seamus braedan finnigan forty-four halfbood Unspeakable – Keeper of Prophecies 13”, Leprechaun Hair, Pear BIRTHDAY: Forty-Four; June 9, 1980 PATRONUS: Fox ABILITIES: Non-Verbal Magic Seamus Finnigan was born to Cavan and Ailey in Ireland. Cavan was a muggle man who fell in love with Ailey but came to a be quite surprised when he found out she could do magic. Being married into magic had to be incredibly strange for a muggle man. His wife had these powers that could make every day tasks like cleaning so much easier. And having a halfblood child meant that their child could either be a muggle or a wizard. Seamus took after his mother's side and when he was a baby often showed his signs of magic by either getting in trouble or just making some weird things happen. After the initial shock that Cavan went through when finding out his wife was a witch the family was a happy family and Seamus was a happy baby. Other than the normal fits that he threw for food or attention he'd been happy. He'd been a quiet child and quite content at least until he grew into a toddler and then he was a right old mischievous child. Getting into anything and everything that he could get his hands or wriggle his body into. There'd been days when he came inside from playing with toys outside covered in absolute mud. Oh those days his mother threw fits. During the younger part of his childhood. Ailey had taught Seamus how to fly on a broomstick mostly with one of the toy ones that barely lifted off the ground. But in the countryside it was fun to grow on a broomstick. He'd always been talented at flying from the time he learned. Growing up in the Irish countryside was always a pleasant thing. At the age of five his mother and father had agreed that they should let Seamus go to muggle school. Cavan wanted his son to understand his way of life. The way that wouldn't be made easier by magic, while Cavan knew that his son would go off and learn the same lessons as his wife did at that school he wanted Seamus to have an understanding of who he was, how life was simpler not complicated by magic. During those years in school Seamus managed to be the strange kid in the class. Weird things happened around Seamus and people therefore thought he was weird. That was okay though because Seamus had honestly never enjoyed the muggle school. Instead he liked what his mother taught him at home about what he'd learn at Hogwarts in the future when he got his owl. Such a young boy who was so very excited for the rest of his life. The year came when Seamus turned eleven and got his owl to Hogwarts. And soon afterwords he was off to Hogwarts on the train. They'd taken the boats across the Black Lake where some students gossiped about the giant squid beneath the surface and Hagrid had led them across to direct them into Professor McGonnagall's care for the sorting ceremony. As the reached the Great Hall astonishment had come to Seamus' face looking at the decorations and the candlelit ceiling. But soon he was gratefully welcome into Gryffindor by the sorting hat after sitting several good moments waiting for the hat to decide. During his first year at Hogwarts Seamus quickly became known for setting things upon fire with his wand. This would happen many of times throughout his years at Hogwarts. He had grown to be friends with the famous Trio as well as their friends throughout the years at school. One thing that he'd learn well was that no year at Hogwarts would be a normal year. Their first year was greeted by many strange events that had ended up with Harry Potter in the hospital after being attacked by the then Defense Against the Dark Arts Professor Quirrell while trying to obtain some object. Second year was greeted by having Gilderoy Lockhart as their new Defense Against the Dark Arts professor which was just a mess in and of itself. Such a pompous man and releasing Cornish Pixies on a classroom full of students who didn't know how to properly put them away was just a crazy thing that no sane professor would have done. And then there was the opening of the Chamber of Secerts that they'd been told was just a hoax until people started being attacked and petrified. So many thing happened, and Ron's silly broken wand knocked him to the ground during duelling club. And in the same time most of the school learned that Harry Potter was a parseltongue where some people completely freaked out. This was the year that ended with the Chamber being real and Harry helping get Ron's sister out of the depths. These were years that were going to cause stress upon the average person. Surviving Hogwarts was not going to be an easy task. Third year was a bit easier for most people around, with the exception of those Dementors, they were not pleasant in the least bit. They were there to patrol the school grounds because the dangerous Sirius Black had escaped from Azkaban prison. This was also the year that Seamus faced a boggart who took the form of a banshee. Terrifying creatures they were. Floor-length black hair with a skeletal face and that shriek oh that was the hardest thing to get through when he was trying to use the charm to make it less terrifying. Could one blame him of being scared of such a creature. Third year also a time to explore Hogsmeade. His mother had happily signed the permission slip for him to go and gave him some money to buy what he would need. Then there was the night they all had to go to the Great Hall because the Fat Lady had been attacked by Sirius Black. So many questions had been around on how he got onto school grounds and up to the Gryffindor Tower to even go through. So much happened during the year including Professor Lupin being exposed as a werewolf and resigning from his job as well as the escape of Sirius Black again. This year started off normal with the exception of the escape and turned into a crazy thing full of murderers and werewolves. The 1994 Quidditch World Cup was an exciting time for Seamus. A big fan of Quidditch his mother had taken his best friend Dean Thomas and himself to the cup where they were there to support Ireland, naturally. They even had a tent covered in shamrocks to show their support. The Irish team won and that caused a lot of exciting celebrations among the grounds as well as in the Finnigan tent. Some of which led to some of Voldemort's followers to shoot off the Dark Mark above the grounds. Ailey had taken the boys and gotten them out of the grounds before anything bad had happened. So much confusion there had been. Triwizard Tournament, those words struck excitement in the fourth year but only sixth and seventh years would be allowed to participate in the tournament itself. The Bulgarian school Durmstrang had joined them as well as the French school Beauxbatons. Many of the students fawned over