"I definitely agree with that, love. Problem is just figuring out when and where to be in order to prevent her from making any of her attacks. She's not that easy to pin down, and it's been rather frustrating for myself and the rest of the Auror division of the Ministry," he replied with a sigh. Wars just weren't pleasant, especially when it was stressing those close to him to near madness at the bare minimum. He especially didn't like seeing Hermione all stressed out and pushed to her limits, especially when it was from all of what was going on. They were already dealing with injuries left and right from their family, and that was really making him more and more pissed. Hugo had been injured, his father had been hurt again, who knew which family member would be next? Would it be one of his nephews? Would it be his daughter? Would it be Hermione? Would it be himself? He just didn't know, and he'd much rather not think about it at all, least he accidentally start worrying Hermione due to how stressed out he'd get from that.
"Sounds like a plan. Of course though by teaching you any good strategies, the hope would be that you evolve them on your own, or else I'd know exactly what you were going to do with any strategy that you use that was learned from me," he replied with a grin of his own. The kiss on the cheek had been a relief for him as it showed that she was calming down some at least. Well hopefully he'd be able to keep a smile on her face the rest of the night. Beat her being stressed or sad at any rate. @hermioneg

Hermione nodded, feeling deflated. They had already fought one war together and survived. Could they survive another? They had lost so many during their Hogwarts years, she had never anticipated that another dark witch or wizard would be upon them again, especially so soon after Voldemort. She looked in to Ron's eyes, realizing once again that his extended family were in grave danger. His father had been injured again, and now their son. She snuggled up into his shoulder, as if this would shield her from the outside world. Everything felt right when she was with Ron. He made her feel safe. And for a few moments she felt as though they could stay in their home and nothing would touch them. Hermione looked up again as Ron spoke. He was grinning now, which was she pleased to see. As she often did in high-strung situations, Hermione had become much more emotional and irritable, to which she felt ashamed. She wasn't a teenager anymore. 'You know I never thought of that, Ronald Weasley,' she said with a smile. 'Perhaps you could just show me the basics and I could carry it on from there?' She sat up and brushed her bushy brown hair away from her eyes. 'Right then. So if I were to move one of my pawns here-' she pointed hypothetically to one of them. 'What would be your next move?'RONALD BILLIUS WEASLEY

Wars were just not a pleasant thing to think about. Heck, there was a lot that was unpleasant to think about, and any one that involved losing a family member in any way ranked pretty darn high in his mind. He didn't want to lose any family member, for any reason, be it death or just them leaving for one reason or another. It was thoughts like that which scared him quite a bit. He wasn't a fan of rumors that put his family at risk either, in any shape, form, or fashion. He knew though that some rumors were just best left unmentioned for fear of causing trouble. He kept his poker face on while contemplating those thoughts, then letting them slide right out of his mind. There were much better ways to spend one's time than fearing the worst on anything.
"Sounds like a plan to me," he replied with a smile of his own. He was eager to distract her from the troubles that were quite possibly on the horizon. Thankfully their game of Wizard's Chess promised to do just that, with her already asking him for advice on strategy right off the bat. "Well in theory I'd move my knight to the front to keep my pawns protected. Or I could bait your pawn with one of my own into either one of my knights or later on one of my bishops," he replied, giving it some thought before replying. It was almost simple how he could play this game, but it wasn't all that easy to shrink it down from complex to simple for others. Well, there were worse ways to spend his time, and he truly did love spending time with Hermione. There just wasn't anyone else for him that would make him happy. @hermioneg
