Do you wannah dance, my Barefoot Cinderella? Any knew that her natural born animal skills were probably seen as an unfair advantage in Care of Magical Creatures class, however, she thought of it differently. She didn’t think natural fliers were cheating in flying lessons by having a talent for the trade. Or she didn’t think young potion masters were cheating by having skill at Potions. It was just part of who she was, it was her talent. She didn’t really try to hide it; she’d tell people if they asked, but it wasn’t a big deal to her, it was just part of her life, it was who she was. It always had been. She knew some people thought she was weird, and this definitely contributed to the Hufflepuffs’ shy factor.
Anya had been thinking for days about a name for her little animal. She had tried to call it a few different names to see which one stuck. However, the little squirrel would come to her voice no matter what name she had called him. It had been a little frustrating. This was one of the times Anya wished she could actually speak to the animals, sometimes she swore she could. Or at least, they could understand each other. “Hmm, I wonder why.” Anya giggled a little, her face still completely red from having left her hand on his chest. Even for just the short amount of time that she did. She couldn’t tell what exactly Joey was feeling about that, but due to his stutter, he was feeling something. “I’ll try Hank next time I see him.” Anya nodded and cleared her throat, trying to get rid of the embarrassment around them at what had happened. “Really?” She watched the boy with drum sticks walk across the dance floor. “I didn’t know they had a band.” She admitted, there was a lot Anya didn’t know.

You would not believe your eyesif ten million fireflies lit upthe world as I fell asleep Joey didn't really mind that Anya had natural ability over him with animals. He only thought it was pretty chill. He never really understood people who hated other people out of envy and jealousy. He figured that, no matter what, someone was going to be better then you at something. It just happened. He wasn't the best in Transfiguraion, but he'd never hated the students who were better then him. He just learned from, and if they weren't arrogant, admired then a little bit. He knew of some students who hated those who were better then. In fact, he'd even been angrily cornered in the common room after making the team (which had lead to a broken friendship that Joey, to say the least, sorely missed). He really couldn't understand those emotions, at all.
Okay, so maybe Joey did have a clue as to why they wouldn't let the dog 'Cat', but he thought it'd be a funny name. Honestly, it's not like the dog knew he was a dog and not a cat, nor was it going to be upset with him for having a little fun. And, considering his mum had named him 'Chauncey' instead, he was pretty sure the dog might've actually been thankful for his naming instead. He tried to collect himself, and, almost wishing he was wearing a mask that covered more of his face (despite the fact they usually looked quite silly. Who had decided that the masks with the weird long noses looked god?) , struggled to make a non-embarrassed face. Merlin, Anya probably thought he was the biggest loser. He tried to channel his inner Jasper and keep calm.
"Yeah, I wouldn't expect anything like that out of Scorpius or the likes, either," he said. Both being seventh years, they shared some classes with each other. Joey didn't dislike him, but he wasn't fond of his arrogant attiitude, either. And everything about that 'Pureblood Society', or whatever the hell they called it, rubbed him the wrong way. Still, he gave credit where credit was due - Scorpius was easy to tolerate when he wasn't talking, and he did play some pretty decent music. Joey didn't know if he could dance to it or not, but it sounded alright. "Would you like to get a drink before they start playing?" he asked. Personally, he wouldn't mind it if they stayed at the refreshments table while they played, but who knew? Maybe they were going to play something slower that was dance-to-able? Who knew?

Do you wannah dance, my Barefoot Cinderella? Any knew very few people in all honesty. She knew more faces than she knew names. And knew even more Animals than she knew people. She was friendly, of course and would be nice to anyone no matter if she knew them or not. She also didn’t possess the hatred for rival houses that some other people had either from their own personal experience, or from anger they were handed down from their parents, siblings or other family members. Anya wasn’t a hateful person. She didn’t understand the point of hating another human being. Everyone had problems to deal with, why would she try to make them any worse by acting food or foolish? She knew people had their reasons and she shouldn’t judge, she didn’t. She just always tried to see the good side of every person.
“I didn’t know there were bands at Hogwarts… besides the choir I mean.” Anya admitted. She supposed that she shouldn’t have been so surprised. There were quite a few clubs at Hogwarts, she herself was captain of the Care Of Magical Creatures club and head of the class, not that it was surprising either… she supposed it could have been seen as an unfair advantage that she was taking a class that she had a natural talent for. But she saw it as fun. She loved it, it was her Lifestyle. “A drink would be nice.” She hadn’t realized how long they had been twirling, a few songs had passed. “We could sit down for a little while.” She added, she had never been so glad that she thought heeled shoes were pointless and uncomfortable.

