he hated reading books on school, well the really complicated ones he couldn't understand. his thoughts were confirmed the night he arrived at hogwarts, having been sorted into the house of his father he'd enjoyed the feast and couldn't wait for meals after that, trying almost everything on the table and almost needing to roll himself back to the dorm every night. of course this got old real fast and after a while he learned what was good, and what was the best on the table. his school work was okay, he passed every class easy enough but he was never a perfect student, he got in trouble for talking in class, for distracting other students and trying to make people laugh, though he was pretty sure that the teachers loved him deep in their hearts. but what he did excel in, was quidditch. he was destined to be the next big thing. his flying teacher told him, his team mates agreed and he couldn't imagine doing anything else with his life after hogwarts. he wanted to win. he wanted to fly and man did he want to play quidditch. it was his seventh year, one of the games leading toward the finals that was being played in a storm. most of the game went alright, though they couldn't seem to get ahead of the other team, staying at a tie for the part of the game he remembers. lighting stuck the field, close enough to ranger that he had been sent flying off his broom and he had crashed down into the bleachers before anyone has noticed he was falling, luckily not hitting any other students that had been watching the game. it almost killed him. he remembers waking up in saint mungo's two weeks later, having been taken there straight after the accident due to the nature of his injuries, too many broken bones for the nursing staff at hogwarts to deal with and so many internal damage that his parents had been warned he might not make it through that first night. but he had, showed them his strength and woken up with no memory of what happened and sketchy details on the game. it took him a month and a half before he was back at school ready to show the world what he was made of, but he never could find the courage to get back on a broom and it shattered him. one night while recovering he'd heard his parents talking while they thought he'd been asleep, saying that he could have been great and now it wouldn't happen. it cut him deep, to know that he'd let them down somehow. he fought through the last of his school term, graduating from hogwarts with no clue on what he'd do after he left, since his quidditch star days were behind him. it took him a while, but he eventually worked out that he would go on to work at hogwarts, training to become a healer there. he started to realise that he wanted to help people the way his sister did, and the healers that had saved his life had too. so that's him, working at hogwarts, living his life as best he can and trying to work up the courage to sit on a broom again. hey guys, my name is SHADOW!
