Born as the eldest biological child in the Blenkinsop, Matthew Eri Blenkinsop was raised a hardworking young farm boy. Eleven months senior to his younger brother he was just as wild. How could you not be when you grew up in such an open world like a farm? Those roots would always stay close to the young man. Unfortunately while he was wild he was also rather mellow when compared to his younger brother Jacob. He also never go the love of animals that his brother had. Sure it was cool, it was interesting but he was honestly much more interested in other parts of a farm. There were plants that were grown, ways to make a farm survive as well as the people who lived on it. He was curious in the way things worked not just the fact that they did. He liked to build things, he loved to take things apart.
Matthew was five when Abigail was born. Matthew enjoyed his younger sister very much but still he was closer to his brother. Jacob was a little more over protective than Matthew. Honestly the older boy had always just been a little odd when talking about a boy who was raised on a farm. As a young boy he helped out his mother and father around the house and elsewhere on the farm. All of which he did when he wasn't off at school learning his lessons or doing his homework. He became quite the studious of children. Not quite learning the same social skills that his brother would get from school instead he got into trouble often because he found himself finishing work early and finding other more interesting things to do with his time. The classroom computer when he was eight was completely dismantled by him to figure out how it worked. This was often that he took things apart.
The year before he was due to go to Hogwarts another girl joined their family. His parents had always been the most wonderful, caring of people that he knew. Look at their farm after all, so very many different animals of all kinds there. Vera was given up by her own parents because she was a squib. She had no magic, but Matthew didn't understand why people couldn't want their own child just because of that. He was ten at the time. She was two years younger than himself.
Arguments had come and arguments had left but in the end all the Blenkinsop children got along fairly well. Matthew got into it a bit with Jacob but that's what brothers were supposed to do. They were supposed to fight and not get along at times but in other times be the best of friends. Matthew was the first to go off to Hogwarts and he met some people on the train. This was when he began to pop right out of his shell. When they got off the train and rode in the boats across the Black Lake and they walked up those steps to the Great Hall before standing in line to get sorted. Soon his name was called and he was sitting on the stool. The sorting hat had a difficult time for him, stuck between Ravenclaw and Gryffindor but in the end decided on Gryffindor saying that it would prove more of a challenge for him. He didn't understand it all but he was off to a good start.
He kept good friends throughout the years, took as many classes as possible. His school life was awesome in all honesty. He loved his friends, he loved his classes. He even enjoyed having his siblings there. Then before the start of his fourth year, his uncle died in a dragon training accident. Their cousin Wyatt joined them in their family. Matthew grew fairly close to his cousin in the last few years of his school. OWLs was a year that was a little difficult. Matthew often found himself buried in a book reading as much as he could and soaking in as much information to make sure he would pass all he could. In the end when he got his marks he did very well. Passed all but one of his OWLs, Divination, that was okay he didn't like that class anyways. He only stuck through with it because he didn't want to quit it. He had a summer to figure out what he wanted to do with his life. That was when he decided on working for the future of magical law. It wasn't that he was always interested in it but more that he'd became interested in it because he didn't want to work on the farm the rest of his life. He wanted a life of his own, one that he made for himself.
When he was in his seventh year he worked hard for NEWTs and did well on most of them. A couple of them were not exceptional but in the end they were good enough to get him where he needed to be. Upon graduation from Hogwarts Wyatt and himself decided to go off backpacking through the Alps. Beautiful places were seen, lakes, rivers, the snow, everything. It was one of the best experiences that he'd ever had. They visited the small towns that existed, used the public transportation that was available. It was just incredible, and experience that everyone needed to have at least once.
When they got home they found out the barn had caught fire and Vera and Jacob had been injured but were well and alive. He stayed home living in the bedroom he'd always had during this time. He worked on getting the job in Magical Law at the ministry and kept helping his father out on the farm. He was never as into this as his younger brother but he worked hard on it all. Not long after the end of the next year was his brother off in South America working with dragons. After what happened with their uncle their mother was understandably worried. Matthew decided then wasn't the best time to leave home either. It was best to stay home and make sure that his mother was all okay with everything. He also enjoyed keeping near his family. He went off to work at the Ministry each day and helped his father out each night.
Life was meant to be lived. Only a year later did his father fall ill. Jacob had come home for a visit but ended up taking over the farm while their father was ill. Now it was a while for him to get better and Matthew was slowly finding himself pulled in many directions, the most important thing was his father getting well though. He worked more at the ministry and less at the farm but more time spent with his father telling him stories. His father got well and then Jacob left. One thing that Matthew found out was he could not continue staying at home all the time. He needed to live his own life not putting it all on hold for everyone else. So in conclusion he ended up taking all his savings and purchasing a home not too far from his childhood farm. It was also a farm property but one that he didn't fill with the animals that his father's farm had. In fact all but a little part of the property was leased to a muggle farmer who needed the grass that grew in the field for hay and he began to work on changing the barn from a barn to house animals to changing it into a second home. A place that could make his home well very much his.
Now when he isn't working at the Ministry or home working on his home he is over at his parents for dinner or really just to spend time with his family.
