Charlie had never been a bitter person, but things definitely changed after Drew had forced Xochilt to kill Charlie. Brought to the cliff that stood between life and death, that moment had changed all of their lives forever. Charlie had known exactly who was behind Xochilt hurting him. He knew that Xochilt was never at fault, the moment he woke up, he also never spoke a word of Drew being behind it all except to one person, and that one person had been his brother, well Icarus, the boy was practically his brother, just not by blood.
Charlie wasn't sure if he could forgive Drew for such a thing. The two had never been friends and he was sure everything that Drew had done was because of Aisling, that was when her and his relationship had pretty much become non-existent, that was before they'd broken up, but since then it had happened and he spent most of his days minding his own business and trying to cope with the big change in his life.
The big thing for Charlie though was to finish his studies for the N.E.W.T.s here soon. Charlie was ready to make things of his life. He was ready to move on in the world and out of this school that now had not so great memories for him. Still this was the place where he'd begun his life in the wizarding world. He found himself plopped down in the Entrance Hall. Why did he always find the hallways best to study, he would never know. But the library was always way to quiet for him. Now that his hearing had gotten even better, the sounds were most welcome. A book fell open on his lap as he stretched his legs out and leaned against the stone wall. The chill of which never really bothered him now.
So many things changed, but one thing that didn't was that Charlie still had his friends, and he loved to study where he could hear the noises of the students. Something sucked him into it, it was easier to focus on studying. Potions were what lay in front of him, he'd been decent at potions but he didn't want to do anything with Potions in his life. No, he wanted to now focus upon what was current in his life. Working for the ministry now was just about the only option he had. While not completely true, it was the best option.
