(Note: So I didn't put an exact date in the app, but at some point, Jacqueline and Katalina were friends and Katalina parted. I'm guessing it was a good few decades ago.)
Normal life. Or at least a normal job. Jacqueline assumed that normal people were known to travel (or rather apparate) great distances to deliver items from one store to another as part of their job. Jacqueline did so from Slug and Jiggers in Diagon Alley to a small apothecary in Hogsmeade, delivering a few potions and herbs the smaller store needed.
Jackie only spent a year at Hogwarts, living among Ravenclaw house and somehow fooling the students there into thinking she was seventeen. She was of course trying to fool people into thinking she was eighteen now. She wondered how long she could pull it off before people wised up. In other words, how long before others had to be told she was a vampire? Still, it was nice to be back in Hogsmeade. She always found the village quaint and charming, a good place to sit and read... and hunt at night without being disturbed.
What she didn't know was that she was about to truly revisit her past there...

* KATALINA ( ROSA ) de la VEGA ,
It was another Hogsmeade weekend trip. Practically everyone in the school ages thirteen and up was flooding the little village. Unfortunately for Kat, everyone in the village was all under the age of fifty, except for her. Sometimes, the fact that she was older than everyone else got really... well, old. Though she did have to say that if her age was the only thing she had to worry about these days then she was doing pretty good. Kat was beginning to feel like herself before the seventies again, and she wasn't sure if that was good or bad but it sure did feel good. On top of that, she had a sort of boy friend type thing to keep her attention otherwise occupied. If she could just stop worrying about all of her blasts from the past then everything would be just perfect. Of course, with a life as long as hers, it was bound to happen.
This was a weekend that she wasn't too excited to go to the little village. There really wasn't anything that was in Hogsmeade that she really wanted to go do or anyone she wanted to go meet. The only reason she was really there was because she took any opportunity to get out of the castle. Don't get her wrong, living in a castle was every little girl's dream, but she wasn't the queen in that castle, so it mostly just mocked her. Now, she could really use a drink. The blond started to trudge through the snow towards the Three Broomsticks. Then she stopped in her tracks.
The smell was in the air. A very familiar smell that brought back a lot of happy memories. There was no way though that the smell could be what she thought it was. Kat started scanning the area for something that she could conceivably assume would be the source. All she could do was follow the scent. Then she saw long brown red hair, and linked the scent to that body. “Well, Holy Hell! Are my eyes playing tricks on me or am I looking at a ghost?” Katalina was flabbergasted with what she was seeing. She had not laid eyes on that girl in damn near a century. “Jacqueline Isis Prynce. I can't believe this!” She ran with human speed to the woman, and nearly tackled her to the ground in a bear crushing hug.

It was like so many decades flashed back at Jackie all at once when she picked up the familiar scent, followed by hearing the familiar voice, and then getting a powerful hug, causing her to drop her package. With supernatural reflexes, she caught in with one hand, using the other to hold Katalina...
And YES, it was Katalina! Jackie remembered meeting her so long ago, and how painful the departure was. Katalina was the only other vampire to befriend her in all the time she had lived since her turn. She stared up at Kat in utter awe as she lied on the ground. But then a smile formed.
"Kat... Katalina?" she whispered. "I can't believe... after all this ti... is it... I mean it would have to be you." Letting go of the package, which she could care less about then, she embraced her friend. "To say I've missed you is a great understatement."

* KATALINA ( ROSA ) de la VEGA ,
Kat heard whatever Jackie was carrying thud in her hand. She was sure that the power of her tackle hug knocked whatever it was out of her hand, but luckily she caught it. Not that it was a surprise, really. When Jackie finally managed to spit out her name, Kat just laughed and got off of her. She straightened her clothes before reaching her hand out to help Jackie up. “You can say that again darlin'. I've missed you too.” She dusted herself off, and looked around to make sure that no one was really paying attention to what just happened. It wasn't everyday that vampires who are actually on good terms with each other reunite in a completely random occurrence. Hell, it wasn't everyday that two vampires were just on good terms with each other. Being a mostly solitary creature, they tended to get into a lot of fights with other vampires competing for a food source. Unless of course they bonded in a clan, or a coven, or whatever the non vamps called them.
She looked at the woman with astonishment. It really was quite the coincidence that she was here. “Damn, what's it been? Nearly a hundred years now?” She wasn't sure if Jackie ever left England, but she sure did. She got the hell out and headed to America, and she was damn glad that she did. Kat discovered a whole new life there, and she was a little sad that Jackie never got to see it. Though, there was some things that she wasn't sure would go over so well with the other vampire. After all, she did play both sides over there. “Come on, pick a place. We have got to catch up.”

