Aubrey had no issue approaching Boldfeather and did as he approached her, gently and slowly she raised a hand to pet him. When he let her she caressed the soft feathers of his neck and made soothing noises to him. "Aren't you handsome?" She was good with most animals but had no abilities with them past being able to take the form of the silver fox. Her grin was tender as she crooned to the male Hippogriff and when Hagrid suggested a ride she looked to Boldfeather, almost asking permission without words.
"I would love to volunteer if he'd allow me?" The question was posed to the animal himself, knowing he was smart as his eyes conveyed that for her. She had never ridden a Hippogriff before, a horse, yes, but nothing with wings. Truthfully she wanted to ride a Pegasus, but she knew better than to try unless she had raised the beastie herself. Once she was allowed she would gladly take flight with the handsome creature before her. "He's so handsome, Hagrid. I bet the rest of his flock is just as beautiful." Aubrey stepped back slowly, allowing the Hippogriff the room to make his choice of whether or not to accept her as a rider for the moment.

Hagrid nodded about Boldfeather being handsome. "That he is, Ms. Aubrey," said Hagrid, more solemnly. "That he is."The half giant smiled when Aubrey volunteered to ride the creature. He knew she would of course. He felt Aubrey didn't need any special ability to befriend animals. She just knew how to behave around them. It was clear Boldfeather liked her. Again, Hagrid was more proper about going about getting Aubrey on Boldfeather's back, playing the role of the old, rugged gentleman. "Just to warn ya, once Boldfeather gets to flyin', Merlin knows where he'll take ya," he said. "Oh, and hold on tight."Truthfully, Hagrid knew both of them would be fine. Boldfeather had passengers before and knew how to handle them. And he knew Aubrey a bright girl as well. So, without another word, he stood back and allowed the flight to begin. Every time he was here for one of these, it reminded him of that day with Harry, minus the negative incident with Draco of course. AUBREY RENEE WELLES

When she was set atop Boldfeather's back she gently held onto his feathers and then they were off. She was used to fast take offs and this was not much different from riding her broom. She held on with her legs and leaned into his neck like a pro. She gripped onto Boldfeather and once they were fully up she whooped and unknowing did what Harry had done over the lake, arms outstretched and only holding on with her legs. After a moment she leaned back into Boldfeather and bit and crooned in his ear. He was such a good Hippogriff, strong and handsome. This was exhilarating. Riding her broom was one thing, this was a whole other experience. The feeling of his wings beating on either side of her head was nothing short of amazing and the wind whipped at her long, dark hair. The ride was over much too soon though as the beast banked back toward the Castle and Hagrid. Once he had landed she gently slid off his back, hugged his neck and then backed away and bowed in thanks. It had been one hell of a ride and she had really enjoyed it. "I'll come visit you again, if you'd like, Boldfeather." She really hoped the Hippogriff would give her the okay in some fashion as she would love to see him again, well, him and any of his flock. Aubrey walked back to Hagrid and beamed at him. "That was an insane amount of fun!" She bounced on the spot and then turned to look back to the forest, grinning. She wanted to do it again another time and she was sure she would get the shot. "Thank for letting me come with you, Hagrid. It's always a good time." She meant it and the affection in her eyes for the half giant was plain as day. Words: 313 Tagged: RUBEUS HAGGER HAGRID

When the flight was over and Aubrey asked if she could come visit Boldfeather, he gave her a small nuzzle, indicating "yes". He had well considered her a trusted friend by now. Hagrid smiled at the scene before Aubrey walked over. "You're quite welcome, Ms. Aubrey," he said. "Thank you for takin' the walk with me."Again, it meant a lot to Hagrid to have the students want to be around him and see the world as he often saw it. "Best be gettin' back now I suppose," he said. He then took a couple of the dead ferrets he has brought with him and tossed them to Boldfeather, who happily accepted it. "Until next time, young Boldfeather. Be good for yer family now."And with that, he began to head back. (Done for Hagrid) AUBREY RENEE WELLES

Aubrey took the yes from Boldfeather with a bright smile on her face and nodded to Hagrid. "Yes, same for me. I have to go study." She ran up and gave Hagrid a hug before turning back up the path for the castle. She would be back to visit Boldfeather when she could stand the studying no more and felt like her brain was leaking out of her ears. Her smile was bright as she walked and slight bounce in her step. She would most definitely need to do this again.
