Hiromi had almost everything it took to be in the Black Army. She was cold, cruel, and skilled with a wand. She could pick up on the use of curses quite easily. She had potential to become one of the most powerful Dark Witches of her age.
But there was one thing she lacked... guidance. Dathan saw that in her when he met her. The two didn't get off on the right foot, and Burke had to quickly remind Hiromi of her place and then consequences of defying a veteran member of the Army. That shut Hiromi up enough for Burke to recommend she have a meeting with his beloved friend and business partner Morgaine Deluna.
Hiromi walked about Knockturn Alley, showing little fear of the place. A lowly Dark Wizard approached her with an ugly grin.
"Pretty little thing, aren't we?" he asked. "Wanna come with me for a drinkie or two, pretty little thing?" Hiromi gave him a seductive smile and drew close to him, causing him to smile wider. Then suddenly, she drew back and delivered a curse.
"Sectumsempra!" she chanted, and a slash formed across the man chest. She then walked away from him as he lied on the ground and bleed.
She then walked into Borgin and Burkes, and was immediately greeted by a growling Eligos. She knew enough about the wolf not to anger him further.
"Easy...easy there," she said to him. "I'm just here to see Ms. Deluna."

Morgaine heard Eligos' guarded greeting of the young student and got up from her desk. She glanced at the beautiful old clock on the wall and decided it was probably time for a tea break anyway, then stretched her neck and made her way into the shop front. Dathan had told her about Hiromi, and she vaguely remembered her from the Black Army meeting. Of all the younger recruits, she disliked Hiromi the least, and had been happy to lend a hand in mentoring her. She could see potential, as could her beloved Dathan, and, especially with Isolde so far away half the time now, she was eager to see what that potential could become.
"Miss Yen," she said, stopping next to Eligos and letting her fingers scratch him briefly behind the ears, glad that he was big enough that she didn't have to bend down. "I would tell you he's harmless, but no doubt you're already well aware that he's not." The corner of her mouth twitched slightly. She didn't know what Burke had told Hiromi of Eligos, or if they'd met, but the reactions people had to Eligos were as interesting as they were diverse. The girl wasn't panicky; a point in her favour. "I am Ms Deluna. I see you found the place all right. Good. Please, come this way."
She was still quietly assessing Hiromi as she lead her into the first sitting room, the one she often used to meet with potential clients. She didn't know how well Dathan knew her, or if he would rust her further into the shop, but Morgaine reserved the right to screen all entrants to the back area. She knew Hiromi was half-vampire, a state she approved of, and from Isolde she knew of the girl's reputation at Hogwarts, but she was glad to detect the traces of depth and keen intelligence, another reassuring point.
She summoned a teapot full of water with her fingers as she sat in an armchair and boiled it magically, the cups and saucers following from the kitchen. She added the tea leaves to the brew and set it on the table before her.
"Before we begin, please tell me what you wish to accomplish with our lessons, and I shall tell you if I can be of assistance." @hiromi

Eligos did calm a bit, sitting by Morgaine's side when she arrived, ever loyal to her. The scratch behind the ears helped him calm too. When Morgaine spoke to the girl, he didn't know what she was saying, but he could sense that she was welcomed and would therefore leave her alone.
Hiromi decided to avoid eye contact with the wolf whenever possible. She followed Morgaine inside, focusing on her. Hiromi was famous for speaking her mind and speaking a lot of it, but now she would be wise and keep her mouth shut. She wanted to leave this place alive after all... and not mauled.
Hiromi took the tea and sipped it. She wanted to go for her flask of blood and get a fix, but she would wait. The blood in her flask was the fresh blood on a man she had crossed Diagon Alley. After the flask was filled, she left the man, not knowing of his fate and caring less if he had gotten help or not. She wiped his memory, so he wouldn't remember her.
"I want power as you do, Ms. Deluna," she said, speaking as politely as she possibly could. "I want to be versatile in my abilities. I am half vampire, which in itself has brought many gifts. I am also quite educated in the use of both charms and curses. but I have been told you can teach me much. I give myself to you... ma'am."