the students from the foreign schools, even his friend Ron Weasley made a fool of himself with Fleur Delacour by asking her to the Yule Ball. Seamus had attended the Yule Ball with a Beauxbatons girl that he couldn't even remember the name of now. But the tournament continued with two more tasks the last one of course ending in the famous incident of the death of Cedric Diggory and Harry telling everyone that Voldemort had returned. Very few people believed Harry at the time and Seamus regrettfully became one of them. During the summer between Fourth and Fifth years Ailey was convinced that everything his mother read in the Prophet about how Harry was just wanting attention and the rest of a campaign from the Ministry to keep people from being terrified. This all led from to the confrontation where Seamus called Harry out the night they got back to school. He'd accused Harry of lying and told him that he trusted his mother. This also had been the year that he also wasn't allowed back to Hogwarts. His mother didn't want him under the care of Dumbledore. Seamus was led to believe that both Harry and Ron, who also believed Harry's story, were not sane and they took a while to start speaking again. There was an article in the Quibbler with an interview from Rita Skeeter that showed him the truth. And then his best friend Dean had convinced him to attend the Dumbledore's Army meetings after Christmas break, this was when Seamus learned to conjure a Patronus in the shape of a Fox. Spring had sprung not long after that and Seamus did well on his O.W.L. exams. During sixth year Seamus had tried out for the Gryffindor Quidditch team to be a chaser to take the place of Katie Bell who had been cursed and sent to St. Mungo's. Dean had gotten the position and Seamus was visibly not happy with the decision. Sometimes to say that Seamus was a hot-headed Irish boy would be fact spilling from ones mouth. Seamus was never afraid to tell someone if he disapproved of something, this has calmed in his later years. This was the year that Seamus got to learn Apparition with the rest of the sixth years to take their exams the following year to be able to do it legally. This was the year that Dumbledore died. The famous death caused by Professor Snape had his mother begging him to come home before the end of the school year but Seamus refused and stayed until the end of the funeral until the Hogwarts Express arrived to take students home. And Seventh year was when all went to hell. Supposed to be a happy time during the Hogwarts Career this year was filled with anguish, people were missing and it made the now Death Eater controlled Hogwarts a harsh place. Dean couldn't come to Hogwarts as he was on the run for being a muggleborn in this Voldemort controlled world. For a good part of the year to escape the Carrows most of Dumbledore's Army stayed in the Room of Requirement to avoid the punishments for standing up. During this time Seamus had been beaten in the face that it was bruised so badly it was hard to recognize him. Luckily he still had his voice. Soon it was the Battle of Hogwarts. The students there to fight were going to help protect the castle when Voldemort's army had attacked. Many lives were lost during the battle while Seamus had helped Luna Lovegood and Ernie MacMillan save the Trio from the Dementors to keep them back. He even got to burn the bridge down to try and stop the advances of Voldemort's army. Pyromagic was something that even by accident Seamus had become very good at. Seamus witnessed Harry being dead and cheered with Neville and friends to help provoke Voldemort who had aimed a curse at Hannah Abbott and himself which Harry had protected them. Many friends had died, but many had survived. Good friends stayed close and spoke after the Battle and recovered together. Seamus had stayed with good friends while they helped figure out who was where and helping make the recovery from the war. These years had been wearing but Seamus in the end had become the best man he could and Seamus recovered well. After the battle ended and people began to take back to normal lives. And Seamus had to figure out what to do for work, to start off and get some experience Seamus became a Bartender at the Hog's Head before finding more permanent work at the Ministry of Magic at the age of twenty. He decided an easy but respectable job in the Department of Magical Transportation with the Broom Regulatory Control office. When he was twenty-one he met his future wife Lavender Brown. Well met would be a false word. They'd known each other since their first year where they were sorted into the same house but there was little contact before this time. They'd been married at twenty-five and had their first child when they were twenty-seen. Sarah was their first born and only a year later they had Elizabeth. To say that the Irishman was happy with his two daughters was an understatement. He was so very excited to have children that he could grow old teaching them lessons. This was when Seamus made a career move, one that would be much better on the wallet than working in Broom Regulatory department and instead moved to the Department of Mysteries into the Keeper of Prophecies section. Being an Unspeakable did bring in a good paycheck and he only had to work with a few other people. People that he'd be okay with in the end. As the years passed Seamus has watched his family grow into a right happy family. Living with his wife and daughters and keeping most of his thoughts to himself but always enjoying the reliving of the stories of old and telling his children what happened during his years at Hogwarts. He's never one to miss out on story telling time. His favorites are the stories of why he doesn't like Slytherins. Now at forty-four years old, he's a happy man still living a happy life with his wife and he already has one daughter out of school and another to follow soon behind. Seamus still works as an unspeakable in the Prophecy Hall. Seamus is a proud father of a two girls who were both sorted into Gryffindor and one who has graduated to become a bartender at the Leaky Cauldron. Unfortunately with the threat in the world now, he is joining back up with his Dumbledore's Army friends into the Order of the Phoenix to be able to protect the life that they had. The attacks will mean joining back up in something that he had fought when he was seventeen, now he was willing to make that sacrifice again for the life that he has and the one that he'd grown to love. hey guys, my name is ADMIN JESS! and I am rocking it at 23 years old, role-playing for roughly 10 years - so i'm pretty chill with anything. i'm in the MOUNTAIN time zone, and hail from USA so how about that! currently my character looks just like BED AFFLECK or so i am told!
