Wallace was excited. Thalia and himself had been going out for just about a year and what better way to celebrate such a thing if not to go to a ball together. The Eve of Lights Ball was going to be fantastic. He was going to changed into some nice clothes and take his girlfriend out to dance. So this meant that he had to find his dress robes somewhere in his trunk. His mother always packed them away for him in case of needing them. It was better to have such things and not need them than it was to need them and not have them.
Wallace had come down to the Slytherin common room and went up into the boy's dormitory to change into his dress robes. A nice black button up undershirt that was paired with a pair of nice black slacks and a lighter black jacket. Wallace hadn't been shaving a whole lot this year either. Everything had kind of grown in to look nice. Or at least Wallace believed it made him look nice. He looked into a mirror and straightened his hair, or well more of put gel in it and made it just messy enough to make it look good and not silly.
The seventeen year old deemed himself decent enough to go to the ball, it really wasn't that hard of a thing to do. He was pretty much pleased with himself when he rolled out of bed and didn't do a thing, including actually putting on clothes. If he could go to classes in just his underwear he honestly probably would. He wasn't sure that Thalia would appreciate him coming to the ball in his underwear looking like he just woke up even though he'd been awake the whole day. Wallace was what some people would say is a bit strange. He's a good guy in the end with so very strange ideas. He was one of those people who didn't care what other people thought though. What he liked, what he said was what he did and there was no arguing.
Some nice black shoes were pulled onto his feet and he made his way back out of the dormitory and then to the common room before going upstairs to the Entrance Hall. He had asked Thalia to meet him at a table within the Great Hall so they could dance, get some food, enjoy the dance together. Wallace hasn't exactly been the best dancer around but he knew how. One perk to growing up a pureblood with money was you had to learn what your parents wanted you to. They had the money to make you learn certain things like taking dance lessons. Wallace was pretty sure that Gisella was the only person who knew he had to suffer through dance lessons. But for now he would dance with his girlfriend and he would enjoy it very much.

It had nearly been exactly a year that Wallace Sinclair had first asked her out. As the blonde got ready, she smiled at the memory. It wasn’t what the blonde had initially thought. If she was incredibly honest, she hadn’t expected it in the slightest. She’d been walking in the castle with the intention of heading to the library after class. She had had all her books on her, and, realistically, hadn’t looked her absolute best. That’s why it had been such a surprise to her when Wallace had popped out in front of her. She hadn’t exactly…screamed, but she had jumped up in a startle. All the more so when he opened his mouth and spoken to her. Thalia didn’t think that her jaw had ever dropped so much, or that her face had ever turned so red. She must have stuttered her reply, and hugged her books to her all the closer. She’d replied with a not-so-brilliant, “Y-yes, of course.” He had been all that she could talk about for the following month, though she had tried to keep him from Ali and Katrina for a while.
But, she hadn’t been able to keep herself from telling Andrea anything. She had found the brunette Slytherin within a matter of minutes and confessed everything that she could, eyes bright and cheeks still red. Thinking about it now, Thalia mused that he had asked her to the dance in much the same manner. She had already assumed that she was going to go to the ball with him, but the way he had asked her had her laughing. Thalia had been raised with the thoughts that she was going to be courted. Realistically, she had turned her nose at such thoughts, but that was how she had grown up; with manners and professionalism. That was why she always laughed at Wallace’s own mannerisms. He was raised similarly to herself, yet he acted differently. Thinking of him made her speed up her process. She tapped on her head with her wand quickly, giggling to herself when strands lifted, braided, and folded themselves into the hairstyle she had imagined.
She slid into the silver v-necked dress, smiling as it trickled past her legs and down to the floor. When her mother had sent it to her, it had still had the laces across her back. Afterwards, she grabbed her shoes, tucked her wand into a holster that rendered it invisible until she drew her wand from it. She burst through the doors and made her way down the stairs quickly. There were plenty of girls and boys making their way down as well, but none moved as quickly as she did. She was moving quickly with the intention of finding Wallace, after all. She sucked in a quick breath once she spotted him, however, and slid on the shoes. It would have been undignified of her to appear in any other way, after all. She made her way through the doors of the Great Hall, walking calmly passed people until she could find him again. Once she did, Thalia grinned and moved forward, using her hands to cover his eyes.
He was still quite a bit taller than she was, but the hells helped her do this. She leaned around and moved forward quickly, pressing a quick kiss against his cheek before stepping back and. “Look at that – Wallace Sinclair earlier than me.” She grinned teasingly, poking at the front of his suit and liking very much the person she was looking at. “If I weren’t so enthralled by your pretty face, I might tease you even more. Back to not shaving, are we?”