Morgaine smiled and sipped her tea. "Well, that's lucky," she replied. "In all honesty, I am merely an adequate witch and a practiced potion maker. The skills I imagine you wish to learn are my natural talents, the... less tangible ones. How to blend in without anyone noticing; how to think and plan at the same time as you speak and act; essentially, how to survive and thrive in any political climate or situation, as do. Yes?" She stirred her tea thoughtfully for a few moments, then got up to search for something in one of the bookshelves. She took her time; her day had been productive if not exciting, and she had a profound sense of inner calm fueling her, a state she sought out at every opportunity.
"There are a number of younger members of the Army, such as yourself. They have potential, all of them, and I can very much see and respect why both my beloved Dathan and the Dark Lady have chosen them. But, at the risk of sounding old and crotchety, the thing your generation often lacks is discipline, and a sense of propriety." Her fingers fell lightly onto a small magazine, tucked away in between two tomes so old their titles had faded away. "From discipline and right action, all other things can flow, at least in my way of thinking. There is no point to an ancient family if one behaves like a low-born village idiot. Nor endless power, if one is unable to control it and use it appropriately." She took the magazine and sat back down on the couch, flipping through it. "There is one thing you must rectify before we begin in earnest though. Tell me; how renowned is your reputation for cruelty and outspokenness, amongst the common rabble?" Her eyes flicked coolly from the pages of the magazine and met Hiromi's. There was no judgement, only a mild challenge and a polite interest in her answer. Of course she was quite aware of Hiromi's reputation; she just had to see if the girl had any sense of self-awareness. Otherwise, no amount of teaching would ever save her from ruin, shoud it come looking for her.

Hiromi showed great interest in what Morgaine had to offer. Power was one thing. Skills like this were another. With what she already knew combined with these skills, she could not only be a future vampire queen, but one of the greatest dark witches of her age.
"I'm intrigued," said Hiromi. "While I've gained many friends at Hogwarts..." If one could call minions "friends". "I've also acquired several enemies that might be a thorn in the Dark Lady's plans." Hiromi couldn't confirm this, but the fact was that her enemies were a bunch of goody goods and would probably try to stand up against the Dark Lady when the time came. "I could be a great help, using your teaching to deal with them early on."
At first Hiromi was a bit offended that Morgaine would say Hiromi had no disciplined because she was young. What did that have to do with anything? Of course Hiromi has a lot of bloody discipline. She wasn't a stupid little First Year. But Hiromi listened on and understood her point. The half vampire did want control after all... total control.
"I suppose I need a little sharpening in that area, ma'am," she said. "So be it. I'm willing to learn that as well."
When Morgaine asked how cruel Hiromi was, she formed a wicked grin.
"There are many at Hogwarts who fear me," she said. "Many who move out of my way when I walk. They know what I am capable of doing, and that I am capable of doing it at a moment's notice. I fancy that fear quite a bit."

Morgaine smiled. This was going to be good, she could already tell. THe young vampire was nowhere near as obnoxious as Isolde had described. For a Dark Witch, Morgaine was not nearly as openly sadistic as most, but vampires had always struck her as very elegant creatures, the polar opposite kin of werewolves, who were pure, savage instinct, in her mind. Vampires had always appealed to her as worthy equals, whereas werewolves... not so much.
"You have a good sense of military strategy," she commented. "A threat eliminated early is a blow well dealt. There may be some you cannot kill, but I'm sure we can figure out a way to neutralise their potential strength against us. It will be a good training exercise. Often, the battles fought on the field are decided long before they reach the physical stage. Were we to face to Ministry and the Order now, it would be a difficult fight, i suspect. Should we succeed in weakening them on all fronts now, they will be like lambs to the slaughter."
Morgaine nodded quietly when Hiromi replied. The reputation was good in many regards. It could pose one or two problems later down the track, but there was time enough to teach the girl had to navigate them with ease, and she seemed highly intelligent, so Morgaine was not worried. "That is excellent," she replied. "Before too long, I think we will be ready for our first test. This is not strictly Black Army business, but it will be a good opportunity to see where your strengths and weaknesses lie. Your reputation will be useful, if wielded correctly." She took a moment to sip her tea, unhurried, as always. There was a man in Hogsmeade who had been very vocal about her illegal activities. For the most part, she had kept him under control with her social front, paying fines or bribing people where necessary. But, of late, Isolde had been living in her house, and Morgaine detested the idea of this man causing her any problems. Also, the BA could not afford any attention at this early stage.
"We must silence a man named Thomas Infedilis in Hogsmeade. However, we must not kill him, for to do so would attract all the wrong kinds of attention. Furthermore, we must not use any traceable magic on him." She finished her tea and looked curiously at Hiromi, smiling. "Thoughts?"