You would not believe your eyesif ten million fireflies lit upthe world as I fell asleep Most teenagers liked music. Joey was no exception. Only problem was, what muggle music he listened to wasn't all that popular outside of the West Country or big farming areas. Surprising as it was to him, it seemed that not everyone liked the Wurzels (with songs like 'Combine Harvester', he didn't quite see how that was possible) and the Yetties. His muggle friends were generally more into that stuff with the heavy bass and the lyrics about partying or love (or love while partying). He wouldn't lie, he could really get down to some Rihanna every now and then, but for the most part, that music wasn't his cup of tea. When ir came to the Wizarding world, he was all for Wrock, both oldies like The Weird Sisters and newer bands like the Screaming Ghouls, which was something that he could connect with others much easier. Only problem was, with parents who'd never really introduced him to much wizarding music, he only knew the bands that Jasper, Jason, or his other room mates introduced him too. Which could leave him feeling quite stupid at times.
"I didn't either until I overheard Malfoy talking about it. Apparently he's having trouble distancing himself from the Weasley he went with," he said with a laugh. He didn't know much about the Potter-Weasley clan, other then what he'd learnt from persona experience and Jasper, but he did know one thing for sure: they gave any lad who attempted to date their sisters or cousins hell. He almost felt bad for Scorpius, who was not only subject to that, but subject to a lot more then the usual (if that were possible) due to his father and all that. Joey began making his way towards the refreshment table after Anya said 'Drinks would be nice'. He was looking forward to some Party Punch, knowing that they weren't likely to have anything stronger then Butterbeer as far as alcoholic drinks went.
"Sitting down would be nice. I feel bad for the girls with high heels on. Yikes," he said, with humor in his voice as he made his way to the table. Upon seeing the refreshment table, he was pretty impressed. There were quite a few different types of delicious drinks, many scrumptious-looking foods, and plates and napkins that even looked quite nice. "Wow. The House Elves have really out-done themselves," he said, impressed. He'd always had a respect for the little creatures, even if it wasn't a popular view.

Do you wannah dance, my Barefoot Cinderella? Anya had nothing against music, it was nice when it was the right situation for it, but she didn’t spend very much time listening to it. She spent too much time with the animals around her to spend any time wondering who sings the latest of latest popular songs on the radio. Sure, she was in love with Christmas music like the rest of the world. Her mother had always made Christmas a big deal in their house. It was her mother’s favorite holiday. The house was always decorated and smelled constantly of cookies and cakes and other really good foods that Anya never ate on a daily bases because she wasn’t a huge fan of sugar. Or meat, Anya didn’t eat meat. That was definitely because of her Animal Affinity. Animals were friends, not food. But at the same time, she knew that others ate animals and it didn’t mean that they hated animals. It was definitely a personal choice.
“I know right? I’m so glad I decided not to wear heels.” Anya smiled and followed Joey to the table. “I’m not nearly coordinated enough to wear them all night while dancing and walking and even just standing.” She blushed. Anya and gravity didn’t always agree on whether or not she should stay standing when she wanted too. She had broken her ankles a few times while simply walking to class and though out the castle. She was just glad that the nurses knew how to mend her right away. “It does look rather lovely.” Anya smiled at the nice spread that had been set out. Naturally, due to loving Animals, Anya loved all creatures, House-Elves included.

You would not believe your eyesif ten million fireflies lit upthe world as I fell asleep Joey couldn't imagine a life without a lot of meat. He was a full-blown deluxe meat-eating machine. The farm he lived on did not, for the most part, have mutton sheep of beef cows, but both those meats were a steady part of the Brewer Boys' diet anyways growing up. In fact, before the big family breakage between with David going off to Hogwarts, the family had taken a trip to Cornwall to get some of those legendary meat pasties Cornwall was famous for. He'd noticed that Anya didn't eat a lot, if any, meat, which he found to be a thing he'd never be able to do. Not that he was against that, or that he had any problems with that, just that he knew that he probably couldn't keep an herbivore diet himself. Joey knew some blokes who'd take bacon-wrapped hamburgers and eat them in front of vegatarians. He never really saw the point in that, and thought it was the pinnacle of arrogance and douchebaggery.
Joey laughed. "Right? When I was younger, me and my brothers had a contest to see who could walk the longest in my mum's shoes. I walked all of a single meter before falling," he said, in his usual jolly way. He couldn't imagine why anyone would want to wear them to a dance (or wear them at all for that matter). He looked at the refreshment table for a bit , then smiled. "Party Punch! I love this stuff," he said, taking a goblet and filling it up with some of the purple-ish liquid. He took a sip, then looked over to Anya. "So, any friends of yours going to be here tonight?" he asked. He knew she was good friends with Kodiac and a few others, but he didn't know much beyond that.

Do you wannah dance, my Barefoot Cinderella? Though Anya didn’t eat meat, she didn’t mind people who did. She’d never ask another person to stop doing it if they were against it, and she wouldn’t be offended if they ate it in front of her. It was just something that she had always done for herself. Since she was a baby Anya refused to eat one of her friends. All animals were her friends. Every last one… However, she wasn’t a big fan of bugs… she didn’t consider those animals though. Those were just bugs; even the butterflies, Anya wasn’t a fan of any sort of bug whether he be crawling or flying. That was one good thing, Anya thought, about having a brother like Justin. In order to alert the world to his manliness, Justin never turned down the opportunity to kill a bug for his sister, or an animal if he and their father went hunting. She never understood that. Anya saw manliness more as the courage to stand up for what you believe in and protect the people who are important to you rather than the physical ability to kill.
The girl laughed at his story. It was rather amusing. For a moment, she attempted to picture Joseph wearing high heeled shoes. It was an impossible, and less than pretty picture, though she didn’t know what he had looked like as a child so it was even harder to imagine. “My mother always had me wear them at work parties and such she and my dad hosted, but I always ended up kicking them off and hiding them under the sofa.” She admitted. Going barefoot was so much more natural. She didn’t mind getting dirt and water and mud on her feet, she felt that it connected her to the earth more than anything. “Oh, uh… Kodi’s here somewhere with Cole Nott.” Anya nodded and scanned the crowd a little. She didn’t have many friends, but that wasn’t something she was ashamed of. She only had as many friends as people she could trust. “What about you? See Jasper anywhere?” She asked.
