"I got a real treat for you all today," said Hagrid. It was the same thing he said every club meeting, but really it was true. For those interested in Magical Creatures, what Hagrid showed them was a treat. Hagrid had befriended almost every Magical Creature on the grounds, and because of that most didn't run or hide from him, even if he had students with him. Stepping into one of the non-forbidden forests, Hagrid showed the Magical Creatures Club a strange bird. "This right here is a Diricawl. I call her Crumpet because the first time I met her, she took about all of my afternoon snack." Hagrid chuckled at this while the Diricawl eyed the students curiously. "Fascinatin' birds, these Diricawls are. Interestin' fact is the Muggles believe these birds to be extinct from years of them huntin' them down. The Muggles even gave'em this silly name- Dodo. With all due respect to Muggles, not a very well thought out moniker at all. What Muggles don't know is that Diricawls are magical birds and can vanish whenever there's any sign of trouble. They got so tired of the Muggles huntin' them down that they all vanished, and they now stay exclusively in areas where us magic folk live."
Hagrid then looked down, and the bird looked back at him. "These here are my friends in the Magical Creatures Club, Crumpet," he said. "You got nothin' to fear from them, lass. They're as gentle as they come to magical and non-magical creatures alike. Go over there and say hello to'em." The Diricawl hesitated, but not for long, and then made her way over to the students. "Now students, if she permits you to pet her, do so one at a time," he said. "Takes her a bit, but she'll warm up to ya soon enough."@evangeline @maddkitty @katharina @lilly LORCAN ELIJAH SCAMANDER ROSALIE POSEY HARPER PETER ALLEN DEVOLL JR.

At first, Rosalie had joined the club because she needed something to do back in her third year. With her childhood friends joining this club and that – okay, so it was mostly Thalia, but the brunette never spent much time with Andrea unless Thalia was there, too – and she had felt left out. She had, at that point, realized that there was nothing she could do about switching houses. She needed a means to feel closer to her own house mates, and figured that the club would be fun. After all, she had enjoyed the class well enough that she had tried her hand at it. As she had gotten older, she had realized that the club was kind of a way for her to outlet some of her feelings. With being careful not to anger any of the creatures, she found it soothing to control her emotions and get them to try to trust her. In a weird way, it almost made her feel…liberated and free. So, now, her eyebrow lifted in a morbid curiosity at the bird. They had ready about it, but she didn’t think that she’d ever see one. Perhaps it had been because she had been too busy playing tag, drinking tea, or staying directly by her mother’s side when she had been younger instead of outside looking at any of the animals.
But, the Muggles? Muggles were odd folk. She had nothing against them, she just didn’t particularly feel like integrating into their part of society; especially if they were going to think that a bird as interesting as the Diricawl was extinct. Although the Magical Community didn’t have better names for the poor little birds, she found that they were still incredible to look at. It wasn’t that they were really rare, because there were others that were, but she hadn’t ever see one as open with a giant group of people as the one that Hagrid had. Perhaps it was because the half-giant was the one teaching them. Hagrid had a way of making everyone feel safe when they were around him, however intimidating he had been at first. (As a tiny first year, Rosey had nearly fallen flat on her face when she first let her eyes rest on the giant man.) She had long since gotten over her fear of him, and now found him to be pleasant company. It wasn’t that she disliked any of the other teachers – she didn’t! – it was just that she never felt she could be as open around them.
Nodding her head, she set her stuff down slowly onto the ground and moved her way forward a little. It wasn’t a lot of stuff, really. Just her bag with a couple of books in case she had enough time after the club meeting was over to go ahead and go to the library to try to finish an essay. “Can I ask where you found her, Hagrid?” Rosalie made sure not to make too many sudden movements. She had walked as forward as she could without drawing a crazy amount of attention to herself. She bent down, folding her knees under her and extended her hand out so that the Diricawl could come closer to her if…she wanted to.

(Making a post for all my students in the club)
As Nina...
Nina beamed at being able to finally see a Diricawl given she had read a great deal about them. The Diricawls were actually one of several creatures that were once known to the Muggle world, but were now assumed to be extinct simple because they fled to the areas more known to wizards and witches. She waited patiently as Rosey approached the bird first, and awaited Hagrid's answer about where they were found.
As Viona...
Viona stood a bit closer to Rosey, but still waited for her turn. She smiled at the bird whenever the creature met her eyes between looking at Rosey and deciding if she should approach the girl.
"She's lovely, isn't she?" said Viona. Some wouldn't agree. Diricawl's were not exactly the prettiest of birds, both in the opinions of magical and non-magical folks alike. But Viona was the girl with the heart of gold and found beauty in everything.
As Silvia...
The same could said for Silva, who stood by Viona and just smiled for a moment.
"I wish we had some pumpkin seeds," she said. "I hear Diricawls are quite fond of them."

Hagrid turned and smiled at Rosey when she asked about where Crumpet was found. "Oh not far from here, Miss Rosey, not far at all, just a few miles west of here. Though again it's often difficult to spot a flock of Diricawls on account of their general nervousness around people. They tend to vanish should they hear one approach. Crumpet here's a bit more used to folk than most of her lot."Hagrid then smiled at Silvia when he said she had heard the odd birds liked pumpkin seeds. "That they do, Miss Silvia," he said. "Diricawls have a bit of a strict diet in fact. Only eats certain seeds and certain insects, both fortunately bein' plentiful here."As Hagrid had said, Crumpet seemed not to be overly nervous around the club members. The bird soon made her way over to Rosey and allowed the girl to pet her. Once she knew it was the person's intent to show affection, she quite enjoyed it. Hagrid of course was the one who showed her how pleasant being petted could be. @evangeline @maddkitty @katharina @lilly LORCAN ELIJAH SCAMANDER ROSALIE POSEY HARPER PETER ALLEN DEVOLL JR.

Jack stood in the back of the pack like normal thinking about how beautiful the bird was. Quitely the girl made her way to the side of her friends and smiled. "She sure is pretty." Jack had Kitten in her pocket and has spaced leaving the small animal in her house in the dorm room. But the small hedgehog had been snoozing away since lunchtime. Soon the bouncing red head Lilly bounced up late but quickly stopped and turned her clam on. "Hiya everyone. Aww such a cute bird. I'm sorry im late, I was helping in the library." Lilly smiled.
