Winter in Scotland was horrible. It was cold, it was dark, and it was damp. Luckily though tomorrow marked the day students could return home for the holiday. Apollo remembered his shock when he returned home in his first year to find Cassandra missing, since then she had been more of a ghost than an actually figure in his life, a distant memory that haunted him ever so slightly. Each return trip home a small part of Apollo expected to see the blonde woman sitting at the family table looking smug as ever, but each time he was just greeted by the same old empty place waiting to be filled. Perhaps that was one reason each holiday was spent abroad, this year Belize would be his getaway. As usual Apollo had found himself too occupied with friends and school work to pack his trunk in advance leaving him to do last minute packing. Kneeling at the foot of his bed before the open truck Apollo was trying to make quick work of a job that really could have used a day or two of attention. There were shirts and trousers that needed folding, books that needed to be positioned just right, countless socks that needed their mates found, more shoes than any normal boy could think to need. How did all of this fit in it to begin with? Apollo wasn't sure. The meowing of his cat drew his attention away from his work, "Bastian, get off." He said pushing the manx cat off his pile of clothes. This was going to take some time. Sighing Apollo scooted over to rest his back and head against one of the bed posts. "Give you three sickles Ryne if you pack my trunk for me." Apollo looked over to one of the other beds in the dorm that belonged to Ryne. Six years of not planning ahead when it came to packing, Apollo might have been brilliant when it came to magic but sometimes the boy could be down right lazy. words:339 tag: RYNE LEE SANDERSooc:

Ryne turn the page of his book as his dormmate moved about the room, he was only half paying attention to the boy as he moved about. He was worried about Natalie or rather thinking about Natalie. He still hadn't asked her out yet, he never got the chance but he would do it before the year was up. He was just distracted, with school, visions and sometimes other girls.
Ryne snorted and waved his wand, muttering a spell under his breath, as Apollo's things began to pack themselves. "Merry Christmas, dont say I didn't get you thing" He said smirking at the boy over his book. He tilted his head to the side, the wheels in his turning.
"Hey Apollo, do you a have a girl?" he asked with a raised eyebrow, what better way to get his mind off Natalie then to help someone find "love".

Domestic charms had never been Apollo's strong point. No, he was more focused on charms that dealt with the mind and spells beneficial to dueling. Leave it to Ryne to show him up one more time before holiday. Apollo just shook his head and dug in his trouser pocket before tossing a sickle at his dormmate. "Give you the other two after I get home and make sure you didn't miss anything." He flashed a cocky little grin at Ryne. Though his grin faded quickly as his face was overcome with confusion "Do I have a - what?" Did he hear Ryne right? Apollo was a romantic at heart, he loved the idea of finding someone who he could connect with and cherish - but in practice this never turned out well for him. Sure he had a few dates in his short romantic life but being someone who struggled to find the value in keeping friends he found it even harder to keep a girlfriend. "No, well, I did. Sort of. There was a girl over the summer, but I guess she is gay or something. What's it to you?" Apollo gave a shrug as he spoke of the girl. Yes there had been that time in Rome with Evie, it seemed like things could heat up between them, but they'd not spoke since and he'd seen her with some girl at the dance. Still what was Ryne trying to get at? Apollo's eyes narrowed ever so slightly with skepticism. words:249 tag: RYNE LEE SANDERSooc:

Ryne tossed the sickle back at Apollo, and snorted. Setting his book down he smirked at Apollo. He had himself had a reputation as ladies man and knew it would come around to bite him in rump when dealing with Natalie, still he never cheated or lied and that was a miracle in itself. He scanned ovee Apollo and shrugged "I've decided to become a match maker, so tell me your perfect girl and ill see if I know one to match."
He sat up in his bed and turned a curious eye to his dormmate. He was so meddling in things he shouldn't be but he found extremely hilarious to set people up with the ones they would marry. Summoning a pad and pencil to list the names of the firl he knew that fit his "friend's" description he waited patiently.

Apollo reached up and caught the sickle as it was tossed back at him with a smirk, well at least he wouldn't have to make up an excuse when he neglected to pay Ryne later. As Ryne explained his plan Apollo found himself looking at his dorm mate with a raised eyebrow, "Match maker? Really?" It was a joke of sorts, surely. And yet Ryne had that look about him. Apollo had to laugh and shake his head as he realize it was likely he could talk Ryne out of this. "No such thing as the perfect girl mate, so good luck with that Besides I'd take a good long book over a night of having to listen to some girl chatter on about why she hates her best friend." Bastian found his way into Apollo's lap. Giving the cat a scratch under the chin Apollo decided he might as well play along, maybe, just maybe, it could be fun. "Shorter girls, that don't talk back. They're a lot easier to handle that those get worked up about everything." Girls like Cassandra. The last thing Apollo wanted was to end up on a date with someone who reminded him of his half-sister. words:202 tag: RYNE LEE SANDERSooc:
