Welcome to Order & Anarchy !
There are two sides to every coin. A century ago, those two sides represented darkness and hope. Day and night. Today is no different. Where there is kindness and prosperity in this world, there cannot be an escape from pain and terror. The horrors caused by a score of witches and wizards known as Anarchy have turned the magical world upside down. Whilst the vast majority of Anarchy's leaders have been caught and incarcerated in Nurmengard, an underground network of thieves and murderers plot their escape and return to power. The magical world is still a closely guarded secret, loosely regulated by the Ministry of Magic. Following a series of explosions and serial killings, the population quickly lost faith in their jurisdiction. A self appointed band of vigilante witches and wizards have taken to the streets to fight the evil and round up Anarchy. They call themselves The Order; harking back to the days when evil last bore its' gnarled face. The founder of this new Order was a powerful witch who used the alias Phoenix; she had quite the following until it happened. Anarchy uncovered her true identity and murdered her husband and children in cold blood, pushing her right up to the edge of the knife. She retaliated in kind, brutally executing anybody who sought to cause pain. Phoenix was so blinded by revenge, that she ceased to care who she hurt so long as Anarchy blood was spilled. When the leaders of Anarchy wound up in the retasked Nurmengard, Phoenix was locked away with them for her crimes against liberty.
Nurmengard prison was created by evil. A dark wizard by the name of Gellert Grindelwald built the prison at the height of his power to house his fiercest opponents. In 1945 he himself was incarcerated within the magical walls for the terrors he imposed on the wizarding world. It has been seldom used since in favour of Azkaban. Until now. A law was passed by the Ministry of Magic and other worldwide governments that lead to the reintroduction of Nurmengard as a maximum security fortress for murderers and terrorists. Lesser crimes will see you guarded in Azkaban, having hope drained from you by the shadowy Dementors. Kill somebody, or commit another serious crime, and you'll be bound to Nurmengard for life. The guards here aren't Dementors; they're the most ardent, tough and ruthless witches and wizards available to the Ministry of Magic's corrections department supervised by The Warden. Not much is known about who he is, or what he does other than walk the cold corridors and halls of Nurmengard, sadistically inflicting small morsels of revenge on the inmates. He is a man who should not be crossed.