Jacqueline was now the happiest witch... or vampire... whatever... in existence. Adjusting to life around people again had been tough. Even with her brief time at Hogwarts in Ravenclaw and her job, she still felt out of place. She wanted desperately to belong with someone or some people. When she had originally met Katalina so long ago, she felt that way. At the time, she didn't care if she ever befriended any other soul. Katalina was enough for her. And now, the two had reunited and seemed to pick up where they had left off.
"It has seemed like an eternity," said Jackie. "You don't know how heartbroken I was when you had to leave." Jackie didn't want to go too far into that long, dark period of her existence, not at such a joyous moment. When Kat offered, she looked around for a place to catch up. "The Hogs Head Inn perhaps? I hear it's not as crowded during the day like the Three Broomsticks is. I wish I could say there was a lot to catch up on regarding myself, but I would love to hear what your life has been like the past few decades."

* KATALINA ( ROSA ) de la VEGA ,
It seemed like her past was just going to keep popping up in her present, despite being sure that it would stay firmly in the past. But she was a vampire. The laws of time were already lost on her because of the fact that she looked the same now as she did a hundred years ago. It seemed like it was only fair that because she wasn't going to age, her past, present, and future would end up merging all into one. And as they say, you can't really ever escape your past. Boy, did she know that. This time though, it was a pleasant surprise. Jackie was one of the many interesting people she met in her life that she didn't mind coming back. Right up there with Jimi Hendrix maybe.
“I'm sorry sweetie, really, but we had to remember. If we had stayed together they'd have caught us.” It was a little difficult to convince a Hunter to stop hunting a pair of vampires, near impossible if that person who was trying to do the convincing was a vampire herself. They were both lucky to have gotten out of Ainwick Castle alive. Kat got out of the country to save the both of them, and she had no idea where Jackie went. Obviously, what they did worked though. They were both there, at the same place and in the same time. Jackie made a suggestion, and while it was a little dingy, she agreed. The Three Broomsticks would be a bit crowded.
A bang sounded when she threw the doors open. No one made an entrance like Katalina. She walked directly to an empty table that would be good enough for the two of them. “You sure you want to hear about my life?” She turned around to face the bar, and ordered a bourbon on the rocks for her, and to get Jackie whatever she wanted. “It's sort of been dramatic to say the least.” That was actually a bit of an understatement.

Jackie remembered that night well. She feared for her existence, but most of all she feared losing her friend to that damned hunter. And in a way the hunter did take Kat away from Jackie. But, thank Merlin now, not permanently. She gave a small smile and nodded to Kat.
"I know, but... well it's been a hard 'little while' without you," she said. "But who cares now, right? Here you are." She embraced Kat again. "And as beautiful as I remember you."
Jackie watched as Kat made one of her legendary entrances. She recalled those well, like the one she made when the two robbed a wealthy Muggle at his fancy manor house outside London. Kat played the wealthy heiress and Jackie her humble servant. Kat got plenty of attention that night, but not when it really counted and the two made off with a tidy bundle. Ah, the good old days.
Jackie sat and ordered a peach brandy. She then chuckled as Kat asked her if she really wanted to hear about her life.
"Kat, in all those months we were together, I went through both Heaven and Hell with you," she said. "I'm sure I can handle hearing what you've been up to. It anything makes what we did pale in comparison, I'll be truly shocked."

* KATALINA ( ROSA ) de la VEGA ,
Oh yes, she definitely missed having someone to talk about all of her lawbreaking with. Sure, she could spend most of her time with Ben, and she didn't really have a problem with it, but Kat was a criminal, and Ben was far from it. It was good for her sanity, at the very least, to have Jackie back around, and she damn sure wasn't about to lose her again any time soon. “Right back atcha.” Katalina winked. Jackie was what you would call a natural beauty, and in any era, she melted in with ease. She was glad to see that that hadn't changed in the years since they had known each other.
The blond burst into a small fit of giggles, her partner's words bringing back fond memories. The cons, the costumes, the back stories, the heists. They were pretty wild. In retrospect, she supposed that that was how the Hunter was finally able to track them down, but it wasn't like they could stop being themselves. She would have despaired if they did. Nowadays, though, she was sure that if that Hunter came back from the dead, he would surely be in for a ride. Kat was not planning on going down any time soon, and if she was it certainly would not be by human hands.
Her bourbon finally got to the table, and you could see that the glass had nasty water spots left on it. She made a face at the sanitary conditions, but took a sip anyway. “Well, let's see. We parted around, what was it? 1912. Well, I was running quite literally. Ran all the way to Southampton. Both luckily and unluckily for me, I managed to smuggle myself passage on an ocean liner headed for America. I mean, what better place to run than across a whole ocean. The unlucky bit, was the fact that it was the Titanic, of all ships. I mean, you'd think that with all of the people dying, it should be easy to grab something to eat, but once they hit the water. That was it. Like the blood actually froze in their veins. But I suppose that it made me look just as haggard as the really fragile ones.” She took another sip.
“Then I got to New York. Spent all of my time there up until the 40s. Some of the best years of my life. The jazz, speakeasies, prohibition, and the Great Depression. I actually got real close to a few muggles there. Faranzano and Masseria. I became a real gangster.” She laughed at the memory. Now they were just things that were written into history books. “Had to high-tail it out of there because the law was coming down. On my way out though, almost got myself whacked by a werewolf outside of Salem. Almost. I used the next twenty years to make my way across the country. You know, keeping my head down, back roads, small towns. The midwest is good for hiding out. Got to California in the 60s. The Beatles were hot. Now don't laugh. I don't know what it was. The music, the groovy colors, lava lamps, or peyote, but I changed. I was a power child. A Hippie! Went to Woodstock. Became friends with Jimi Hendrix.”
“I spent twenty years with the peace and love movement. Then rock and roll took hold of me, and I was back to my usual self. Century turned, and I figured I spent a long enough time away, that I would come back.” She took another sip from the Bourbon and heard the glass clank on the table.