Hiromi knew of the Ministry of course, but she had forgotten about the Order of the Phoenix. They were legendary among wizards and witches. It was the Order who played a huge part in the victories of the First and Second Wizarding Wars. But as much as that legend might have impressed Hiromi to a point, she had met the Dark Lady and could feel the pure, unbridled power in the wicked woman's presence.
"I can meet privately with the other students in the Black Army," said Hiromi. "We can band as a unit and can begin to weaken Hogwarts when we return, break it down a little at a time, quietly and subtly. We can get into the ears of the students... make them believe there is nothing to fear... that there is no threat, and that any who say otherwise are mad. A false sense of security."
Hiromi was beginning to like Morgaine. She was cold and cruel, and knew how to deal with the weak.
"I'll be happy to show you what I can do, ma'am," she said with a grin.
Then she listened as Morgaine spoke of the one known as Thomas Infedilis. Shutting him up without magic could be tricky to some, but now Hiromi. She widened her grin to reveal her retractable fangs.
"We may not even have to use magic," she said. "As a half vampire, I have other ways to deal with problems as well. I can speak to the creatures of the night. Who will blame human beings when it is clear to anyone that a beast did the deed?"

Morgaine pursed her lips contentedly. Yes, this mentoring could be just the ticket to prevent her losing her mind if things got very stressful.
"Excellent," she replied. "Those are both solid plans. And at Hogwarts, you will only be spreading the truth. Those who do not oppose us will have nothing to fear. I must admit though, I've never been quite sure as to how much power vampires have, outside of the usual realm of witchcraft. Is it a lot?" Another idea was forming in her head, but she wanted to see what the truth about vampires was versus mere myth. And, she had to keep in mind, Hiromi was only half vampire. That might change things, too, if her vague knowledge of hybrids was accurate.

Hiromi was happy Morgaine liked the plans, and she would do as her new mentor said at Hogwarts. Spreading panic among the ones who act so brave and benevolent would work much better.
"You have my word, ma'am," she said. "I'm more than happy to let others know of the reality of things. Pull them out of this fantasy world where everything is cupcakes and unicorns."
Hiromi then smiled again when Morgaine asked about vampires. As she was still anxious to claim her father's throne some day, she had studied a great deal about them.
"Some of the old Muggle myths are true," she said. "They are nocturnal and avoid sunlight at almost all costs. They must survive on human blood. They can be ward off by things like garlic. However, they cannot turn into bats and other animals at will like an Animagus. And they do not need cheap hypnotism. They are naturally skilled at manipulation and those like my father have used it to obtain great power. As a Half Vampire, I can survive in the sun. I crave blood as one would tobacco, but I do not need it to live. I am also skilled in manipulation as full Vampires are. And as I said, I can take command of nocturnal creatures. Sharing the powers of a vampire and a witch, I am something of a force to be reckoned with."

Morgaine's smile grew wider. "Excellent on both counts. With Thomas, we will need to ascertain if the idiot has told anyone else what he knows, and if they've taken him seriously or not. Unfortunately, living in the same area for so long has made some of my activities slightly easier to detect. Moving away suddenly would have attracted more attention, though." And she had wanted to stay as close as possible to Isolde while she was at school. "Still, in eight years, so far this is the only problem I've had. It might be time to move on soon nonetheless."
She petted Eligos, considering things for a moment. She wanted to take him, if only to improve his familiarity with Hiromi since she would most likely be at the shop quite often from now on, but she didn't want to risk him. Although she loved him dearly, without Dathan's abilities, she didn't dare take the chance of something happening. "Next time, I promise," she murrmurred to him, hoping he understood her tone. To Hiromi she said, "Well, if you've nothing else to get on with today, we may as well do it now. It will be getting dark, soon."

