Katrina's first date was a disaster. It was a set up blind date with a Hufflepuff named Jason Albers. Katrina had only went out with him because she was talked into the whole stupid blind date thing, and she had a miserable time. Jason was a jerk who automatically thought Katrina would drool all over him. Instead, she showed up in a crappy dress and stomached the date until it was time to leave. Cole, her second "date" would be different. She liked Cole, and there was no denying it. He was smart, handsome, talented, mature. From what she gathered, he didn't let his differing interests or her differing interests affect his opinion of her. In one sense, he drew her to him like his sister Thalia had drawn her back when she hid herself away from the other students. But he drew her in a different sense. She had soon decided that if she could ever consider anyone to be a potential boyfriend, it was Cole Nott. But she would have to see how the date went first, if Cole was willing to call it a date. They would eat at the Three Broomsticks and hopefully take a walk afterward. Or even a jog if Cole wanted to. Katrina wore something a lot nicer this time; an attractive but sensible black outfit and some heels. She even had her hair and make-up done. She felt she looked weird though, and hoped Cole didn't. Now she stood near the Three Broomsticks, waiting and find her stomach felt weird. Katrina definitely had to get used to these new feelings. COLE THEODORE NOTT

I wannah be somebody who's good enough to be seen with you.
Cole had agreed to go with a girl to Hogsmead that weekend. The girl was a close friend of his sisters and he wasn’t sure how she would feel knowing that he was taking out her friend. He wasn’t sure if it would actually be considered a date by most people, but he would call it one. He liked the girl decently well even though he hadn’t spent much time with her. He through she was a great artist and a really nice type of girl and he hoped that she was the kind of girl that he was looking for. Cole was very particular when it came to the women he dated. He didn’t want a date to just be a date; he thought of every date that he went on as getting to know his possible future wife, which was how he wanted it to be and how he liked it. He didn’t want to waste his time with anything else.
He walked to the small wizard village and looked around. The Beater smiled when he saw the girl he was meeting standing by the Three Broomsticks. Katrina looked very beautiful, he would admit, and he didn’t mind at all that she was a year younger than he was, actually, he liked it better than having a girl his own age or slightly older. He wasn’t sure why exactly, it just seemed more conventional. That was a good word to describe Cole Nott: conventional. He noticed her hair and make-up as he walked over and smirked a little bit because of it, he knew that it wasn’t normally how she had it done and she had done it probably just for him, he liked that aspect as well. He liked the idea of a girl trying to look nice for a boy. It was sweet.
“Hey Kat.” He smiled and took her hand in order to place a light kiss on the back of it, and then he let her have it back. Cole was a gentleman, his father had raised him to be so and he was in no position to go against his father, he was worried enough going against him carrier wise. “So what would you like us to do?” he asked her, figuring she had something in mind seeing as she had asked him.

When Cole approached, Katrina was reminded about just how handsome he was. Katrina felt comfortable admiring his looks now that she knew he had just as nice a personality. He could tell from the way he looked at her that he thought she was beautiful too. This caused her to form a smile, an actual full smile. Not a half smile and not a smirk. "Hey Cole, how goes it?" was what came out of her mouth. That was her common greeting for Thalia and Ali, and a few others she talked to. When Cole asked her what she wanted to do instead of insisting on this or that, it meant a great deal to Katrina. Most guys that tried to pick Katrina up loved to talk about where they would go and what they would do, as if they assumed Katrina was going to say yes. She of course said no, and sometimes a few would walk away with a black eye or a limp because they couldn't take that for an answer. But she highly doubted Cole would ever be eligible for a black eye or a bad leg because she felt even if he might say something the wrong way now and then, he was still a decent guy at the end of the day. "Um... I like the Three Broomsticks," she said. "And after that, we could take a walk and talk about things if you'd like." Katrina laughed inside at suggesting that. It need took some "Nott Magic" to break Katrina out of her shell some time back. Thalia had it and Cole obviously did too. COLE THEODORE NOTT

Cole knew that he was a gentleman and he assumed that most people liked him even more because of it. He knew they already liked him, how couldn’t they? At least, all the Slytherin’s did. It was thanks to him that they were having such a great season. He had put together one of the best teams that Slytherin house had ever seen. (or so he liked to believe). Sure, Cole Nott was a little full of himself, but he also liked to be sure that he considered other people, especially in moments like this where he was with someone else; and to add, one that he liked and could possibly come to like more and in a different way. One of the major requirements for Cole to date anyone was that they liked and got along well with his sister, who was one of his best friends and closest confidants. Kat obviously fit this well seeing as she was one of Thalia’s best friends as well.
"Um... I like the Three Broomsticks," she said. "And after that, we could take a walk and talk about things if you'd like." Cole smiled and nodded. “Sure, that sounds good.” Sometimes, he was the type who would take control and plan the entire date out in detail, but that was, of course, when he was the one who asked and when he was the one who was trying to initiate things. In this case, she had asked so he felt it fair to go along with what she wanted to do. Cole held his arm out for her to take as he led her into the three broomsticks and got them a table. “Would you like a butterbeer?” he asked her as they sat down across the small, round table from one another.

