Because she was in training, Cavalyn couldn't roam about Knockturn at night alone. For a rookie, it was a sure fire way of getting Avada Kedavra-ed out of one's shoes. However, when accompanied by an Auror, especially one with Allen Clarke's experience, the story was different. Cav would feel braver and more confident with him there, and she also knew to be more careful. Even if a mistake didn't get her cursed or killed, she knew she would hear it from him. And lectures from full Aurors were not all that fun. So far, Cav had done well though and didn't need one all that often. The mission tonight was to track down an identical pair of Dark Wizards named Raymond and Egon Scalarry... aka The Scalarry Twins. There were many who referred to the duo as the world of dark magic's answer to Fred and George Weasley. They were mischievous like Fred and George, but unlike George and his late brother, the Scalarrys had truly evil hearts behind said mischief. Cav was now in her mongoose form and sitting on Allen's shoulder. There was a method to this as in this form, she could not only sniff about for trouble, but also scurry along a roof top and catch a dark wizard from behind. Cav loved that Allen let her do this. She loved Allen in general. He was tough, but she saw a kind old man underneath that toughness. ALLEN PETER CLARKE

Allen wasn't usually the type for grumbling. As a matter of fact, he usually scolded others who complained about the jobs that they received, especially the younger aurors and those who were still going through the training. Aurors were some of the keenest magical minds in the world, they had to be. Thus, Allen Clarke always found an auror who was prone to complaints about what the office assigned them to be rather unbecoming. Some had a distaste for paperwork, while others found that they didn't care for the "boring" jobs of handling the "easy" jobs. But when someone became of an advanced age, they'd earned their right to grumble, especially on such a stride-heavy beat as this one. Knockturn Alley hardly bothered him, it was simply all of the damned walking that became tiresome.
Meanwhile Cavalyn never seemed to complain for what she did. And that was probably the favorite among a host of traits that the auror-in-training had. Not only was she witty and quick, but there was potential in the girl that Clarke hadn't seen since a young Harry Potter. Unlike the comparatively introverted Harry, though, this girl was very easy going and friendly, something that had actually allowed her to break through the stern wall that Allen usually slammed in the faces of the other rookies and found the personality he showed to his grandchildren typically.
So as Clarke walked through the streets, the proud man grumbled in a low voice about his leg, the very one which had been injured at the beginning of June and was not healed, if a bit sore. Wand in sleeve, Allen kept a keen eye out for the faces of one of the twins they had been searching for.
A few of the patrons to Diagon recognized Allen, someone was bound to, so occasionally muttering could be heard. Ultimately, it didn't prove to be an issue as Allen didn't spend much time in any single part of the small place. Eventually, Clarke saw the visage of a Scalarry and grunted towards the Mongoose, which was perched on his shoulder. This sound indicated to initiate the plan for her to take high-ground and keep watch while the elderly auror attempted to arrest the first dark wizard.
Moving at a quickened pace, Allen moved surprisingly fast as he closed the distance on the other man, wand sliding into his palm with his wrinkled fingers wrapping firmly around the magical stick of wood.

Cavalyn was indeed far from upset to be there with Allen. She was excited, as she was with everything she did in her training. Cav could even make mindless paperwork look fun. And she was really excited tonight because she knew she and her mentor would see some action. There always seemed to be that in Knockturn. With the grunt, Cav hopped off Allen's shoulder, the ran over, climbed up a wooden pillar, and scurried across the roof. When Clarke got the Scalarrys' attentions, Cav would change back and do her part in the surprise attack. They had played out this plan several times in training. Egon Scalarry turned to see the old Auror and had his wand ready as well. "Well if it ain't da old relic tryin' to relive his prime," said Egon. "You're bloody stupid to confront me, old fella, 'specially with muh brutha abouts. Hmmm... where could he be?" Egon thought he was smart by speaking of the mysterious location of his brother Raymond, thinking he would get Allen to look about for him out of reaction. But he of course didn't realize that a little mongoose was now looking and sniffing about for the other brother. ALLEN PETER CLARKE

Blowing a bit of stray moustache which had managed to straggle into his mouth, Allen glared at Scalarry and clearly had little patience for the man's tough talk. "Really, you'd think that I would simply charge in and NOT have a plan to defeat you, and your brother?" Tossing his wand in the air, as he was holding it by the tip, letting it spin a few times, then landing with the handle safely in his waiting palm.
Without saying another word, Clarke pointed his wand at Egon, and an arch of electricity flew out of the tip. Immediately, he followed up with a small wave of his wand to put up a shield charm against any attack that Scalarry may have attempted to mount in response.
Allen took his typical dueling stance. One hand held further away from his body, in order to capitalize on the use of his wandless magic abilities. Moving in to follow up his initial assault, Allen fired a jinx at his foe, and pressed the assault, sure that the younger wizard was not so unskilled as to allow either a bit of energy or a couple of spells thrown his way to put him away.
Clarke inwardly hoped that Cav was being diligent in her search, because this duel would become considerably more difficult if another wizard approached from behind. While Allen could easily take on two foes at once, he wouldn't if the wizards were to flank him, dueling skill could only go so far for the old man.

