Peter j was at a standstill, quidditch team, CoM club captian and still not statisfied with himself. He had tagged up most of the school but it was gone with the hour, nothing had been traced back to him and he was bored. Nial was his only true friend and pretty soon his sister would be gone.

Laying down on the rough stone he looked up at the stars and hummed to himself, he knew what was wrong, he had saw her, all happy as can be with that stupid seventh year, of course she was a seventh year too and it was all his fault for trusting her but he couldn't help but hate how he was everything he wasnt. She had gone for the good boy, safe and wholesome, someone her parents had picked. He had changed for her...his own parents worried about his new interest all for a girl who changed her mind.

"im so stupid nial...why couldn't I see how fake she was?" Nial just looked at him and patted him on the arm "loves is for squares amigo" peter laughed and rolled his eyes. "Oh, so you're spanish now, and yeah I know...still I just want one interesting girl to appear"

He stopped talking to his pet monkey when he heard footsteps but then thet stopped "Might as well come out, I heard you" he said with a sigh, his peace was ruined.

Winter skies held the brightest stars. Of course once the holiday approached and she was back in Birmingham the stars would be next to impossible to see from the city lights. Ellie knew if she wanted to enjoy the beauty of the sky she needed to do it now. When night fell Ellie pulled a knitted hat onto her head, wrapped her house scarf around her neck and grabbed the first jumper that was in her trunk before sneaking out. Of course curfew was soon and Ellie was terrified of being caught but she wanted to see the stars.

It took her longer than she expected to make her way to the tower. She had expected to find it empty but she had been wrong. She stopped and turned around ready to head back and leave whom ever it was alone, but the way her trainers dragged on the stone alerted them of her presence. Ellie cursed under her breath feeling horrible about intruding on this person's time with the sky. With a sigh she turned around once again and approached, it didn't take long for her to recognize PJ Devoll. Having spent the last five years in the same house and many of the same classes Ellie would have felt like a fool if she didn't know who he was.

She stopped short of where PJ was. She rocked on her heels and fiddled with her hands as she glanced up at the sky for a moment only to look down at the stone she stood upon. "Sorry, I didn't mean to - I was just heading back when I realized someone else was here. Sorry." Her voice was soft as she spoke an apology, maybe it wasn't necessary after all this wasn't PJ's tower but Ellie tried hard to be mindful of others. "Its just, this is the best time of year to view the sky, the cold air makes for clear skies after all, I can leave though. If you'd like." Glancing up from the ground Ellie searched for PJ's face in the dark unsure of what the boy would want her to do.

Peter J relaxed when a female voice answered, he turned towards the voice and smiled when he saw it was Ellie. "Nonsense, you can join me if you want or just stay, its not like I own the tower." he put his hands underneath his head after moving his bag of spray paint over to make room for her. She was right, the best time view the sky was during the winter, the snow made the sky so much better. He didn't understand why he wanted to look at them though, he was never going to be one of those poetically romantic guys. He was to damaged to have a normal relationship...it would only end in fire.

"So, did you come out here to think, or just to see the stars?" he asked her, ignoring the comments coming from Nial...it was nice to have human company sometimes. Even if he did love his bestfriend, it was still nice to socialize sometimes...when there wasn't alot of people around. He looked at her and tilted his head to the side, something was off about her, not in the usual way but she seemed troubled...haunted.

Not that it was his problem to try to help, but he wasn't adversed to listening, he was a good listener.

Ellie's lips curled up into a cat like grin as Peter said she could join him. It was still strange at times feeling acceptance from others, maybe the words were simple and meaningless but to Ellie they often meant the world. She had a skip in her step as she closed the space between them before seating herself down on the cold stone beside him. Being Ellie she said close to the boy, a habit of her's never really understanding boundaries. Pulling her knees up and wrapping her arms around them tightly Ellie looked up to the sky and let out a content sigh.

"Hmmm?" With lips pressed together she peeled her eyes from the stars and looked to the boy beside her, her catlike smile still lingering ever so slightly in the corners of her mouth. "Just to see the stars really, they're never this bright in Birmingham. Though, its easy to get lost in though staring the cosmos in the face. Maybe a little of both. Mostly, though, I just like the stars." Ellie's eyes were fixed on Peter as she spoke, as if she was trying to take all of him in, in the few moments she could, trying to memorize every detail of this moment.

"What about you, just admiring the stars or is something clouding your mind?" As she started to think about Peter's reasoning for being under the stars Ellie found herself chewing at her lower lip. Maybe, just maybe, she could be of some help to Peter. "You know, if something is on your mind I could help you clear it up. I sort of have a knack for helping guide people, well, not exactly guiding people more like explaining, well no - its more, well its a gift I guess, helping clear the fog away you might say." Ellie rambled on a bit trying to find the right words. There was a faint twinkle in her eye as she spoke, an eagerness to be of some use.

Pj turned his head towards the girl sitting next to him, she was interesting enough but he never really saw her with anybody. Hufflepuff was a house known for their loyalty and kidness yet not many people in their house showed kindness to what they deemed....social....different. He tried to think of a time where he was surronded by friends but in all honesty he paled in comparison to his sister, she was the outgoing one as far as he was concerned. He joined the quidditch team because he wanted to actually be apart of something, not because he was trying to outshine his sister.

"Actually, I came here to tag the astronomy tower but I got distracted by the stars and Nials smart mouth" "Hey Esè those are fighting words Pj rolled his eyes of course Nial would have something say, he ways had something to say.

"He said hi, tool" Pj said smiling at her and covering Nials mouth as he started to say something probably smart. He bit his lip in thought before turning to his house mate with a big smile. "Wanna help me? Tag the Astronomy tower that is, it'll be fun and its okay if you're artistically challenged, its all good fun" aiming the last part at his monkey who made rude gestures causing PJ to face palm


"Please for give my friend, he's a bit rough around the edges, he isn't use to female company" He said throwing a smirk at best friend befoee laughing and shaking his head, Ellie would start thinking he was crazy if he didnt stop.
