Ollie made an overly-exaggerated sigh of relief. "Phew, I was worried," he joked. "Still, an interview is a little intimidating. How do you think I'll go if I get interviewed?" he asked her teasingly. He had no idea what kind of things they might ask him if they did do that - it was still the first time he and Laila had hung out, after all. It didn't mean anything was going to come of it - but Ollie sure hoped that something would.

dancing through the fire Laila wondered if Ollie was getting a bit nervous about a possible interview with her brothers. She hoped he wasn't - it really wasn't something to worry about. "You know the usual - what do you like and dislike, are you a secret death eater, that kind of thing," she joked. Maybe it was something to joke about, though. She highly doubted Ollie was secretly involved with the dark things going on in the world, but who would know? The thought of something like that actually happened frightened her. Maybe she and Ollie weren't the closest people as of yet, but the thought of losing him to something so dark and evil made her want to cry. She couldn't lose more people she cared about. She didn't know if she'd be able to take it.

Ollie burst into laughter at that. "Oh no, they might find out my secret," he laughed, before kind of realising that he shouldn't joke about that. Some people really seriously were involved in that kind of stuff, so it wasn't a laughing matter. But still, the thought that he could... yeah, that definitely wasn't happening. "So you brought other food as well, right? We should probably actually have a normal lunch rather than just munching on fudge the entire time," he suggested, laughing.

dancing through the fire Laila laughed with him, knowing full well that Ollie could never be involved in stuff like that. "Oh yea - I did bring other stuff, didn't I?" she chuckled. She shifted herself to the end of the couch and opened up the picnic basket, pulling out the tea, crackers, and other such foods that she had tucked away in her clever basket. "Have whatever you'd like!" she said as she poured tea for both of them and then grabbed a couple crackers for herself.

Ollie laughed and nodded. It was easy to forget about things when he was around her, it was just so easy to talk to her that it felt like other things didn't matter. He helped her get some of the stuff out of the basket, and started cutting up some cheese and putting it on the crackers. Cheese was great, he was a big fan of it. But not so much of tea, actually - which was something she would be able to learn about him now, randomly. "Oh, I actually don't drink tea. Sorry. I'm not a fan of hot drinks in general," he commented as he saw her pouring it. He hoped she wouldn't be offended or something - he didn't like saying no to things that people offered him.

dancing through the fire "Oh..." Laila answered, slightly surprised. "Well that's okay. I think there's a bottle or two of water in there, if you want to grab that," she said with a nod. "It's okay though really - I love tea. I'd drink the whole kettle by myself....well maybe not the whole kettle, but I can drink two cups easily," Laila smiled. She didn't want him to think she would be offended - he just didn't like it. It wasn't like she was going to force him to drink it! Laila wondered if girls would actually force guys to do things like that...it was silly to her.

Ollie looked into the basket and found a bottle of water. "Yep, found one," he replied as he pulled it out and opened it. "Thanks. It's cool that you love it so much, but yeah drinking the whole kettle might not be wise. Or easy. It's kind of hard to drink metal," he joked, knowing it was lame but unable to resist making it. He was glad that she didn't seem bothered by him not wanting the tea she had poured. At least now it was something else that she knew about him.

dancing through the fire Ellen stuck her tongue out at him. "Ha ha very funny," she said and then chuckled. She picked up a cracker with cheese that he assembled and smiled."Aren't you the little chef?" she teased before eating it. It was actually pretty good considering she'd just been eating fudge. "So what else don't I know about you? Any other foods you don't like?" she asked. It'd be good to know for future reference.

Laughing, Ollie shook his head. "It really wasn't funny at all," he said with a grin. "It was pretty terrible actually. I just shouldn't ever make jokes, they're appalling." He always tended to come up with the lamest ones. "Hmm, I don't think there's anything that I won't eat. I'm not very fussy generally," he replied thoughtfully. "I love chocolate, obviously... and I love eating fruit, too. What about you? Any foods you really don't like?"

dancing through the fire Laila laughed alongside him. Maybe it wasn't the best joke, but it seemed that way when he said it. She wouldn't stroke his ego, though; she'd let him go thinking his jokes were mediocre when, in fact, Laila thought they were pretty funny. And they were especially cute when he said them. "Well, I don't really like sour candy," she said with a nod. She couldn't stand the tang of a sour piece of candy...it just didn't do anything for her. She also didn't really like alcohol - but, then again, she may have attributed that more to the fact that a bottle of Firewhiskey was found by her mum's body instead of disliking the taste itself. But she didn't feel it necessary to mention that tidbit.

Ollie looked at her curiously. "Sour candy? So you don't like it when your face scrunches up like this?" he said, making a face like the one he got when he ate sour candy, before laughing again. It was fair enough, that taste wasn't for everyone, just like a lot of people didn't like spicy food. It was a similar kind of thing - an acquired taste. "What's your favourite food, then?" he asked.

dancing through the fire Laila laughed hard at the face he made. Settling down, she shook her head and replied with, "No I don't - but I quite like it when yours does!" She grinned and then her face immediately fell as she started to think of her favourite food. "That'll be...chicken alfredo. For sure," she answered with a definite nod. There was nothing like a good plate of chicken alfredo and warm breadsticks...mmm. @ollie

Ollie stuck his tongue out at her briefly when she made fun of the face he made. He felt very natural doing silly things like that around her, which was a sign of how comfortable he was with her. "Oh, chicken alfredo, hey? Interesting! A very delicious choice. Ooh, another question. Do you cook very much?" he asked her curiously. He didn't much at all. At home his mother did most of the cooking, and at Hogwarts he never needed to because of the house-elves being so awesome.

dancing through the fire Laila nodded and was pleased that Ollie liked chicken alfredo, too. It meant both of them liked italian food, which could be a possible restaurant choice for a later dinner of sorts? Hm. It was food for thought - heh. "Occasionally, yea. Dad can cook but if he works a lot then I'll whip something up real quick. I think the easiest real meal to make is spaghetti - just throw the noodles into boiling water and let the sauce simmer a bit to get all the flavors out of whatever ingredients you decide to use. I'm horrid with meats though - I constantly have to slice open chicken and steak to figure out if they're done or not," she laughed. It was rather silly, she supposed, but she would be horrified if she accidentally served uncooked meat. It'd probably force her to never cook again.

Ollie smiled as he listened to Laila talk about cooking. It seemed that she had a lot more experience in that area than he did. Which was good - but he would have to learn at some stage. "That does sound pretty easy," he agreed. "I'd probably still find a way to stuff it up, though, I've had so little cooking experience," he said, laughing at himself. It would probably be pretty terrible if he tried something like that on his own. But he was keen to learn if someone would be willing to teach him. "It sounds like you know what you're doing a lot better than I would."