"A plan, eh?" sneered Egon. "Well that's have it then? What's been cooked up in that senile mind of yours?" His answer for the moment was Allen blasting him down. With a scream, he hit the ground. He attempted a counter-attack, but it had no affect on the shielded Clarke. Meanwhile, Raymond tried to make his move. Coming out of the shadows, he aimed his wand for Allen's back with a grin. Suddenly, the mongoose leaped down quietly behind him and transformed into Cavalyn. She took her wand and pointed it at his head. Cav's usually sweet, adorable, and friendly nature was not present. She was in "Auror Mode". "You make one move on my mentor and you want make it to Azkaban, Hushpuppy, at least not in one piece," she said with a voice that inspired fear in dark hearts. "Now drop the wand, put your hands up and walk on out because I'm looking for every reason possible to make your night a living Tartarus!" Raymond gulped and dropped the wand before marching him out to Allen. When he turned to the old man, her usual nature returned. "Hiya Allen!" she said with a wave. "Look, I caught him! He was gonna do something bad but I put a stop to that!" "I knew you were just a silly little..." began Raymond to to Cav. "SHUT IT, SUGAR POP!" snapped Cav. ALLEN PETER CLARKE

Immediately waving with his free hand when the man went down, a cord of silver-colored rope was conjured, and wrapped itself around the legs and arms of the prone man. Leaning over as he heard the little encounter between his protege and the other brother, Allen lightly slapped the cheek of Egon a couple of times and chuckled, "don't seem as senile NOW, do I Mr. Scalarry?" The question clearly a condescending one that didn't need answering.
Standing up to his full height once more. He turned around and smiled a bit at the sight of Cav, already marching along the other twin. "Good work there, Miss Havland, I see that your good work may have earned yourself something to eat after all this is done. I'll be buying of course." Leaning over to the bound man on the ground, Clarke attempted to heave Egon up like he used to with detained dark wizards.
Grunting a bit after a try, or two, Allen simply gave up and pointed his wand at the form of the bound man. Levitating from the ground, Clarke turned towards Cavalyn, "so are we all ready to go?" Allen then asked, reaching for Raymond's wand with his free hand and summoning it. "Accio Wand." The piece of wood flying into the open palm of Clarke's hand, which he immediately presented to the girl with a smirk, "here, don't want to risk one of these two blokes knowing wandless magic, do we?" Pointing this out before stooping over to retrieve his own prize.
When Cav immediately turned from her typical, over-sweet disposition to that of a "proper" auror for mere seconds at a time to intimidate Rayond, it brought a smile to the old veteran's face as he gestured for the girl to come along. "Well then, we'd best head back before the others wonder if we've been killed."

Cavalyn watched as Allen did his work. The man was brilliant. She hoped that one day she could be as half as good as he was. Meanwhile, Egon just growled in response to him. Cav then beamed as he commended her and offered to buy her a meal. "Awww, thanks Allen," she said. "You're the best." She then took the wand Allen retrieved and placed it in her pocket for safe keeping. If Raymond tried to grab it where she placed it, it would be slapped out of his shoes. "No sir we do not," she said regarding the risk. She then looked at Egon. "And you underestimated him. You should be ashamed." "Oh shove it up up your..." began Egon. "FINISH THAT SENTENCE AND I'LL RIP OUT YOUR TONGUE, GUMDROP!" she said. Egon shut his mouth. Cav then smiled and nodded at Allen as he said they should head back. "Yep, don't want that," she said. (Bumping up if it's cool) After the twins were taken into custody, Cav stepped over and took Allen's arm before kissing him on the cheek. "So Mr. Clarke," she said. "As I recall, a handsome man offered to take this lady out to dinner earlier." ALLEN PETER CLARKE

