Lydia clarencieux sixteen pureblood sixth year ravenclaw 10 1/2, unicorn hair, rosewood BIRTHDAY: Sixteen - May 24 PATRONUS: Velveteen Lop Rabbit ABILITIES: Animal Communication - Rabbits, Nonverbal Quiet. Mouth not moving. Words not escaping. Speech was not something you cared for much in your life. After all, your opinions and statements were not paid attention to, nor were they wanted. It took you a few years to realize this, but once you noticed, it settled within your brain making it so you only spoke when spoken to or when you felt it necessary. This was not very often, as you were the youngest child out of four; the other three being triplets. You were quickly lost in the crowd and forgotten, even by your own parents. You didn't mind though, seeing as you often zoned off to elsewhere when you were around them; sitting and staring into oblivion as if their words were pointless and unimportant to you. A prestigious French family was what you were born into. One full of dark magic and much power as well as money. Your sisters showed interest in such things, while you sat in the background and pretended to listen and understand what was told to you. Something in your mind couldn't connect with what was being taught. Either that, or you really just didn't care. It was all so odd to you; the belief that other witches and wizards were beneath you because of blood or what side they were on. You couldn't bring yourself to value such a notion, so you ignored it. This of course only made you a victim to your siblings, as they thought you were worthless and stupid. How could you, a Clarencieux, not believe in purebloods being elite to others? Well, you didn't and you probably never would. Same with not being interested in magic that could potentially harm people. It wasn't you. You never understood why you were different from those in your family, but it was something you couldn't help. It was who you were and in consequence it made your life that much harder, but you couldn't change or make yourself believe what they did. You were your own best friend until the age of eight when a girl your age was introduced to you and your sisters. Her name was Saeren Selwyn and she was your cousin. The girl quickly fell victim to your sisters just like you had, making her like you in more ways than one. You attached to her and found in her a friend you thought you might never have. While your sisters hated, you grew closer and closer. She was the only one you actually spoke to and actually seemed to take interest in what you had to say when you did, indeed speak. Another revelation came in the years you were able to connect with your cousin. A secret surfaced; something you were not supposed to know. Your usually zoned out mind was in the present and fully aware, finally observant when you heard arguing beyond the door to your father's study. It was him and your grandmother speaking of a girl name Honorine. But that was Saeren's governess. Why were they arguing about her was what you wondered. It wasn't until you heard the secret that you understood the arguing. Honorine was your half-sister. Shutting down, you allowed yourself to escape back into the world that kept you safe and oblivious to the harshness that surrounded you day by day. Your feet carried you aimlessly to your room, where you sat on your bed for hours, staring at the wall. By the time you were pulled out of it, it had slipped your mind why you had even gotten upset in the first place. Saeren had come in to talk and your mind automatically switched to her and what was taking place that moment. No more did you think of the information you had taken in only hours before. You were used to Sae travelling a lot, but you were never ready for when she moved; leaving France for good. It crushed you, seeing as you would no longer be able to expect your best friend to come around often or to have someone to talk to. You would be wordless once more. At least, verbally. You wrote your cousin letters to tell her of the dreadful things your sisters did as well as the fact your sister could communicate with spiders. It freaked you out slightly and obviously more than the fact that you learned you could speak with the rabbits. But what frightened you most was her control of the crawlers; knowing that she would use that to some sort of advantage. And doing so, she did. At age eleven you began attending Beaubaxtons with your sisters. It didn't take you long to catch on to the fact that someone was terrorizing students and blackmailing with spiders. Immediately you knew just who it was. But did you speak up? Of course not. You couldn't speak against your sister, for that would only put you in a worse position than you already carried. Your best defense was to lay low and forget everything you heard about it. Let them partake in whatever they cared to, as long as it didn't come back to you, you were fine. Still, you felt guilty for allowing such horrible actions to take place. You always had a hope you could do something, but you had no courage to stand up to the sisters that endlessly tormented you. It was at the age of fourteen that your family relocated to England, transferring you to Hogwarts in the process. Unbeknownst why you were, Ravenclaw was the house you were sorted into. Maybe underneath the somewhat mute and oblivious persona you held dear, you were actually a very smart young girl. Maybe you weren't as oblivious as you believed, seeing as you held secrets and knowledge most didn't. High marks were not hard to achieve either, which meant you took in something the professors taught. You were there, just not all at once, all the time. You were happy about your house though, despite the self-doubt and the fact you sister was placed there. Why? Because your cousin and best friend was in the same house. You were able to reattach yourself to her and keep the bond you had as children. She stayed your only friend for quite some time, as you didn't let others in easily. But a few people gained your interest, especially those of Sae's liking. She introduced you to a couple people, which was nice and then of course, you learned to make a couple friends on your own. But again, it didn't come naturally. You are now in your sixth year and still staying out of whatever havoc your sisters create. You are happy in your world away from them and with your new friends. With them, you will stay and hopefully for good. hey guys, my name is KAIT! and I am rocking it at TWENTY-ONE years old, role-playing for roughly A LOT OF years - so i'm pretty chill with anything. i'm in the EASTERN time zone, and hail from AMERICA so how about that! currently my character looks just like ALISA STERLIKOVA or so i am told!
