ellie smith fifteen muggleborn fifth year hufflepuff 8" ebony with dragon heartstring Zacaharis Smith and Renee Gooding were two muggles who happened to be in the right place at the right time. Zach was a software designer and extremely intelligent. He became a millionaire but stayed in his dingy flat he spent his life in during college because of his distaste for change. Renee was a fantastic artist who happened to enjoy culture and good conversation. The two ran into each other at an indian restaurant beneath the flat that Zacharias lived in and instantly hit it off. Zach left that day with Renee's number in hand, and he certainly used it. After two years of dating, the pair finally married with their friends and family as witnesses to the happy occasion. The pair were well established in their careers already when they married and so did not waste time to start expanding their family. It wasn't long before Jennifer Lucie was born - a brilliant baby with pale red hair. Zach and Renee adored Jennifer, but they didn't mind adding another child to the mix. This was what led to the birth of Ellie just two years after Jennifer's birth. Ellie, a pale redhead herself, was born on June 24 and was a frail little thing. In fact, she was born a month early and had to stay on a ventilator to ensure she got all of the oxygen she needed. She was a tough little thing, though, and she pulled through with the support of her mum and dad and big sister who stayed glued to her until she was released to go home. Renee was a bit terrified to bring Ellie home because of all she'd been through, but Ellie eased her by being a very calm and collected baby. Ellie hardly ever fussed, doing so only when hungry or wet, and was an all-around happy baby. Zach and Renee were certainly blessed. Unlike her sister who was mathematically and scientifically gifted, Ellie didn't seem to have the same genetic gifts. Her parents attempted to ease her into math and science to see if they could provoke some inner mental gift, but Ellie never exhibited one. This made her very jealous of her older sister, Jen, and made Ellie want to follow her around all the time to see if she could 'soak up' some of her intelligence. Of course that's not how life works, and so as Jen went on to progress in school quickly, Ellie was plain average in most subjects except writing. English class was where Ellie excelled; she would write poems at home and her 'short paragraphs' for class were always filled with lovely language and excellent use of grammar. Her parents were a bit taken back from it; on the one hand, they were glad that Ellie showed excellence in one area, but on the other, it was on the competely opposite spectrum as Jen. Jennifer was more mentally intelligent with math, while Ellie was gifted in the arts. They were two very different girls, indeed. Ellie was proud of her writing abilities, but when her parents introduced her to the piano, she felt even more proud of herself. She was musically gifted, and that was what was soaking all of her mental capacity. Ellie didn't have a very high IQ like Jennifer, but what she did possess was the gift to mimic music just by listening to it. Ellie mastered 'The Flight of the Bumblebee' at the age of seven and went on to learn more difficult pieces of music. She began writing her own, as well. Music was where Ellie's talents laid, and while her parents were proud, it seemed to Ellie that they appreciated Jennifer's intelligence more. This not only made Ellie envious, but eager and determined to prove that her musical talents were equally important and grand. It seemed that Jennifer was out to get her when once again she proved her skills far surpassed Ellie's when a man came to the door explaining Jennifer would be able to go to a special school. Ellie wanted to go, too, and ran to her room crying when her parents seemed interested in Hogwarts for Jennifer. Ellie felt alone, like all her work was for nothing. She began to resent her parents and her sister. She knew they loved her, but they loved each other more and it made Ellie angry. For the first two years of Jennifer's schooling at Hogwarts, Ellie became much more outgoing outside of her family and gained many friends. She intended on ensuring her own group of support in case her parents couldn't be that for her - protecting her heart at all costs. On her eleventh birthday, however, Ellie received her own letter to Hogwarts. She was a bit bummed which was strange because at first she'd wanted to go so badly. Now that she made a lot of friends and gained her position in her clique of friends as a musical genius, she didn't want to go. Her parents insisted she go as it would hel her as a person, so Ellie went to Diagon Alley with her family and got her things, then shipped off to Hogwarts. Ellie was nearly sorted into Slytherin but was sorted into Hufflepuff instead - for what reason she doesn't know, though many have told her she is one of the most loyal people they've met. She doesn't see it that way, she just puts her friends first. Her time at Hogwarts has been well spent, she thinks. Jennifer showed her around the first year, but by her second year, Ellie had made fast friends. She found a spare piano in an abandoned classroom halfway through her first year when she was accidentally out past curfew. That abandoned classroom is Ellie's little hangout spot where she writes new songs, hoping for inspiration from the people and things around her. As far as classes go, Ellie enjoys Herbology and Potions the most, but she'd never admit it because Jennifer tends to get higher grades in everything. The disappointment of Jennifer scoring higher in El's favorite classes would be too much for her to handle. As far as her personality goes, El is an outgoing, friendly person. She enjoys music of any kind though she particularly enjoys piano. She loves to dance and have fun, and enjoys the occasional sip of Firewhiskey if she can sneak it. Ellie loves flowers, summer, swimming, and pretty much everything a normal teenager does. She loves her friends and family, despite their awkwardness, and doesn't like to be alone. The company of others is what keeps El going. Magic-wise, El really enjoys, and has a knack for, Quidditch. hey guys, my name is LACEY! and I am rocking it at 21 years old, role-playing for roughly 10 years - so i'm pretty chill with anything. i'm in the U.S. EASTERN time zone, and hail from U.S.A. so how about that! currently my character looks just like ARIANA GRANDE or so i am told!
