Mother. Slytherin. Rachel Weisz. Pureblood. 38-42
Before she was married Flora was better known as Flora Carrow. Yes like Alecto and Amycus Carrow, except Flora was born into the less rich and less respected part of the family. An unfortunate start for a purist such as Flora. Instead of being wedded off into money and power she got to scrape the bottom of the barrel and find what ever pureblood men were left. And this was how she found Dariell Moonberry, one of the more grounded Moonberry's who had taken to painting instead of some other unsavory career.
They are no love story, at least not on her part. Flora manipulated her husband right from the start, she allowed herself to be seen as something she wasn't and made him fall in love with her thus ensuring that she would carry on a pureblood line. They Moonberry's might have been strange but they were pure in blood. Imagine the nasty shock she got when she came to find out that her sister-in-law was nothing more that a filthy muggle dog.
Needless to say life has no gone exactly as Flora would have hoped. Her husband is hardly a man of great respect, his name is even more worthless than he is. His brother is a mad man married to a filthy werewolf with a half-breed for a daughter, and her own daughter is constantly disregarding her wishes.
Tension has always been high between Bryony and Flora. Flora's has constantly been trying to push Bryony into the life she had always wanted for herself one with power, one with wealth, one where she can have a name that means something. But Bryony has fought her mother tooth and nail because no matter how hard she tries to be the perfect pureblood daughter she just cannot see the world through eyes as cold as her mother's.
Of course then Bryony became involved with PRESTON JANDON SHERWOOD, who was not only pureblood and slytherin but also a hunter - a delightful fact for Flora seeing as her daughter is all too fond of her mutt of a cousin and aunt. Flora's over investment in trying to assure that Bryony didn't mess up an opportunity as grand as a Sherwood led to Bryony shutting her out all the more because she didn't want her to become anymore involved or invested in what ever it was she had going on between herself and Preston. Bryony also was doing what ever she could to try and keep Preston at arms length simply because she hated how he was everything Flora could have hoped for and then some.
While Flora liked Preston, things have gotten a little more - complicated. While it seemed like Bryony was taking steps in the right direction with Preston a pregnancy before marriage seems like more than a couple steps back. Bryony wanted to keep her relationship with Preston a secret from her mother, but there is no hiding something as big as this. Life with the Moonberry's is going to become complicated, between trying to keep a pregnancy under wraps and a rather suspicious death in the family that is to come on top of the usual family drama.
It'd be really great to have Bryony's mother involved in the upcoming plots, and more that are to come down the line! Even if Bryony thinks she doesn't need her, she really does need her mother. Perhaps now more than ever.
If I had to pick five words to describe Flora they would be manipulative, cold, controlling, overbearing, and vindictive. She is a true slytherin (who couldn't have been happier when her daughter was sorted the same) to the core. But there are two sides to every coin, its just a matter of how you look at it.
She has (or had) an identical twin sister named Hestia - its possible she did not survive the battle of Hogwarts or maybe she did and she is married and has children of her own now too.

Perhaps often thought of as the black sheep of the Moonberry's Dariell is more of an artist than he is an inventor or a discoverer. I would not say Dariell is a bad guy, he just happens to be in a bad situation with a bad woman. Flora was not a good match for him even though he thought she was. She has caused a rift in his family and often times pins him against his brother, she has done everything in her power to try and ruin the relationship Dariell had with Merville.
But Dariell is a loyal man, too loyal to leave his wife and too loyal to completely turn his back on his family. His marriage to Flora is strained, to put it mildly. Bryony cares deeply for her father, she takes after him in the ways of art, but she also looks down on him in some ways not understanding why he lets her mother control him in the ways he does.
Dariell is the younger brother of Merville Moonberry, an eccentric inventor of magical items, and by blood is the uncle of @moonberry.
