I met this girl late last year @zoe Perhaps it was just him, but Jasper couldn't get the feeling that Helena needed something to cheer her up. As her wonderful older brother, he couldn't think of a better way to cheer her up than by buying her something nice she might like. Or something. Honestly, he wasn't sure what to get her. Even though the two Longbottom siblings had always been close, he had never needed to buy her an outlandish amount of things to cheer her up. He hadn't even gotten to see her in person much since he had graduated. Sure, he had spent some of the breaks with her, but he had a lot of training to do. And, when he wasn't training, he was playing a match or visiting some of his other friends he hadn't gotten to keep in touch with. He could see why some professors had elected to stay at Hogwarts. The place would always feel like home. He hadn't realized that graduating meant that he would miss a lot of his old friends. He hadn't realized that befriending the younger kids would make him feel so old and so...alone, in retrospect. Yeah, it was true that he still hung around James, but the childhood friends weren’t exactly the best of friends while they passed through Hogwarts.
He had so many Hufflepuff friends it wasn’t even funny. A lot of them had already graduated, like him! But, there were also a lot more that were still there. That was why he had spent quite a bit of his free time coming down here. And why, when he passed Gladrag’s Wizardwear, he knew that he had to come in here. He wasn’t sure what type of clothing she would like to wear these days. He kind of wanted to be cheeky and get her something yellow and black. He probably should have asked his mum about that sort of thing. She always knew better, but she had been busy with shifts at work, too. The pub didn’t need much help, but the hospital sure did. And his dad, well, if jasper didn’t know what to get Helena, he doubted that his father would. Or even Molly! He should have kidnapped her and brought her along. Both of them were in Gryffindor, so she would have known what to get her! he’d have to ask her opinion afterwards. Well, he’d get her shoes or something. Most girls liked getting shoes, right? Even the ones that tended to play roughly had to like shoes.
The store wasn’t much. If he were to be honest, anything that he bought here wouldn’t put much of a bent in his wallet, but he was determined to find something - anything - that Helena would like. He had been bent down, looking at some black heels. Jasper, ever the protective older brother, wasn’t sure if he should get them for her. They would encourage her to go out there and party and have fun, and he didn’t think that he’d be comfortable with her doing that. Then again, he knew that she had to go out there and have fun. He might not have gone to every single party at Hogwarts, but he had gone to enough. He would have hoped that she would have enjoyed the same thing. He eyed the pumps again and had just reached for them when something crashed against him. One would think, with his profession, that he would have been able to catch the pumps that smacked against him. “Augh.” He complained, eyes narrowing at the creature that moved forward quickly. He’d grabbed the doxy by the scruff of it’s back before it could get it’s teeth anywhere near him.
He didn’t have any antivenom on him, and he definitely didn’t have the spray to make them go away. He eyed the blackish fairy with a mistrustful look before getting to his feet, making sure to keep his arm elongated and keep the doxy as far away from him as possible. “Don’t think I don’t see you.” He reprimanded the girl slightly. He could only really see her from the corner of his eyes. The boutique wasn’t that big. It didn’t take a lot for him to walk across, open the door, and throw the little menace out. He couldn’t really see a clerk in sight - they were probably in the back somewhere or really trusting - but he’d have to recommend that they get their little problem under control. When he turned back around, his eyes scanned over the store until they settled on the person who brought this problem to his attention to begin with. He was a little surprise at who he saw, but it still brought a smile to his face. “Well, Saviano, I wish that this wouldn’t be the way I saw you again.” Not that they had had a lot of interaction before. His last year was spent, mostly, with the Quidditch team and Molly; occasionally, there were other young students that he had looked out for. But, he had definitely remembered seeing her around.
