The redhead felt a little disappointed when he said that he read mostly non-fiction though she had to admit that he had a point. They did live in a world that Muggles only dreamed of in stories and film. “I fear I am the opposite. I love reading stories of magic and trolls and dragons. Sure we have them in our world, but I find it quite enjoyable to see how the Muggle authors get things wrong. Even magicfolk like us write fiction stories that are wonderful books. I just feel like words have a powerful magic of their own that few have discovered.”
Her cheeks flared up again, causing her to duck her head. She hadn't meant to explode into such a passionate outburst. But she refused to apologize as every word was true. “I just mean...I like books.” she finished lamely.
Kaelyn grabbed at the change of subject to his dancing. She found him quite talented and truly wanted to learn but she held back for a moment when he offered his hand to her. She wasn't sure if that was a good idea. Didn't pair dancing require a lot of touching of the hands, shoulders, and waist? She frowned slightly. The only time she'd done any thing close to that was when she'd attacked her childhood friend with a novel many years ago and she swore that was out of self defense. After a brief pause, she nodded her head pressing her hand into his and standing up.
“It's obvious that you do, it has payed off.” she said in response to his mention of practicing hard. “That sounds wonderful. I will try to be a good student and pay attention. Since your skills have captured my interest.” she murmured, her voice lilting in a slight tease.

Kae had a point as well and Mat had to admit that. There was more than one way for a mind to be inventive. Mat just tended to lean toward the less imaginative side.
"If you enjoy them, Kae, I'm sure they are wonderful," he said sincerely. "How is it said here... everyone has their own cup of tea? And there is nothing wrong with enjoying reading. I believe more people should see it as something other than an obligation for classes."
When Kae said learning some steps now would sound wonderful, Mat smiled, but then went into instructor mode as he had with Ulani.
"Alright," he said. "Stand next to me and we'll begin with a few simple motions. They may be a bit awkward at first if you are not used to dancing, but they can become fluid very quickly and it will be like riding a broom." Mat displayed the simple motions, slowly at first so that Kae could see them in detail. He would pick up speed as she learned.