Wallace smiled as he looked around the area. He was so shocked how much he was going to enjoy this. The young man didn't care about a whole lot but there were two things here at the school that were his favorite things in the whole world. Gisella and Thalia. He was surprised how much he came to like Gisella especially over the years especially how they had been raised.
Soon he had felt someone place hands across his eyes and a smile came to his face. Those hands could only belong to one person and he felt a kiss placed on his cheek after she moved around him. His eyes glanced up at her as she told him that he was earlier than she was all the while poking at his chest. She would continue teasing him if she wasn't so pleased with the way he looked. He thought he looked rather dashing as well. ”To be fair though I wasn't the first person here,” he told her, ”so I wasn't early, just earlier than you.” He gave a wide grin before he kissed her lips for a few moments. His arms wrapped around her tightly and he placed his forehead to hers. ”Pretty face? As if, I mean look at you, I look like a homeless man compared to you,” he told her after the kiss broke.
He ran his hand against the light scruff he had been keeping neat but not shaving. ”Yes, I rather like it, makes me look a bit older, I thought since I'm going to be eighteen year in a few weeks it'd be nice to look older, otherwise I think I look like a schoolboy,” he said. This was despite the fact that he was still in school.
He pulled out of the hug and held her hand. ”Thanks for coming to the dance with me,” he said with a smile. His free hand went up to play with her beautiful blonde locks. She was the most beautiful person he'd ever seen. ”Look at me now, here at the dance with the Head Girl, if you'd told me that two years ago I may have laughed in your face,” he said with a grin. He was happy to be here with Thalia. He didn't know how many times he could say it but Thalia was absolutely perfect. She helped complete him because she was intelligent and beautiful and actually ambitious. She was everything that he wasn't. He was lazy and he got bored easily and he didn't have the ambitions that she did.

It wasn’t as if was hard to be getting here earlier than she did. She had had all sorts of things to do. She wanted to be a little childish and cross her arms over her chest and pout at his words, but that wouldn’t have been sophisticated or adult like at all. And, well, if Wallace wanted to grow out his facial hair so that he could look like a man, than Thalia would oblige and refrain from acting like the somewhat spoiled girl that she was. (Although, she had to admit that there were people out there that were a lot worse than she ever was or would ever be.) So, perhaps it was that the girl was pretty used to getting things to go her way. It asn’t as if she hadn’t worked for every single minute that she did something like that. There were very few things that frustrated her more than when people claimed she hadn’t worked her hardest for something that she had really wanted. The only exception, that really served to prove that point, was Wallace…and that was because she hadn’t realized that she’d wanted him.
But, now that she had him, she had a hard time imagining a time where she wouldn’t want him to be with her. It was true that the blonde tended to be stiff and often acted as if she had better things to do than be around anyone, but the façade always seemed to melt away as if it hadn’t been there to begin with when she spent time with Wallace. For example, she giggled when he wrapped his arms around her. Without even a moment of hesitation, she let her hands snake up his chest and wrap themselves around his neck. Thalia let her nails play with the back of his hair almost lazily. “Sorry. I got caught up in stuff, and people wouldn’t leave me alone and get ready. I tried to get here as fast as possible. I guess you didn’t wait too long?” Because, Merlin, she would have felt awful if he had been down here for half an hour or so. Some of the younger girls might have gotten all excited and tried something, and then they would have really been looking at someone new. That was another thing that kind of surprised Thalia.
As far as she knew, she had never really been the jealous type. Perhaps it had just been that she had gotten used to having Wallace around and smiling when his name was mentioned that she disliked when the younger girls whispered about him. Though, of course, Thalia would never worry about that sort of thing. “Flattery, Wallace, will get you everything.” She beamed up at him, feeling her face flush a little. “Just, realize that I would never go anywhere with someone who looked homeless.” Because, even if she wasn’t as prideful as some of the other girls she spent some time around, her upbringing would have made her neglect a relationship with someone who cared little for his appearance and let a huge, disgusting beard take over his face. “I love it.” She smiled, bringing her hand down to rub her palm against his jaw. Sure, it tended to scratch her a little when they snogged, but she couldn’t help but like how distinguished it made him look. “Can’t have you look too young, after all. People would think I’m some sort of cougar.” Which, while might have been true as she was a couple of months older than him, couldn’t help but like when people assumed he was older.
It wasn’t that hard of an assumption to make if one looked at the two of them for long, anyway. Thalia was smaller than he was, technically, and generally followed along after him. In her mind, she was definitely the one who led the relationship, but she didn’t mind when he held her hand and gestured for her to follow along after him. Like, now, when he grabbed her hand, she couldn’t help but cock an eyebrow at his words. Was there any doubt that she wouldn’t be going to the ball with him? “Hmm. I don’t even care if you’re a horrid dancer, Wallace. You will definitely spin me around the room at some point.” Her voice wasn’t threatening in the slightest, but she couldn’t help but squeeze his hand to let him know that she wasn’t joking about it this time. Even if it made her feet hurt at the end of the night, she’d be damned if she didn’t make him dance with her. “It’d probably be the same with me. If someone would have told me that I’d be dancing with some devilishly handsome homeless man, I’d probably think something made them go mad.” She rocked a little on her heels before laughing, leaning forward and placing another kiss against his lips. At this rate, she was certain she would get in trouble for the amount of public display of affection she showed with him. “But, I’m glad I am, here, with you.” She clarified.