Katrina smiled when Cole said the Three Broomsticks and the walk sounded good, mainly the walk. She wouldn't have minded where they ate... well as long as it wasn't Honeyduke's. Blah. A dinner filled with sweets. But really, she had found she was smiling a lot more since she met Cole. She really liked him. She took her arm without any hesitation and walked in with him. Inside, he asked if she wanted a butterbeer as they sat. It was actually her favorite drink but she played it cool and gave a little shrug. "Sure, sounds good," she said. She then took a menu and looked it over before looking at Cole again. She enjoyed looking at him a lot more than she did a bunch of words describing the food they had there. She would probably order her usual anyway. "So... I came to one of your games the other day," she said. "I didn't ever think I'd enjoy a Quidditch game, but you and your team were quite fascinating to watch. I brought by sketchbook with me and drew something." She then reached in her bag and pulled out a sheet of paper. On it was a drawing of Cole and his team making a really impressive move. "You can keep it if you want. I figure since you were graduating this year, it would be something to remember one of your wins by."Katrina was all smiles... and talkative... and taking Cole's arm when usually she wasn't one for touching others. Yep, the girl who swore off dating as early as a few months before was head over heels for Cole Nott. COLE THEODORE NOTT

Cole nodded and ordered a butter beer for each of them as the waiter came over. Everyone liked butter beer; it was personally one of Cole’s favorite drinks. However, if anyone got him one from a bottle, he wouldn’t like it. He would still accept it with a smile and a word of thanks, but nothing compared to the fresh drink from the Three Broomsticks… except maybe the homemade kind that his mother made for them on very, very rare occasions. The drinks came soon and Cole nodded in thanks to the waiter, he took a rather large drink of his and looked over a menu as Kat spoke. He was always hungry, that was a given, but he wasn’t sure if he wanted to eat or not. He’d leave that up to Kat. He could wait.
“You came to a game?” he asked and raised his eyebrow with a smirk on his pink lips. He rubbed the back of his neck as she showed him the picture. It truly was amazing. He wouldn’t be able to do anything half as well as that even if he tried and practiced for years, he was confident in his lack of artistic skill. It hit him, just then how different that he and his date were. She was an artist. He was an athlete. Both were Slytherin’s though, and the two had something major in common, Thalia. And that was good enough, all relationships had to be built. This was one that he was looking forward to building. “That’s amazing, Kat.” He insisted. “I’d love to keep it, thank you, could you hold onto it though until we get back to the castle?” Cole hadn’t brought a bag with him and he didn’t want to fold or wrinkle the drawing, it meant too much. “So would you like to order anything?” he asked her.

Katrina smiled and nodded when Cole made sure she had just said she had come to the game.
"Yeah... I still don't like Quidditch, but I like you so I figured that was enough of a reason to go," she said. There was a joking sense in her voice. It was sort of like her usual light sarcasm, but more good-natured. "Seriously though, the game's a lot more interesting than I thought it was. I like the ball things that chased the players around, trying to knock them off. Made it more dramatic I guess." Kat had no idea what they were called. She hadn't gotten that into Quidditch yet.
She blushed a little when Cole said he liked the picture. She felt silly having just noticed he had nothing to put it in, and placed it back in her bag.
"No prob," she said. "Just remind me when we get back to the Common Room."
He then asked if she wanted to order anything. Kat just shrugged.
"Meh, I usually just get the fish and chips," she said. "But if you want to order one of these appetizer things first, I can give it a try." She looked at the menu. "Except for those pepper things. Not crazy about peppers."
She then looked back at Cole.
"If you don't mind me saying so, I'm almost not surprised that you would be the first person I would want to date," she said. "Something about your family, I guess. Like Thalia was my very first friend here... and you're mom's really cool when she comes to inspect the school. And I'm sure your dad's cool too. All in all, I'd have to say I've become quite the fan of the Nott Family."
Katrina said this with limited enthusiasm vocally, but there was a genuine look in her eyes as she meant every word.

