Catching up with dear sis (Esmeralda)

Saffira had been unable to visit with any of her family for Christmas. She had been working on practice schedules and plays so she could get them out to her teammates early so they could plan around the schedules. So, now that all that was finally done she had sent her owl with a letter to her sister Esmeralda to ask her meet her in Hogsmeade for a few drinks and to catch up.

She had always looked up to Esmeralda and until it was discovered she did not have the seer abilities and got very interested in Quidditch, she had hoped to follow in her footsteps. Since Esmeralda was busy teaching at Hogwarts and Saffira was always travelling to play Quidditch matches they rarely were able to meet up and chit chat so Saffira really missed her big sister.

Saff ordered a drink and sat at a table, looking towards the door for signs of her sister.

Esmeralda couldn't judge Saffira for not seeing her family over Christmas. Most the Mynk Family were in Romania, and with all the Hogwarts business and the situation with Minvera's rescue and getting things back to normal again at the school, she couldn't even apparate there for the big party held at their old home. Fortunately, she could send her gifts and well wishes via owls, and that included her dear sister Saffira of course.

Mera of course received the owl from her sister about meeting her and was delighted to. Hogsmeade was of course quite convenient for her. With her classes done for the day, she made her way there. He entered and looked about, smiling at Saffira when she spotted her. The woman adored her younger sister. She remembered coming home from Hogwarts her second year and seeing her infant sibling the first time. She held there closely then and many times since, now in the form of hugs of course.

"Alo, Saffira," she said, greeting her in the family's native Romanian before embracing her. "I missed you over the holidays. It's lovely to be able to spend some time with you."

Saffira took a drink from her mug and then looked back up to the door in time to see Esmeralda walk in the door. She smiled and waved her over and Esmeralda hugged her, she was so happy to see her older sister. "I know, I missed you as well. I heard that you could not make it back home either. Things going okay at Hogwarts?" she asked a little concerned as she had heard Esmeralda had been busy with things at school though did not know what exactly.

"How have you been? Are you seeing anyone? Catch me up on anything and everything!" she said happily. It was clear she had really missed her older sister, and wanted to know what she had been up to since last they talked.

Mera sighed about not making it back home before ordering a glass of Elderflower Wine from the waiter.

"Da, and I deeply regret not seeing everyone," she said. "But I dare say this has been one of the strangest years yet since I began teaching. I have had so many terrible visions, and then... Minerva's kidnap. Thank Merlin she is alright now."

She then gave a slight shrug as Saffira asked how she was and to catch her up on everything.

"I am a bit better now that things have turned for the better... at least somewhat," she said. "And aside from the kidnap and return of our Headmistress, things have been as they've always been in my classes, teaching a mixture of those who have great potential in the art of Divination... and those who think it is a silly class and an easy high grade. Those are never quite happy when they discover the contrary." Mera chuckled at that a bit. As the wine came, she thanked the waiter and turned back to Saffira. "So tell me, how has life for my talented Quidditch-playing sister been?"

Saff nodded. "Me too." she said about not getting to see everyone. Then Mera mentioned terribl visions and Minerva getting kidnapped. "Headmaster McGonagall was kidnapped?!" she said surprised. She had not heard about that with being busy during Quidditch season. "I'm glad she's okay now, but wow." she said in disbelief.

She chuckled remembering the people that were in class with her and their silly class and easy high grade. She knew her sister better than that. "You can't blame them too much though. Most of them have never met a true seer until coming to your class, so they can't understand how amazing it is." she said with a smile.

Saff shrugged when Mera asked her how life had been for her. "It's been good really, I'm playing Quidditch professionally and even became the Captain of the team." she said with a smile. "I don't have time for much else. Though I still go out for drinks with Ronny from time to time, when our teams play against eachother." she said.

Mera sighed and nodded.

"Yes, there was an attack on the school, and she was kidnapped in the process," said Mera. "The Aurors rescued her, and since then my visions are been less frequent, but they are still there. I hope they can somehow be prevented, but more often than not, what a Seer sees comes true." But not always... thankfully.

Mera smiled when Saff complimented her.

"Multumesc (thank you), dear sister," she said. "You have always made me happy with your kind words."

Mera beamed when Saff spoke of making Captain.

"Captain of the Wanderers, da?" she said. "Saff, that is wonderful! We must properly celebrate sometime, and I must attend one of your games again. Merlin knows I need to apparate about more often. Perhaps now with Minerva safe and things seemingly calming down at Hogwarts, I will have a few more free weekends than usual. You play many games on Sunday, da?" Sunday was usually Mera's official free day where she could do most anything, and fortunately she recalled what the Pitch looked like to apparate there.

Saffira's eyes widened as Mera talked about an attack on the school and McGonagall getting kidnapped in the process. "Is everyone alright at least?" she asked worried.

Saff smiled when Mera said thank you in their family's native tongue. Saff had been in london most of her life and among mostly other brits so had not developed the Romanian accent like her sister, but she loved it and had of course learned the language since it was where their family was from. "Well, it's true." she said with a smile.

Saff nodded when her sister asked if it was Captain of the wanderers. "Thank you Mera, but I know you're busy. I'm happy with your intentions." she said with a smile. "Though I would be happy if you did get the time of course." she added.

She nodded, "Yeah usually on Sundays are games. I'll send you a copy of the playing schedule when I get it." she said with a smile. Despite her saying it was okay and trying to keep Mera from worrying too much about getting to one of her games, Saff was secretly really hoping her sister would come to watch her play as she still looked up to her sister.

"I did celebrate a bit with Ronny Tam." she said. "You remember him? He was in the same year as me, but in Gryffindor. We used to fight all the time but started hanging out after games and became kind of friends." she said.

