Xirena stood still... serene... calm. She was out of her school robes and in a tank top, jeans, and boots. School was over for the day... now the real lesson began. Xirena paid another student a few galleons to open a cage containing a trio of Cornish Pixies near her. The boy did so, then ran like Taratarus. Xirena closed her eyes, using her advanced hearing and smell. They drew near, seeking to cause mischief and havoc with her. As they neared, she did not make a move, confusing them a bit. Usually people freaked as their approach.
Then... suddenly... she struck.
"Stupefy! Stupefy! Stupefy!" she chanted. In seconds, all three of the little buggers were down. When Xirena looked at them, she no longer saw Cornish Pixies. She saw other werewolves like her... the one who slaughtered her parents. Only in her mind, these monsters weren't stunned. They were dead... and her mother and father avenged.
Xirena sat against a tree and watched the Pixies recover and then fly off in fear. They were nasty little things, but not stupid.

Classes had ended for the day and the young werewolf had found herself wandering the lawns of Hogwarts. Her robes were no longer on as she wasn't particularly fond of them, but like a good student, she kept to the rules and wore them when necessary. Adeline was a sweetheart and the year that was soon coming to a close in a few months had been her first. She had survived and she was fairly surprised by that. She was still no closer to being socially adequate, but she was coming along.
With the fact she had been asked to the Eve of Lights ball and she had made a few friends aside from the boy she met in Hogsmeade, she thought she was doing pretty well considering. But she needed to be better. She needed to find strength and become more than what she was. She was so confused about how to go about certain things and she certainly couldn't hold her own if she was ever attacked. And there was the little detail that she had no clue what to do about Iain. She hadn't really spoken with him since the dance and it worried her that she might have lost him. What did she do wrong?
As she continued along, she looked up in time just to see the pixies flying in her direction. With a small cry, she ran out of the way, only to see them keep flying. Stopping, she found herself staring after them for a moment. She had seen those creatures before, but she was sure she had never seen them so fearful. Taking a deep breath to calm her racing heart, she turned back to her path to see a girl sitting in the distance. She had seen her before in classes and she knew she was a fellow Gryffindor, as well as werewolf, but she had never spoken to her before. Slowly, the brunette approached the girl, stopping a comfortable distance from her. "Were.. um.. were you the one that scared off those pixies?" She asked, her tone soft. "I've never seen Cornish pixies so afraid before."

Xirena didn't look at the girl when Adelina walked up. Her eyes were still focused on the Pixies as they began to vanish from sight.
"Cornish Pixies, like most dark creatures, find their strengths in the fear of others," she said. "Take that away and they are weak, pathetic... easy targets. I threw them off when they saw I wasn't afraid of them... and then I made them fear me." She finally looked at the other girl, but didn't rise to meet her. The look wasn't friendly, but it wasn't cold either. It was simply straight and serious. She then sniffed the girl and raised a single eyebrow at what she just discovered. Another werewolf.
"So... you one too, aren't you?" she said. She hoped she didn't have to specify what she meant there. "You're the first one I've actually spoken to here, though I've sensed a few others here and there."

Adeline found herself taking in every word the girl before her had to say. It was interesting, what she had told her and made her think hard about it. If those Cornish Pixies hadn't have been in fear already, they probably would have come after her, seeing as she obviously was afraid of them. Adeline was afraid of everything, and pretty much everyone. She didn't know how to protect herself due to the sheltered life she lived before Hogwarts. "I... um... I see." She said, tucking some hair behind her ear as she continued to look down at the girl. She sort of admired the girl for her bravery and couldn't help but wish she could be that way.
When the question arose, Ade knew exactly what she was speaking of. "Yes." She answered simply with a nod of her head. "I am, and I knew you were as well. I've seen you around, but never in any classes." She told her, slowly sitting down, but keeping her eyes on the girl who didn't seem so friendly in her opinion. It was hard to tell if she was bothering the girl or not, but she was intrigued and wanted to know more about her. "I haven't met too many outside of my family. Actually, I still haven't met all of my siblings. This was my first year at Hogwarts."

Xirena studied her wand for a moment before placing it back in her belt. She smirked as the girl said she had never seen Xirena in classes.
"I don't think we're in the same year," she said. "Might explain it."
She listened as the girl said she hadn't met many other werewolves at the school, not even some of her own family.
"Interesting," she said. "Hope you find them." Then a hint of sadness appeared in her eyes. "Good to have family."
She then sniffed again and looked over the girl with some curiosity.
"For a werewolf, you certainly are nervous," she said. "However, don't expect me to apologize for unintentionally making you nervous. I don't apologize when I don't feel I'm in the wrong." Xirena then walked past her to grab her jacket, which was hanging from a tree. She turned back to the girl as she placed it on. "You have a name I assume."