Cole blushed a little when she said that she liked him. Of course, he liked her as well, but he wasn’t yet sure how much or if he was ready to say it out loud. He liked to wait to be sure of everything before he jumped into a relationship. Cole was the type of boy who only dated girls if he was sure that it could go somewhere. And by somewhere, he meant all the way; marriage. Cole thought very seriously about his life, even if he did decide to go against his father’s direct wishes and become a Quidditch player, he still knew that the Nott image was very important to them all and he would need to find a wife who could keep up the image and bring honor to the family name. Cole wouldn’t date anyone who didn’t have pure blood. He didn’t mind so much if they were blood traitors, as long as their blood was pure. “I don’t like peppers either.” He admitted with a smile, noting that they had more in common than he originally thought.
"If you don't mind me saying so, I'm almost not surprised that you would be the first person I would want to date," she said. "Something about your family, I guess. Like Thalia was my very first friend here... and you're mom's really cool when she comes to inspect the school. And I'm sure your dad's cool too. All in all, I'd have to say I've become quite the fan of the Nott Family." this was a very good sign as far as Cole was concerned. He knew that his sister kept good company and Kat was definitely one of the good ones. “Yeah… we are something… that’s for sure.” He nodded about his family. He knew that they had been planning a family trip this summer, and a part of him thought for a moment that it would have been lovely if Kat could go with them. Maybe, if things worked well, maybe he would bring it up to his mother.
“So how about those fried cheese sticks?” he asked with a smile, glancing to the menu.

When Cole said he didn't like peppers either, Katrina cracked another smile. "See, with that information in mind, I now have to marry you," she said jokingly. But in all seriousness, it only added to the list of amazing things about this guy. She was safe to say there was confirmation that she had FINALLY found the right guy. Katrina found it both funny and cute that Cole agreed. He had that Nott pride, but not to an annoying level. The same went with Thalia in Kat's opinion. She found Daphne a bit overboard with the pride thing, but understood it given the woman's position and the fact that her son and daughter were amazing people. "Shame you're leaving Hogwarts after this year," she said. "But you know I'm going to be that girlfriend who writes you all the time and stuff. I'll send you drawings too though." Kat then thought a moment. "Guess it's safe to safe we're a couple, right?"Cole then suggested the cheese sticks. Since she had no cheese with her entree, it worked for her. "Sounds good to me," she said. The waiter then came over to take their order. "Fish and Chips, Butterbeer, and Cheese Sticks." Kat was straight and to the point. "And whatever this guy here is having." Kat gave Cole a cute little smirk. COLE THEODORE NOTT

"See, with that information in mind, I now have to marry you," she said obviously in a joking fashion. He smiled along with her and nodded. Most guys his age would be shying away from marriage and even just joking about it like she had done would drive them away. Cole wasn’t like that, luckily, he had been raised to spend his time looking for a suitable wife, and he had never yet brought a girl home. Finding a nice, pureblood wife turned out to be much harder than he thought that it would be when he promised his father that he would. Of course, Cole wasn’t an extremist, he liked most people, regardless of their blood, and it was mostly the way that people presented himself that made up Cole’s mind on how to feel about that person. That was a reason that he didn’t like most Gryffindors. They were all cocky and stuck up and proud. People always said it was the Slytherins who were bad, but Cole saw it differently; though, he as rather biased.
"Guess it's safe to safe we're a couple, right?" this caught Cole a little off guard. He was one of those guys who believed that the guy should be the one to ask the girl out and all of that conventional stuff. He liked the fact that she was younger than he was, though he did realize that it would be a little weird when he was out of school and starting his life while his girl was still in school, even just for a year. However, that wasn’t a reason to break it off, it was just a challenge. He did like the idea of having her at all of his games. “I think so...” Of course, he still had to talk to Thalia and make sure that it was okay with her that he started to court one of her best friends, he didn’t want it to be weird at all for anyone and his sister was one of his best, closest friends as well. “We’ll see how it goes.” He added with a playful half smirk, knowing that he wanted it to be so. He wanted her to be his girl. “I’ll have the fish and chips as well.” He told the waiter.

