The notes you left in my margins turned from scribbles to scars The eighteen year boy stood inside the 24/7 mart in plaid sleeping pants and a winter's jacket, he seemed transfixed by the glow of the blue light that illuminated the frozen selection of goods. Three in the morning, an hour that Ajax knew he was going to have to get used too, that was what everyone was saying at least. Not that he wasn't used to late nights and little sleep, after all he picked up as many shifts at the hospital as he could since they needed all they money they could get before the baby arrived. So many things to pay for and that didn't even include the wedding which seemed to grow further and further away, reason on top of reason pushing it aside.
Pulling on the handle a wave of cold flooded over him and sent a shiver down his spine. Carefully with while slender fingers he reached in and picked out five different pints and tossed them in the trolley. Pulling a crumbled list from his jacket pocket he did a quick once over - yup every flavor she'd asked for. All that was left was to find the radishes and the pickled artichokes. Merlin this baby had brought about some strange cravings for his dear Isobel.
Ajax had done his best not to doddle, it wasn't as if he was battling a line of people to get through the market - not at this hour. But the half asleep teen did have a bit of a struggle getting back to the right flat. He had ended up at his family home at first and found himself rather confused when greeted by the family house elf. A quick cup of coffee and quarter pint of double fudge brownie helped to wake the boy enough to get him back to their little flat. "Issy! I started eating the ice cream, that's al'ight with you?!" He said as he walked into their home, carefully closing the door and discarding his boots before treading through the house back to their room with the grocery bag in hand.
Dropping the bag by the door Ajax found a wide smile spread across his face as he saw her on the bed, she was in one of his old shirts - it used to be so big on her but now with her belly swollen it seemed as if soon it would be too small. There was no denying the child she carried, though he had yet to bring it up to his parents. "Kaipasin sinua paljon*!" he said jumping on to the bed and wrapping his arms around her stomach before nuzzling his face her swollen abdomen doing his best to push the shirt away from her skin with his face so he could press multiple kisses onto her skin, "And daddy missed you too..." Ajax murmured softly pressing kiss after kiss to her stomach. He was still terrified of what parenthood would mean, but knowing he had Issy...well it wasn't as scary as he had originally been thinking.
Slipping his hands up her sides Aajx trailed his kissed up her body until his lips met her's. "I remembered your radishes" He said with a smile against her lips. Ajax stole one more kiss before rolling off the bed and stumbling over to grab the grocery bag bringing. Seating himself on the edge of the bed beside her he started to pull the different pints of ice cream out followed by the radishes and other assorted oddities she had asked for. It wasn't the first late night run he had made for her cravings and some how he figured it wouldn't be the last.

Isobel huffed as she sat on the bed in the apartment her an Ajax shared, she felt like a whale. Even though it was merely a big bump that took over bbc.co her mid-section she had managed to stay narrow giving the illusion she'd tip over at any moment. It felt like that sometimes, she couldn't even remember what color nail polish her toe nails were. Maybe she should ask Ajax to repaint them for her...knowing him he'd probably go along with it. Still he was taking forever even though he had only left three minutes and twenty seconds ago (yes she was counting) he should be faster. Sighing she summoned her book on plants since she was too pregnant to travel and search for new ones. It was hardly fair she was stuck waddling and eating ice cream but she had to admit she thought Ajax's baby craze was hilarious.
Hopefully she'd actually get two cartons of ice cream, last time he had snacked and she had threw the empty carton at him. In her defense he had eaten the one she wanted most, shouldn't she get first pick? At any rate she had missed and that was a depressing thought, she had to get better aim. Lifting her shirt up she rested her hands on her swollen belly feeling the baby do somersault. Of course the baby would be as hyperactive as it's father. Speaking of hyperactive she heard the man in question enter the house and sighed. He never did anything quiet, it was hilariously disturbing. She doubted he knew how to whisper.
"did you actually save me some this time?" She asked with an eye roll, of course he started without her. Unless she asked for something incredibly strange he "started it" nine times out of ten. She mumbled dork under her breath as he kissed up her stomach, she thought he was cute. "Missed you too, you took foooorever, I thought I was gonna go grey" She said with a snicker, his kiss tasted like ice cream. It was obvious he had snacked.
She smiled and kissed him quickly before taking the bag, the food more important than the silly boy showering her with attention "And thats why I love you" Radishes made the world go round. She opened the closet pint of ice cream and dipped the radish in before taking a bite and moaning. Yep, this was heaven, laying in bed with food and her babydaddy.