Mynk nodded to assure Saff that all was well.

"Everyone is fine," she said. "Minerva is still a bit shaken, but how can one not blame her?"

Mera smiled again at how sweet her sister was to her. Was it any wonder that Mera had adored Saff since the day she was born?

"I give you my solemn promise that I will attend at least a few games," she said, and she meant it. The last thing she would do intentionally was break a promise to her sister. "And yes send me the schedule so I can get front row tickets in time."

Mera then raised an eyebrow as Saff spoke of Ronny Tam. She remembered him just a good bit, and how he was seemingly such a headache for her. But something about how they interacted told her otherwise, and she didn't need her powers as a Seer to see that!

"Well... it's nice to know you both get along a bit better now," she said, but her smile said something else.

Saff nodded. "Can't blame her at all." she said. "Even for a powerfull witch like McGonagall it would be terrifying to be taken by the dark wizards and witches, especially the brood I've been hearing about around lately." she said shaking her head.

She smiled happily when Mera agreed to go to a few games. "Yay!" she said excitedly. "I will get right on that when I get back to my apartment." she said happy to have the chance for her sister to watch her play.

Saff blushed when Mera smiled at her knowingly. "I-I finally told him how I felt. He felt the same." she admitted, blushing bright red. "We went on a date." she said all smiles.

Mynk nodded and sighed about what the Black Army had been up to.

"Yes, it is quite frightening," she said, recalling some of her visions of an aligned threat attacking the castle and other places. "It seems so many of them are working together, just as it was when... when HE was such a threat."

Mera returned the smile.

"I cannot wait," she said.

Mynk raised an eyebrow about the date. Her little sister finding a guy she really liked... and it was a longtime rival of hers? Very interesting.

"Well I trust it went well," she said. "As I recall from the press, you both are better known for clashing with one another both on and off the Pitch. Perhaps that is what lit off this... friendly fire, da?"

She saw how much Saff was blushing already, but she couldn't help playing around with her sister. What were big sisters for after all?

Saff's eyes widened at the mention of it seeming like a lot of the dark wizards and witches were working together like when HE was a threat. "If I hear anything while I'm travelling around I'll make sure I owl it to you. Sounds like trouble ahead." she said leaning back and crossing her arms.

She blushed again when Mera playfully picked on her about the date with Ronny. "You could say that." she said with a smile. "We never really clashed like the press said anyway though. It was all in good fun. We used to meet up and drink after games and just playfully tease eachother about how we did." she admitted, blushing a bit again.

"I've always had feelings for him, just never could tell him, and I didn't want to ruin our relationship, rival or not we were still friends and saw eachother a lot." she explained. "But he just came out the last time and said we should try going on a date, and dropping the pretense of teasing rivals." she blushed again just thinking about it.

Mera was happy that Saffira wanted to help, but she certainly didn't want her beloved sister to find herself in the thick of things regarding this evil alliance that had formed.

"If you see any strange happenings, you may contact me about them, but please contact the Aurors as well," she said, reaching out for Saffira's hand. "I of course worry because you are my beloved sister and I want you to always be safe and happy."

Speaking of happy, she could tell Saffira was beaming over Ronny as she spoke of him. She was glad her sister found love. Now if only she could as well.

"I understand that it must have been difficult," she said regarding Saffira having trouble revealing to Ronny how she felt. "But it seems that has been remedied now, and that is what is important. I wish you both the best." She stepped over and embraced her sister, kissing her on the cheek.

Saff smiled. "Don't worry sis. I wouldn't go getting myself into trouble, and I'll send an owl to the aurors as well." she said reassuring her sister. "I'm really happy right now, I don't want to ruin it by going out and getting myself hurt or worse." she said making a face at that idea.

She nodded as she continued blushing, it seemed to be a neverending action as she thought about Ronny. "I honestly wasn't sure for how much longer I could keep my feelings about him quiet." she said. "But I am so glad it's all out in the open now." she said beaming. She hugged her sister back. "Thank you Mera. It means a lot to have your well wishes." she said and she meant it. Mera was her dear sister, and probably her best friend aside from Ronny, who technically wasn't really a friend now but her boyfriend. She blushed as she thought about that. So innocent in her ways.

Mera knew Saffira would be careful. She knew Saffira was a tough lady on the Pitch, but was smart enough to avoid trouble against powerful dark magic users. Still, Mera was family and therefore concerned of course.

"I know you will do the right thing," she said. "Merlin willing you will not have to encounter such wicked men and women."

Mera was happy for her sister, and she had to be the one to give Saffira the blessing. The both shared two brothers who were most likely going to be very protective of Saffira and sure to let Ronny know it.

"If my beautiful younger sister is happy, then I am happy," she said. "I trust the rest of the family will be happy too... even if Diamante and Rubious do not act like it." Mera chuckled about that.

With the meal now served, Mera looked at Saffira curiously.

"If you can stay, would you like to visit the school?" she asked. "I am sure many of the students would be delighted to see you. As I recall, you have many young fans.

Saff smiled when Mera said she knew Saff would do the right thing in that situation. "Yeah, hopefully neither of us do." she said shaking her head. "If what you're saying is true sounds like another mess is headed everyone's way." she said sounding worried.

She smiled when Mera said that she is happy if Saff is happy. "Oh I hope so..." she said before trying to decide if she should say or not. "Because we're officially dating, while we were on our date he asked me to become his girlfriend officially." she said smiling again.

When Mera asked if she could stay and visit the school Saff nodded happily. "Of course! Anything for fans." she said playfully. "Actually I just wouldn't mind seeing the school again it's been awhile." she said with a smile.