Katrina was glad that Cole didn't react too badly to the marriage joke. Katrina definitely did not have marriage on her mind. Maybe things would work out for that one day, and hopefully with the guy she was sitting with. She felt she would enjoy a life with Cole, and would be sister-in-laws with Thalia, which was really cool too. She then shook her head at all this. Waaaay too much to think about right now. It was time to just focus on the date. When Cole said they would see how it went, Katrina knew what he meant, and that had worried her too. There was one key factor here that could make things really go sour for Katrina, and that was if Thalia didn't approve. If not, that would make things awkward with one of her two best friends, and a relationship, nay THE first relationship she had ever been in would end before it really began. Kat sighed a little. "I know we both have to run this by Thalia," she said, feeling there was no point in dodging the issue. "Look, no matter what happens, I just want you to know you're a really great guy, Cole. I... care a lot about you and Thalia both, and I would never do anything to break the bond you both have as brother and sister. So... yeah... just wanted to get that out." She gave Cole a small smile to show she meant every word. She liked Cole, but if worse came to worse, she would be content with just being his friend if it meant Thalia would be happy. I wannah be somebody who's good enough to be seen with you.
Cole was really happy with the way that things were working out with Kat. He had never met a girl that he was able to connect with as well as he was able to connect with her. He knew that his parents would enjoy her as much as he had been enjoying her company of this, their first date and as long as Thalia agreed to the duo, he couldn’t think of a reason why Kat wouldn’t be the perfect pureblood wife for him, someday. He was in no hurry to get married. He knew he would think differently about it if he had agreed to take a ministry desk job, but he hadn’t. He had made up his mind to play Quidditch and he got recruited to the Appleby Arrows. So, with that being the case, he knew that he could put his wedding off for a few years more, he wanted to get to know Kat in every way, he wanted to make sure that he could love her for the rest of his life and that she fit in with his family well enough. Though, there was little doubt in his mind.
So... yeah... just wanted to get that out." Cole took her hand as she spoke. He smiled at the waiter as he set their food down on the table and then he turned his attention back to Kat. “Relax.” He told her. “Just relax.” He insisted again. He knew how much Thalia cared for her friend, and he knew that above all, it would come down to who made who happy, and Kat did really make Cole happy, and his sister would understand that, he knew that to be the truth. “Let’s eat before our food gets cold, then we’ll go on that walk.” He gave a small wink and took a cheesy stick.

When Cole took her hand, a weird but wonderful feeling poured over Katrina. She had never felt these kind of feelings, but with Cole producing them in her, she wanted to feel them more and more. And when he told her to relax, she did. All her worries went away. She knew everything would be alright. Thalia would understand and Katrina would some day be part of a wonderful family. Her own family life have been horrible. She loved her mother, but it had been and that was a sad fact. "Yeah... okay," she said with a smile. "Thanks, Cole." She then looked at the food. It was her usual, but she welcomed it as she realized how hungry she was. "Yeah, cold fish and chips are none too appetizing." She smiled again when he winked at her. "Oh stop being cute," she joked. "You're going to take away my edge." But it was really cute. After the meal, it was time for the walk, which Kat was really looking forward too. She realized how much she enjoyed the outdoors. She was out there quite a good bit after all when she sketched. Maybe it was nicer before of who she was with. Seeing another couple walking about and holding hands, she offered Cole her own hand. "So are you going on the school trip?" she asked. "I know Thalia and Ali are."COLE THEODORE NOTT

Cole knew that he himself could be very uptight at times, especially when it came to girls and family and his sister and most of all, his future. He wanted everything to be perfect and that was when his attention to detail came into play. He wanted to make his father and mother proud and as far as he could see, the only way to do that was to carrying on the name and pass it down in a way that would make sure the name would always be kept in good standing; and that meant prim and proper purebloods. Probably Slytherins too. Almost all of his family had been Slytherins, or so he as aware.
He smiled when she said that he was cute. He knew that he was rather attractive, sure, but it was cute coming from her. "You're going to take away my edge." she said. He smirked and looked at her, “Good, because there’s more to you than you edge.” He admitted.
The walk was rather nice, especially after the meal they had just eaten. It had been decently good food, but the fish and chips weren’t nearly as good as others that he had in the past, it was hard to order fish and chips anywhere in England and not compare them with others you’ve ordered from other places. “Yeah I’m going on the trip.” Cole smiled and took Kats hand, intertwining his large figures around her smaller fingers. “It should be fun, yeah? I’ve been to Italy before, it’s got a romantic element to it.” He added with another smile. “We could do some exploring.”

Katrina kept the smirk when he said there was more to her than just the edge. It was very sweet of him to say though and she was glad he thought that way about her. "Hey thanks," she said. "But now and then I still need to throw in that sarcasm. If for any reason to hear your laugh. You have a nice laugh."
Outside, Katrina seemed content with just holding Cole's hand, so she could only imagine how nice the other romantic stuff was like the hugging and kissing. She was pretty anxious to do all that stuff, but she wasn't going to rush it on Cole. She smiled a little when Cole said he was going on the trip. Her two best friends and her boyfriend in Rome? This was becoming too good to be true. "Never been myself," she said. "But if you like it, I'll take your word for it. And yeah, exploring sounds fun. It will help me pick out stuff to sketch. Some like to take photos of places they've been. I like to sketch. I went to Paris once and drew a really cool sketch of the Eiffel Tower. But other than that, I haven't been outside of England all that much."COLE THEODORE NOTT
