Vincent nodded in agreement. "I haven't met her, either. She's pretty good, though. Hopefully we can compete with her," he replied.
The tension was getting really high, but when the Bats' beater did exactly what Vincent yelled out, he cheered and pumped his fist. The seeker was now well off the pace for the snitch, while the Bats' seeker was still chasing it intently. The Prides' seeker was probably the better player, though, so Vincent still wasn't completely comfortable. In the meantime, the Bats' chasers had scored another goal and were now up by 120 points. If they could just hold out a little longer, the snitch would be totally inconsequential. "I'm not the biggest fan of the idea of cleaning your room, either. It's all in the balance at the moment," he commented as the Bats' seeker started getting closer and closer to the snitch. Nina's angry words were very amusing to him - she was so restrained but still frustrated, it was quite funny.

Nina gave Vin an assuring smile about the band.
"You guys will be fine," she said. "You just have to have that same dedication to the music that you do to Quidditch."
With the goal scored, Nina buried her face in her hands. All was lost.
"It's hopeless," she said. "Just tell me what mixture you use to clean your brooms." Then suddenly the Prides' Seeker got back in the game and in a dramatic last effort zoomed in and grabbed the Snitch. When Nina heard the cheers for it, she thought the Bats' Seeker had won.
"Why do I do daft things?" she said. She then heard the fans chant "Prides! Prides! Prides!" Nina looked her and smile formed on her face when she saw the Seeker holding the Snitch. She cheered and screamed for a bit, and then looked down at Vin...
She didn't have the heart. She just didn't. She sighed and extended her hand to him.
"Hey love, how about we change the stakes a bit," she said. "You buy me a milkshake when we meet up in Diagon Alley some time. You're one my good mates. I couldn't subject you to the disaster that's my room."
"Good for you, Nina," said her dad. "Tell you want, for that when we get home, I'll help you clean it up." Nina hugged her dad.
"Thanks," she said. "You're the best."
"You're welcome, sweetheart," said Peter. "And speaking of Diagon, dinner at the Leaky Cauldron on me. What do you say, Vincent?"

The Prides' seeker had really done an amazing move to get the snitch from that position. Vincent had to concede defeat in the bet, and he just shook his head and smiled. "Well, with a move like that, they deserved to get the win. That was an amazing turnaround, their seeker really is something else," he commented admirably. When Nina looked at him and had that look of pity and suggested they change the stakes, he shook his head initially. "Hey, a bet is a bet. I'm going through with it, unless you're absolutely determined to change it. But as far as I'm concerned, that's what I signed up for, and you don't need to ease up on me - I'm cool with it," he reasoned. He wasn't one to take a pity vote, that was for sure. Ultimately it was up to her, but in his eyes he should have to follow through with the bet.
"Oh, dinner sounds awesome," he replied. "I'm famished after all of that excitement. Thanks for the generosity, Peter," he said with a warm smile. As the Bats trudged off the field dejectedly, they all got up from their seats and headed out of the stands.

Nina couldn't believe what she was hearing. She was sparing Vincent of the utter horror of cleaning her room. It wasn't like her room was disgusting or anything. Just a big mess. Nina honestly didn't feel right about having someone else do it though, and despite winning the bet, she still felt silly for making it.
"Vin, love, it was a bet made in haste," she said. "That room's my responsibility and it's bad enough I've put it off. Leaving it to someone else to clean up is even worse, especially when that someone is a good mate like you." She then gave her friend a hug. "So can we just stick with you buying me a milkshake... and maybe a new Prides t-shirt?" She stuck her tongue out at the last part.
"Nina..." said her dad.
"I'm kidding, love, just the milkshake," she said with a laugh.
Peter and Nina then rose.
"Well let's get over there before their dinner crowd moves in," said Peter.
(Nina's done here.)

When she insisted on it, he gave in. He supposed that he took bets a little more seriously, but that wasn't that big of a deal, he supposed. "Okay, if you insist," he conceded. "But I can definitely buy you a milkshake," he said as they got up and got ready to go. Peter was right that they should move off before the rest of the crowd went out, because it was likely that everyone leaving would be heading off to buy food.
