm in working in the garden," he said. "The doctor said I needed rest and fresh air. Well I can get fresh air in the garden and it's a lot more relaxing than sitting about doing nothing!" And with that, he made his way outside.

Daniel had waited a while before going to visit Arthur. The two of them had been becoming friends before Arthur's untimely poisoning, and Dan had been unsure of whether or not he should visit. But, after thinking it through, he decided some fresh bread and a few vegetables would never go amiss, and he Apparated to the Burrow.
He expected to find Arthur in bed, or at the very least in an armchair with his feet up, but instead he found him doing something that looked strenuous even to Dan's healthy muscles in the garden. He walked over a little quicker than he might otherwise have and greeted his friend. "Arthur! Hey, it looks like you're recovering well. I brought you some stuff, I thought it might be useful for umm.. soup or something..." He looked the other man over, his eyes searching out signs that he might actually have to take Arthur to hospital for a second time. "Didn't the doctor say you should rest up?"

Arthur was already whistling away in his garden when Daniel arrived. He was enjoying himself quite a bit, and for the moment, didn't feel any physical regret for going out there. Mad-Eye was glad to be outside too. His walk earlier was only a brief one. The bulldog laid there and watched his master work. His head then raised when he heard Daniel come in. Arthur himself then noticed.
"Ah, Daniel, my savior!" he said, stepping over to embrace his friend. He looked at the food he brought. "You didn't have to do that, but thank you. Trust me, Molly will certainly make something fine out of those."
He was then about to step out in the garden when Daniel expressed his concern about Arthur not resting. He expected people to display such concern, and he was ready to tell Daniel the same thing he told Mad-Eye... well something similar.
"I've been sitting in that chair all day," he said. "I read two entire books, and I knitted quite possibly the most hideous sweater ever. I almost went mad. If the doctor wants me to get better, then he needs to let me do what I enjoy, and that's working in my garden."
Arthur gave him a nod and made his way out.