Hiromi knew this was the chance to show the Black Army what she was about. Morgaine would not have to worry about a thing. The woman could stay out of sight and watch the show. As Hiromi said, when this case was investigated, it would be written off as a beast attack and nothing more.
"You can count on me, Morgaine," she said. "Do you mind if I am to call you Morgaine? After all, we are to be friends after this night, are we not?" And she did want to be this woman's friend. She liked everything about this woman. She was going to be wicked fun to be around.
She watched as Eligos was spoken to. The wolf was drawn to Morgaine, tamed only by her and Burke it seemed. While she could probably talk to the beast if he was nocturnal, neither seemed interested in conversing. Perhaps the two could do so at a future point.
Hiromi rose and grinned at Morgaine when it was time to go.
"I can't bloody wait," she said. Tonight, Hiromi would make her first kill for the Black Army and it would be a sweet one. She could hear Thomas screaming now.

Morgaine smiled wickedly as she rose and held out her hand to Hiromi as she prepared to Apparate. "Of course. When the Black Army is done, there will be no telling us apart for all the unworthy blood we've spilled, and at that point, titles are meaningless." When Hiromi expressed her joy at her first kill, Morgaine knew she had been right to agree to her mentoring.
The place the Apparated to was quiet, which Morgaine liked. It was just getting dark, the evening light hazy over the thick copse they had appeared in. Her torn hanky, the thing she'd left to find her way back to, fluttered gently tied to a tree root. She had come here often over the past few weeks, crouched like a wild thing, her eyes bright and watchful, hidden as no action hid from her. At this time, Thomas would be making his way home, soapbox in hand, most likely half-drunk. There were one or two houses somewhat close, but they were holiday houses. Sometimes the odd student or two made their way down from Hogwarts, but she doubted any would tonight.
"That's his house," she whispered, pointing at a rundown shack some fifty paces away. In truth, they were in his back yard, but Morgaine had long since claimed it in her mind. If all went well, she might soon add the property to her portfolio. The house would have to go, but the land was good. She glanced at Hiromi. "He should be coming home soon. When he gets here, whenever you're ready."

"Oh... forget after tonight," grinned Hiromi. "I bloody love you already!" She then took her hand and the two vanished, reappearing at the planned location. When Hiromi was given the go ahead from her friend and mentor, she smiled and her eyes grew dark. She looked toward the woods, and in a language that spoke to nocturnal creatures, she uttered...
"Come to me, nocturnal children," she said. "Come out... for tonight you feast." Soon out of the woods flew bats and stepped wolves. Rats followed, as well as spiders. She had them make noise so that the man Thomas would wake up. The fellow opened the door and groaned before he saw the girl standing at a distance from his door.
"Eh, what goes on here?" he asked. Hiromi simply nodded to the creatures, who moved in and viciously attacked the man. The scene was too horrid to describe, and in mere moments he was dead. Hiromi watched the whole scene with a grin. Her first kill... not by her hands, but nevertheless by her call. She then looked over at Morgaine to see if she approved.
"I do hope we can do that again very soon," she said as she removed her flask of blood and sipped from it.

Ignatius had been wandering vaguely towards The Three Broomsticks when he had seen Hiromi walk out of the thicket, so he hurried to catch up with her. She looked... different somehow, but he ignored it.
When he saw her command the creatures to attack the drunk at his own front door, though, he stopped in shock.
"Oh..." His eyes widened as the full extent of the situation dawned on him.
MORGAINE
Morgaine was about to step in, but she held back, curious to see what her protege made of the pathetic youth who had witnessed her crime.

Hiromi heard the "Oh" in the familiar voice and turned to see Ignatius. This was her friend and "pupil" standing near her. He had apparently witnessed the murder. Hiromi was now at a conflict. He was a good enough bloke to be around, but if she let him get away, he would run his mouth and destroy everything for her. The Black Army would see her as a failure and kick her out... or worse. If she did survive, she would be nothing to anyone, and that was a fate worse than death. She sighed and thought it over for a moment before approaching him.
"Hello Iggy," she said in a seductive voice. "The mean old man deserved it, you see. He was doing a lot of bad things. Remember when I told you to stand up and do what was necessary?" She then wrapped her arms around him and gave him a kiss on the lips. The boy was cute after all. "You wouldn't tell on me, would you, Iggy?" She then smiled and backed away from him. She seemed like she was going to walk away and trust Ignatius to keep his mouth shut when suddenly she turned to the wolves.
".......Kill him," she said. The beasts charged at the boy, leaping on him to cause Hiromi's second ordered kill of the night. As the horrible and soulless act happened, Hiromi joined Morgaine.
"Well I had to get a kiss out of him," she whispered. "He is quite handsome, don't you think... or was."
