Bryony tried not to make a face when Silvia spoke of creatures that could crawl into one's ears. She liked to think that her cousin was wrong about such a creature existing but that didn't make it any less disturbing of an idea. At Silvia's suggestion Bryony smiled softly before focusing on breakfast, her stomach still in knots she found it hard to finish but she managed enough to not seem too distressed, at least she hoped. that her Aunt and Uncle would not be as suspecting as Silvia. Having only come in her jacket Bryony found herself borrowing some of Silvia's extra winter wear before setting out on their hike. Dawning a knitted hat and gloves along with her warm jacket Bryony found herself nuzzling into it as they walked. Her mind was adrift for a while, that was still she found herself almost stumbling over Buttercup. Pulling herself from the depths of her inner thoughts she blinked and got her bearings. "Silvia," She said pulling the top of her jacket away from her mouth, "....." She chewed at her lower lip before reaching her hand out looking for her cousin's. How she wished she could explain about the torment she was feeling after learning the truth about Preston. To explain how foolish she had felt for getting involved with a boy like him, getting involved with a hunter of all people. She sucked in a cold breath of air, how it burned in her lungs. "I'm sorry I've been so distant lately...I just feel like such a fool Silvia. Going to the ball with him, you know I should have known better then to - who goes with someone when its clearly just a desperate plea to not be going alone?" It wasn't the whole truth, it was only a part of it. She did regret going with him, regretted letting him into her life, for trusting him, but worst of all for letting him into her mind where he could not eat away at her. How she longed to rid herself of him, but it felt like an impossible task. Was this some sick twisted love? Or was she learning just what it felt like to suffer from obsession. "It's stupid..I know, I guess it just hurt in the end and I didn't know how to take it." She chewed on her lip as she finished her words. She could never know the full reason for her guilt though. No, she couldn't lose her because she made this mistake. Silvia was her rock, though everything she had always been the one who was there, the one who she needed and loved most. words: 445 tag: @moonberry ooc:

Buttercup gave a slight whimper at the near stumble, simply out of surprise. He then just sniffed Bryony hand and gave it a single lick before going back about his own business of curiously looking at things he had seen hundreds of times. Silvia then listened to Bryony and why she was so distant... why she had been so hurt. If there was anyone who would listen to every word one said and not miss a thing, it was Silvia. This was especially true when it came to her cousin, the person she loved more than anyone in the world. Silvia knew little about this Preston guy, but she did know now that he had greatly upset Bryony. She had saw the boy at the dance and had of course tried to talk to her cousin, but she also wanted to focus on her one-time date with Sam, who went with her as a friend since the tournament champion needed a date. When Bryony was finished, Silvia stepped over and took her hand. "Making a mistake doesn't make you a fool, Bryony," she said. "I'd imagine we'd all be fools if that were so. I would look at it this way though- you most likely learned about his true nature before it was too late, and now know to avoid him. I'm almost absolutely certain that won't be as easy as it sounds, but I know of a few spells if that can be of any help." Silvia wasn't joking. She actually knew of some great spells that would allow one to be avoided by select people. "I would need a lock of his hair though, or perhaps a fingernail clipping. Those work too, though aren't as efficient as the hair.BRYONY CATE MOONBERRY

Bryony gave Silvia's hand a squeeze, her concern was endearing but Bybony just shook her head softly. How she wished she could explain why she couldn't avoid Preston, explain why she needed to keep the boy in her life. She needed to keep an eye on him, know if he would one day come after the sweet ravenclaw. But there was more to it then that, wasn't there? More than she was willing to admit, ever. "Its okay Silvia, I don't need to avoid him, I mean I really can't. We share a house at school, besides we're...friends, sort of. Its just awkward and...I just-" Bryony sighed and looked to the ground. Messed up. Royally. A hunter, she had gotten involved with a bloody hunter and was now sworn to keep his secret and urged by her mother to stay on his good side with the hope he might rub off on her. "It just feels like such a mess, and I don't even know how things got like this. He was lovely, but there was some one else. So that was that." She looked back up at Silvia and tried to offer a smile. No it wasn't the whole truth. It never could be the whole truth and that was going to eat a way at her. But Preston didn't have a place in her life, he couldn't. That was how it had to be. "I'm a Moonberry though, we can bounce back from anything. This is no different surely, I guess I just need to take some time. That's what most people do with this sort of thing...I think." Except this wasn't just another another silly little bit of jealousy, it was that and then some all wrapped into a giant mess. "After all, I have you, that's what matters." Having her and keeping her safe. Even if it meant playing along with Preston, keeping a fallen angle in her life to keep her safe. That could be the only reason. words: 336 tag: @moonberry ooc:

Silvia listened, her eyes fixed upon her sad, wonderful cousin, a girl she would forgive for most anything in a heartbeat and forget it ever happened. Silvia just wanted to help her- anything to make her happy again. But what advice could Silvia give here? Silvia had never been in love before. She had a few male friends, but had never been in love. But then again, it obviously didn't seem like Bryony loved this Preston. "I could go on about relationship advice, but it's far from my place to give any of that, so I'll try to be as simple as I can on this," she said calmly, not showing her own frustration at her lack of help. "No matter what happens, what anyone says or does to you, remember at the end of the day... you're Bryony Moonberry. No one can change that. I know that might sound a tad confusing now, but when you do think about it, I feel it will make more sense."
Silvia then smiled a little when Bryony believed she would survive this, and that she always had Silvia. "Always," she said softly before giving Bryony's hand a squeeze in return. BRYONY CATE MOONBERRY(Thinking this might be a good wrap up point.)

Bryony found herself smiling softly as Silvia tried to offer words of advice, not because of the struggle Silvia had trying to find the right words but because of the sentiment. What did she ever do to deserve the gift of the the wonderful girl in her life? To be able to have such a bond with her, how did she deserve that? Maybe she wasn't the monster that Preston was, or that even some of the others of her house were, or even her mother...but she was no saint. Silvia was right though, she was Bryony Moonberry. How often had someone in the family reminder her of that? It was silly in some ways that she seemed to be the sort that needed that constant reminder of who she was, what she was. But in the end of the day she was still a Moonberry. Her mother could dig her claws into her more and more but she would never be a Carrow, she could marry any number of men with names of power but she had always been and would always be a Moonberry, in name and in blood. Moving closer to Silvia, Bryony dropped the girls hand and wrapped her arms tight around her cousin, her squeeze compressing the winter jacket she wore. "I hope you know how much I love you..." Not that Bryony had any doubts that Silvia knew she loved her, or even the depth of that love. But she needed to say it, maybe more for herself than Silvia. She need to say it more often, while she knew she had the chance. Bryony pulled away from her embrace, placing her hands on the other girl's shoulders offering a small smile. "Should we head back? We could make some hot chocolates and I can give you one of your Christmas present - I know its early but I won't tell if you don't." She smiled a bit wider as she thought about the clay Antipodean Opaleye she had sculpted and painted for Silvia, enchanted to blink and look as if it was breathing. Maybe she hadn't gotten all her troubles off her mind but after letting a bit out she felt as if she might be able to start moving past everything, that maybe she had the strength to fix this mess. words: 389 tag: @moonberry ooc: sure