Jackie blushed a bit when Kat said she was beautiful. Jackie hadn't thought that of herself in a long time. She was forever young, yes, but beautiful? Well if Kat told her she was, she wasn't going to argue.
Jackie's eyes widened when Kat spoke of being on the Titantic. Of course she didn't need to ask her friend how she survived.
"Sort of like what the Muggles eat in front of the tele... frozen dinners," she joked. It was good to joke with someone again. Jackie had been rather quiet during her brief time in Ravenclaw and now at the apothecary.
Jackie continued to be fascinated with Kat's life, wondering how life would have been for herself if she hadn't decided to hide away from the world. Hunting for blood in the same area for decades was absolutely dull. She wondered if she could make up for lost time now that she was back with Kat.
"Kat, it sounds like you had a brilliant life!" she said. "I wish I could have been there with you. Really, I only decided to go back out into society a couple of years ago. I pulled off attending Hogwarts for a short time and now have a job at the apothecary in Diagon." Jackie sighed. "But I long to be what I was again. Perhaps... someone I care for could help me?" She smiled at Kat.

* KATALINA ( ROSA ) de la VEGA ,
Katalina had to say, she was amused by the fact that when she talked about the Titanic incident, Jackie didn't flinch once at the tragedy of it, but instead saw the humor in what it was like for a vampire. “Yeah, actually. It was like a frozen dinner.” She managed to get her words out through a few laughs. “Good one.” Jackie said it was a brilliant life, and she had to say that she couldn't totally disagree with that. Well, at least not partially anyway. “Well, I don't know if I totally agree with that, but I can say that it hasn't been boring in the least.” She almost got killed by a werewolf, sunk on a ship, on the run from the law, and lost three days of time in the 60s because of a certain substance. That wasn't exactly brilliant, but, like she said, definitely not boring.
Jackie told her how she had only just gotten back into the swing of society, and she had to admit that it was a little depressing. There was so much, good and bad, that she had missed that Kat wouldn't dream of forgetting. The blond grabbed the other woman's hand, and looked her in the eye. “My dear, trust me when I say this. I am going to pile an entire lifetime of things you have missed into a few months. You will catch up, and soon you will be back to your old self.” She also detected a hint of hesitation in her story that made Kat believe that she wasn't as outgoing as she used to be. That was another tragedy. Kat just wished that Jackie would remember that she was a hot, powerful being, that a lot of people wished they could be, and she should use that.

Jackie laughed too about the frozen dinner thing. It was a bit of a dark joke, but then again... she was Jacqueline Prynce, daughter of a traveling show turned vampire turned thief turned... well forget the current stuff.
"Thanks, I do try with the humor," she chuckled. She then sighed. "And that's what I'm going for now... not boring. Maybe I should have talked the Sorting Hat into putting me in Slytherin. I never did feel completely cozy with the young ones up in Ravenclaw Tower. Too many nights just sitting there and reading books. This apothecary job isn't exactly a runaway buggy ride either."
Jackie smiled when Kat offered to help her enjoy life again. She knew Kat would too, and that she was in for some REAL fun for hopefully some time to come- a few decades, centuries perhaps? Jackie leaned in and embraced Katalina.
"You can't even begin to know how happy I am that we found one another again," she said. "Merlin, I've missed you, my friend." And Jackie was happy, the happiest she had been in a VERY long time.
