Embracing the life of a seer had not been an easy task for young Ellie. For so long she had come to believe that she was nothing more than a mental case, it was only in the past four years that she had begun to understand the truth. While Hogwarts had helped to explain the strange happening in her life as being the first signs of her magic showing through emotional flux it had taken a bit longer to explain that her vivid night terrors had been anything but. It was through the advice of another student that Ellie had sought the class of Esmeralda Mynk.
Divination had been what Ellie considered a bit of a mixed blessing. While she had started to understand the entirety of the truth of her nature she also learned there was no stopping it. She was going to have to live with having visions for the rest of her days. But with time acceptance grew in the child. She had come to fear her visions less, though many she did not understand. Faces of strangers and happenings of violence it was as if she saw pieces to a puzzle but did not have the full picture to go off of. She wondered if a day would ever come where she would finally understand just what she was given this gift for.
As her classmates filed out of the class room Ellie lingered. She'd been feeling distressed lately. Clutching her tarot deck to her chest Ellie rose from her table and walked across to the room towards Professor Mynk. Her pale fingers were quite the contrast compared to her deep megenta deck with golden lines crossing between the sun which held the moon. "Professor," She spoke, her voice soft spoken, "I was wondering if I could consult with you." Having drawn the ace of cups reversed all day she knew she could no deny the unsettled feelings she was having. The question was, what was causing it? Or better yet, did Esmeralda have a way to find the answer?

Mynk was sitting at her desk and grading papers, her loyal cat Medusa sitting beside her. Again, she was showing signs of not sleeping well. She had gotten two, maybe three hours of undisturbed sleep at night at the most. Strong tea was basically keeping her going. The reason for this had been the same as it had been before Minerva disappeared... The visions... the constant dark visions. Hogwarts' fall to an evil far worse than Voldemort. The future had haunted her so much that Mynk began to believe a gift she once held dear was now a curse. She began to wish she had never inherited the ability to be a Seer. Mynk was in mid yawn when she heard the voice of the student. She quickly ceased the yawn and looked up at the student. She tried to look as perky and friendly as possible, but it was clear to most anyone that the lack of sleep was coming back on her. "Eleanor, darling," she said. Eleanor was a Seer as well, and he wanting to meet with Mynk would no doubt be for good reason. Mynk needed to be alert and possible. "Please come over and sit down. How may I help you?"ELEANOR CORDELIA WORRALL

Ellie smiled politely when Esmeralda acknowledged her. Sometimes it was easy for the young girl to feel as if she was an annoyance to her Professor - after all people seemed to often get annoyed by her tendency to frequent their company. But the times she sought out Esmeralda were not like the times she sough out her 'friends', or classmates. Who else could Ellie turn to thought? She hardly knew that many students who were blessed (or maybe cursed) with the gift of the sight, Esmeralda was the light in the darkness, a beacon of sorts.
"I'm terribly sorry, Professor, its just -" Ellie paused and took a moment to seat herself in front of Esmeralda's desk, "its just I wasn't sure who else I could turn to." Ellie clutched to her tarot deck nervously and glanced over at Medusa. Even though she was finally understanding that being a seer was nothing to be ashamed of Ellie was still tying to figure out how to accept what and who she was. "The dreams - or visions, I'm not sure which are which really, they're so dark and I'm not sure...I thought maybe the cards, they might help me but-" Ellie stumbled around her words. In maybe ways Ellie was little more than a lost child trying to find her place. "I just cannot shake this feeling, Professor, the feeling that something terrible is going to happen." She'd mean to ask a question, or ask for reassurance that she wasn't just paranoid. That's what they had said her whole life though, she was nothing but a paranoid schizophrenic.

(No worries) Mera listened patiently as Eleanor went over her issue. It seemed the girl was experiencing the very thing Mynk was... the dreams and visions of darkness to come. Mynk sighed and thought of what to say as Medusa looked back and the girl and let out a single meow. Finally, she felt Eleanor would need to know to the truth... well in a sense. "Eleanor," she said. "When a Seer is plagued with dark dreams or visions, methods of Divination such as Cartomancy offer little comfort. In fact, the results they show only re-enforce the visions. As I have said many times, being a Seer is both a blessing and a curse. More often than not, when one sees the future, they see what will happen... not may. While in some cases we can do something to change it, usually all we can do is prepare for it."Mynk knew that was probably not the answer Eleanor wanted, but Mynk was also one who didn't BS her student. After all, she had spent many years proving to many people that what she was and the subject she taught were both legit and not a joke or sham. "If you wish to, could you tell me what you saw," she said. She was quite curious if it was something similar to what Mera had seen. ELEANOR CORDELIA WORRALL