Grunting a bit as the young woman brought up the food, Allen began walking with Cav. "Hoped you'd forgotten." The man said in a half-serious tone, though in reality he didn't mind at all, and was quite hungry for something as well. Continuing the pace for a while, Clarke looked around at what places remained open, noting that there weren't many.
"Maybe something from the muggle world?" The old auror suggested before blowing a stray whisker from his mouth. This part of the job had always been a rather frustrating ordeal, finding something to eat at night was usually difficult, but as late as it was always persisted in finding something to do much more difficult. "The Cauldron may still have some business drummed up as well." Allen then suggested once more, though clearly that wasn't at the top of his list at the moment.
The old man had not noticed that a figure had been tailing them, managing to stay just a bit out of detectable range.
Unable to hear the approaching assailant, as the clack of both the wizard's and witch's footsteps hid the others, and the darkness hiding her beneath a dark cloak. Pocketing his wand, and barely half of a second following this act of confidence, a flash of light flew from the tip of an enemy's wand and stuck Allen forcefully in the back, drawing a groan of pain as he caught himself on the stone floor of the alley.
Hitting his head on the ground, things went blurry for a few moments. Pulling himself up, Allen reflexively reached for his pocket, were the wand had been stored. His pockets were empty, however. It had seemed that Allen's wand had flown out of his jacket when being hit by whatever jinx the attacker had used.
Turning around, Allen gestured, and an orb of light flew from his hand to illuminate the immediate vicinity.

Cavalyn gave him a mock pout when he jested about hoping she forgot. "You're not going to hurt a girl's feelings, are you?" she asked. "And here I gave you a kiss." Cav liked the idea of going to a Muggle place. She didn't get to do that a lot anymore. "Oh, a Muggle place sounds great!" she said. "Food here at the same places gets kind of boring after a while, especially from the Cauldron." Suddenly, Allen was struck in the back, and the fire that was in Cavalyn's eyes earlier returned as she spun around and pulled out her wand. At first she saw no one, but Allen fixed that thanks to his ability of Wandless Magic. She now saw the attacking, a large scary woman who was in league with the Scalarry Brothers. It was Viga, the Scourge of Carpathia Street, the Sorrow of Moldavia Village! She stared at Cav with evil eyes, but Cav's own looked matched hers. "Alright, Pumpkin Pie!" she shouted. "You wanna get sassy and take on the great Allen Clarke, will guess what... his trainee ain't too shabby either, so grow some grapefruits and take someone on face to face, you ugly witch!" The woman screamed and was about to chant something when Cav cut her off. "Petrificus Totalus!" chanted Cav, petrifying the woman long enough for Allen to take action. ALLEN PETER CLARKE

"Please," The old man said in a 'brushing off manner', "I'm a married man Miss Haviland." Keeping pace with the young woman.
As the light he had conjured flooded the alley, Allen was met with the sight of the ghastly woman. "Well she IS a large one." The auror remarked as he stood back up, though a bit slowly compared to as he usually did, and sizing up the situation. Before fully standing up, Cavalyn had managed to petrify the opponent temporarily, and this had given Allen at least sufficient time to reach to the corner which his wand had fallen and summon the stick.
No sooner had the tool reached his grasp did Viga find herself free and began firing a powerful barrage of blasts. This immediately forced Clark on the defensive, casting shield charms back to back in order to prevent the mix of curses and jinxes from hitting the target, though he was only in a position to do this for those that had been directed at the elder auror. He was unable to assist his protege, or even mount a proper counter-offensive as the stunning jinx had slowed Allen considerably after the fact.
"Cav!" Allen called to the woman, uncharacteristically using her shortened name due to the situation's need for urgency, "the stun's still slowed me down, I need you to get her!" Knowing that this would be a difficult fight, thanks to the non-stop barrage and the fact that both had been caught off-guard.

Seeing her beloved trainer trying to fight off the bulky witch infuriated Cav. For a moment, Cav joined in using the shield charms as well. However, she had a feeling a witch as cruel as Viga would soon go for an unforgivable, and that would be bad news. So with Allen's command, Cav waited for any opening that would allow her to go on the offensive. Finally, she saw the chance and aimed her wand. "Rictusempra!" she chanted. Suddenly, Viga stopped, dropped her wand, and began laughing hysterically due to the Tickling Charm. Soon she was on the ground howling with laughter, begging for Cav to end the gleeful torture. "Maybe I will and maybe I won't, Hot Cakes!" she said as she grabbed Viga's wand. "Depends on if you come with us quietly and don't try anything stupid... or else I'll double the tickling charm!" "No," begged and laughed Viga at the same time. "No, anything but that. I'll come with you." Cav nodded and ended the charm, aiming her wand as Viga got to her feet. Cav then grinned at Allen. "How did I do?" she asked. ALLEN PETER CLARKE
