you can take my heart very close to your heart you can take my heart forever if you like Ellie Worrall had quickly questioned if giving Peter Jr. space at this Sweetheart's Ball had been her best decision. The hufflepuff was still so unaccustomed to being around someone who actually wanted her company. It was hard for the young girl to not feel a little concern that some how this would end up much like her friendship with Colin - over. Ellie was no quite ready for that though, so she was trying her best to act normal. Still after her time with Owen, she found herself wishing she had spent most of the dance with Peter Jr. instead, it was a little unfair to Owen since she found her thoughts circling around her friend more than Owen. When she finally managed to bid Owen a farewell Ellie made her way to the cookie decorating before searching the ball out for her friend.
It was a bit of a surprise how easy it was to find the boy, her lips parted into a wide toothy grin as her blue eyes fixed on him. With a heavily frosted cookie that was much too big for one person she skipped over to the boy and reached up on tiptoe to tap him on the shoulder before moving in front of him with the slight hope of confusing him for a moment as to who might have tapped him. "Boo!" She said with a hint of a giggle and her smile still in place. She'd hoped that even though they hadn't come to this together Peter Jr. had found some fun at the ball. Not that he needed to come to all these silly dances with her, or that he would even want to, after all they were just friends. Best friends, but just friends.
Holding the cookie in both hands Ellie extended it towards Peter Jr. It was possibly the worst decorated cookie in the history of cookies. The large heart shaped sugar cookie looked as if it might have cracked in two had she put just a little more frosting on it. Its bright pink color and yellow lettering were hardly neat and screamed amateur. The words - if one could even call them that - PJ + Ellie were hardly legible, looking more like messy lines of yellow than beautiful script. "I made you a best friend cookie! And its big enough I thought, maybe, we could share." For such an ugly cookie Ellie looked rather proud. Of course her blue eyes were locked on to Peter Jr. waiting to see if he liked the cookie - or maybe she was just waiting for him to agree to share it with her.

Collecting dust in lines on the pavement In this sweet surrender Running out of time But I don't mind if you don't mind
He had no right to be jealous, it wasn't like him and Eleanor were a couple. Why PJ was currently plottong ways to get right of this Owen kid was a mystery to Nial. Of course the Monkey knew that his companion liked the girl on a less than friendly level but he was still scared of ruining things. If there was ever a time where Nial wanted nothing more to contract rabbies just so he could bit someone, it would be right now and that person would Melissa what's her face. He was sitting at a table using the ugly balloons as cover as he listened to the conversation...Excitment? That boy was cruising for a brusing. He swung back over to Pj to tell him what he heard the reaction was a lot funnier than he would've thought.
Peter J was at a crossroad, on one hand he cared a lot about the odd girl he had met on the astronmy tower, the one who had slipped last his radar as just a housemate. She was different from the girls at school, utterly different he guessed that was do to people treating her like a weirdo. He found nothing wrong with the girl, which was why he told her she didn't have to follow him around. All she had to do was tag along or rather walk beside him, he didn't mind. He could care less about his friends from clubs or quidditch. He was his own person and he choose to spend his time with Ellie. Maybe he should've asked her to the dance....it would've made this easier.
She looked beautiful, and shy and nervous and a bunch of other things that ran through his mind. He stuffed his hands in his pockets as he stood against the wall. Wss he supposed to dress up? He supposed a skeleton tank top and a pair of skinnies wasnt exactly the best thing to wear to a dance but he didn't care. When Nial came back with a report his hands clenched in his pockets. Why did she even sign up for the stupid blind date thing? Part of him realized that maybe she didn't realize it was a blind date but the other part didn't want to share the girl with anybody. He had liked being her only friend because that meant he wouldn't loose her. How could he ruin something, burn bridges if there was no one to point out him being a bad influence or an awful friend....that was why Melissa left. He wasn't what her parent's wanted for her, he was too into rock music and ripped jeans....he was to anti social. Would Ellie realize this too and leave, would he set fire to this friendship...this relationship also?
He smiled when Nial said he saw her walking towards him. Turning around his jealousy was forgotten as she held up an ugly colorful cookie. He didn't care about her lack of artistic talents, it was fun...spray painting with her, her pictures caused him to laugh. "Hey Eleanor...thought you were on that blind date thing..." he inwardly scoleed himself at the slight bitterness in his voice or was it the slight sting of the word best friend? Thats what they were after all best friends and nothing more...right? "Looks delicious, so which half do I get?" He asked with an amused smile on his face. "You look especially besutiful today in case you didn't know" CREDIT TO RACH OF PSYENCE FICTION
