What had she gotten herself into? As the days passed Bryony's temper had cooled and with it came sober thoughts and cleared judgement. It was this clarity that allowed her to think back and realize just what she had gotten into, or at least a fraction. Was this regret she was feeling, or was it something else? Her mind was swimming in conflicting feelings and emotions. At least she was thinking clearer and not in a clouded haze. Preston had that effect on her though, he made rational thought impossible, her choices were in the moment and rash. That was how people got into trouble. That was how she had gotten herself into this trouble. The full moon was hardly a concern for Bryony, at least before her eventful encounter with Preston. Now she found sleep impossible. She tried not to imagine where the seventh year was as the hours of the night crept by and she tossed in her bed, though mostly she tried her best not to think about just what he was doing. She agreed to stand by him knowing the truth of what he did, of who he was. Still her stomach was tied in a thousand knots, thoughts of Silvia keeping her mind from finding ease. Hour after hour crept by, dawn was fast approaching. She was too restless to sleep though. Quietly she went to her trunk to gather an outfit for the day. It was still an hour most considered the night by Bryony left Slytherin house anyways and headed for the nearest shower hoping to wash away what ever had crept into her mind. Still as she dressed she found no ease to her soul. She walked the dark hallways, wand in hand, creeping quietly. The last thing she needed was to receive detention for being out when it was still curfew. She had intended to head right back to the common room and wait for Preston to return, but something drove her down the halls further away from Slytherin house and closer to the hospital wing. Her fingers twitched around the base of her wand as she walked the hairs on her arms starting to stand on end. She had no reason to feel unnerved and yet she had every reason to. She should have headed back to the common room. She was going to get in trouble, or worse...after all the moon was still out and who knew what dangers lurked the halls. Maybe it was paranoia. But the moment she heard the shuffle of feat she spun around, "Lumos!" her voice was barely above a whisper but her wand lit up. At first it was hard to see as her eyes had grown accustom to the dark, still she scanned the shadows "Preston? Is that you?" her voice was soft a whisper, much like a prayer, into the dark. Of course it could had been anyone, a student, a teacher, an abomination...She gripped her wand tighter and held her breath, hoping this had not been yet another stupid impulsive action. words: 510 tag: PRESTON JANDON SHERWOODooc: here we go >.>

Preston was tired, he had been on mission non stop for the past two days and he was glas the full moon was done. He had eaxctly twenty eight days untill the next one and he mentally groaned, crushed brushed knuckles flexed around his hunter dagger. He was pretty sure he broke his left hand wrist but that was the blessing about being ambidextrous, he could cope. Stifling back a yawn he snuck out the hospital wing and walked quickly towards the slytherin common. He took a second to look over himself in the dark, some of his animagus traits appeared in very small amounts in his human form. From what he could make out his dark shirt was soaked in what could be seen as swest, but he knew what it really was. He could smell the rust and taste the cooper everytime he licked his now healed lip.
He heard the light footsteps of someone and assumed it was a girl, knowing his luck he would run into one of the girls he was trying to keep his occupation from, even though one of them already knew, it didnt mean he wanted her to see him like this. He hands were still bloody and the knife in his hand had dried blood, he was surprised the hospital wing floo was open and unattended or he wouldve been in trouble.
PJ snorted and rolled his eyes "if I was a physco serial killer, I wouldn't have answered, further more...strange noises in the dark you cant go investagating and gosh can you lower your wand" he asked squinting at the girl standing in front of him. They hadn't talked much since the day in the library he was busy with damage control and he was sure she was still up set with him.
Why did he even try? Surely her foolish action would be the death of her and it wouldn't be his fault, though he was sure it would somehow link to him. Sighing he shoved his freee hand into the pocket of his sweatpants, and waited for her answer.

Bryony exhaled the breath she had found herself holding when she heard his arrogant voice. Serial killer. She didn't even want to point out the irony of his word choice. Instead she just pursed her lips and ignored the blatant truth before her. "Nox." She muttered before she found her self enveloped in the darkness again. Temporary blindness. There was a certain comfort that came with the darkness, and yet there was a certain unease that lingered. She'd gotten a good enough look at him, the dark stains on his clothing. It could be anything, or it could be the one thing she knew it was. She swallowed the lump that was forming in her throat. How long could she deny it? Serial killer. Her eyes started to adjust to the dimness of the hall, she could make out his outline and some of his features if she squinted. "I wasn't investigating - per say." She muttered. "I just thought...maybe it was a teacher." Lies. Or well, mostly a lie. She'd be damned if she admitted to being concerned for his well being though, or worried that he wasn't going to come back. "Who cares if I was investigating, its not like you should be roaming around in the dark yourself." She huffed. She looked in the direction she knew he was in and slowly stepped closer. Could she actually smell the blood on him or was that her mind playing a trick on her? "You're hurt." Her words came out more gently than she had intend. The concern she was trying so hard to conceal was showing through. "Aren't you?" She wanted to tell him he should go right back to the hospital wing but, he couldn't do that, could he? There would be questions, questions that would demand answers he couldn't give and not because he lacked them. It felt wrong in many ways, feeling concern for him. How had he been hurt? Was there someone out there just as hurt, or worse? She tried not to think about it. How could she after all? Thinking about it made it seem more real, actually it just made it real. This was what she agreed to. The blood on his hands was not stigmata, it never would be. PJ rolled his eyes as she unlit her wand, his eyes adjusting to the dark once more. In all honesty he was too tired to fight with the shorter girl, he just wanted a shower and his bed. Unfortunately, fate was cruel and Bryony was nosey but he already knew thay due to experience. He smirked in the darkness when she noticed the blood and didn't even comment on her half-truths, they couldnt get into a scream match in the hallway.
"Eh, whatever you say Ony, but you should know this is the easiest spot to get caught, its closer to the exit." he smirked and shrugged.
"I have a vaild reason for being out, I was roaming I was on my way to my dorm." Of course he was lying because he was in dire need of a shower but the blood would come off with a few cleaning charms and freshing charms would hold him over until morning.
His eyebrows shot up at her observation "just a few scratched and a broke wrist, nothing too extreme" why did she even care, didn't she get that a few people had lost their lives tonight? Did she honestly care that little or was she still trying to pretend that she could handle this, he wondered how long it would be until she broke. A person could only hold on so long before they shattered, he was inches from hitting the ground himself.
