Adelina was always quick to notice how many in the Great Hall sat with their own House for meals. Given she was told on her very day of her very first year that one's House was one Family, she could see the logic behind it. But she didn't feel that way. Her list of friends extended beyond Gryffindor House and she often sat with them at meals, along with the Gryffindor friends of course. Then there was her sister, Ali. The two had much in common of course, but were quite different as well. Ali was a bit on the wild side. Adelina, on the other hand, was the prim and proper type, constantly practicing good etiquette and proper discipline. They were also from separate Houses. Ali was Slytherin and showed the traits of her house and Adelina did likewise with Gryffindor. Still, Ali was her sister and Adelina loved her and loved spending time with her. That evening, she felt like sitting and talking with Ali at dinner. She had a few things to discuss and a few questions to ask, one of the main ones being why Ali seemed so secretive as of late. (Note: I figured Adelina wouldn't know about the dragon, but being her sister would notice the secretiveness.) ALIETTA MARIE KRUM

Alietta wasn't one for group meals, mostly, because the only people she ever ate with were Thalia and Kat, and, while she loved them both, she wasn't really in the mood for chatter and such that they would bring. So, she sat alone on the edge of her table and thought about her hatchling. The Dragon had grown a bit in the last few months, but not yet enough to be thought of as anything but a baby. Chaunce had been there when he hatched. She was glad that at least one person knew. Soon, she would enlist Hagrid. She didn't know the man well, but she had heard stories from her uncles and aunts and she knew he was the one to talk to.
Alietta was a bit surprised when a younger girl sat with her and was a bit shocked to see the red in her outfit. Her younger sister was joining her. Ali loved her sister and brother and would always protect them, but her and her sister were so different. Her parents had succeeded with Adelina. They had made her a proper Lady, something Ali knew how to be, but saved for special occasions. "Adelina." Ali greeted her sister with raised eyebrows. "Fancy seeing you, love." she added, curious as to what she wanted, if anything.

Adelina could tell Ali was surprised to see her. That was to be expected. It seemed as if the communication between the two was significantly less at Hogwarts than it was at home. That wasn't because they disliked one another, far from it. Simply because Ali had her life and friends and Adelina had hers. Still, Adelina smiled at her as she properly prepared her tea and silverware before beginning to dining. "I just felt like sitting with you tonight, Ali," she said. " I miss talking with you here. It seems we have a far stronger bond at home when it's just us and our brother. And we can can discuss more." Though last Christmas, they didn't really get to discuss what Adelina had been wanting to discuss. With a sigh and at the risk of poor manners, Adelina got right to that. "Ali, I'm worried about you," she said. " I don't what it is of course, but I know there is some great secret you're keeping lately. You know I'm no tattle tell. I wished you would confide in me."ALIETTA MARIE KRUM

It was true. Ali had spent a majority of her Christmas holiday with Chaunce or the hatchling. She had cast more charms around it than she could count. He was hidden, always. And he was safe, always. Ali was surprised by how calm and well behaved her dragon was. But he had an attitude, if he were hungry, he was never afraid to show it, mostly by nipping at Alis' arm, not hard, but sometimes hard enough to break the skin. He was a lot shier with his fire breath than he was with his teeth.
Alietta knew her family would wonder what she was doing, but she had figured that they would just come to believe that she was sneaking off with Chaunce, an act that would have her family freaking out on her more than they would if they knew about the Dragon. The truth was, Ali didn't want to tell anyone. Not yet Not until she was sure they were both safe. She knew the school rules: if it got around, she could be expelled. And, while school wasn't important to the Slytherin, she knew that she at least had to graduate. She was to close to lose it all now.
"You're worried about me?" Ali asked her sister with a small smirk, "Darling, I'm worried about you, you used the wrong spoon to stir your tea. What will mother say?" Ali teased light heartedly, though she was sure it would throw her sister off. "Seriously Lina, are you ever going to have any fun? Doesn't it ever get boring for you following all mothers and fathers rules?" She asked, quite proud of her change of subject, but also rather curious.

Adelina actually did blush in a tad bit of shame when she looked to see the wrong spoon was being used. She must have been distracted with her great concern for Ali. She wuickly cleaned the spoon off and took the proper spoon. She said nothing of it though, as it would make her sound silly as Ali probably felt she was at times for overly-focusing on her etiquette. However, when Ali asked Adelina if she ever had fun, the younger sister did have something to say about that. "Of course I have fun, Ali," she said. "But your idea of amusement and mine are a good deal different. I like tea parties and you like... well party... parties. And I don't follow mum and dad's rules because I am forced to. I find their rules fair and so I in turn show my respect for them. If I found a rule to be unfair, I would certainly object."But Adelina sort of wondered if Ali had a point... was Adelina that boring? "Anyway, back to you," she said. "It seems you intend to keep whatever this secret is, but I at least hope you aren't doing anything rash." Adelina took Ali's hand for a moment. "You know I am only being a pest because I love you."(I just realized Ali and Adelina are both Disney channel actresses, )

Alietta smirked as she watched the color spread across her sisters face. She had caught her in a lapse of concentration, something she was sure she would never see again. Of course, Ali was proper around her parents. She had a legacy to live up to and she respected them both. So, at gatherings, Ali was dressed up and perfect. But at school, she was free to be herself, which was a mixture of the perfect, French Veela and the tough and free Bulgarian.
"It just gets so tiring being a perfect little Veela Girl. Have you ever just gone out and not cared about what you were doing or when you would be back?" Ali cocked her head, she knew boys were a controversial subject in their house. No boy was ever good enough for Alietta or Adelina. That was a main reason Ali snuck around with Chaunce and hadn't brought him home. "Have you even ever kissed a boy, Lina?" She asked her quietly. She and her sister had really never talked about things like this, but Ali began to wonder: if she didn't talk to Lina, and their mother didn't either, then who would? When the subject was turned back to her she sighed, "Don't worry about me, Lina. I can handle my own. You'll know eventually." She promised

Adelina knew she could do as Ali did and be a bit less proper at school, but she couldn't bring herself to do so. She enjoyed being like that. Still, she never once told her mum and dad that Ali was different at school. She would never keep her sister from being who she wanted to be. Adelina sighed when Ali asked if she ever went out and not cared about going home. "I suppose not," she said. "Though to be perfectly honest, I have no interest in going out too late.. or too far."Adelina then blushed when Ali asked about her being kissed. There was Nevan, but she wasn't sure how serious she was with him, perhaps not enough to bring it up to Ali... now anyway. "I'd rather not answer that right now if you don't mind, thank you very much," she said. She found the way she said this was a tad rude, but she decided not to apologize as Ali would probably call her out for that. Adelina then gave a slow nod when Ali said not to worry about her. "Again, you know I won't tell mum and dad," she said. "But please be careful wherever it is you're going to and whatever you are doing."Adelina gave her sister a small smile. She never told Ali this outright, but given the girl was only one year her senior, Ali meant the world to her. And she believed in her heart that should Ali ever be in danger, Adelina would cast the prim and proper persona aside and fight for her sister at any cost. This is part of what made Adelina a Gryffindor. ALIETTA MARIE KRUM

Ali knew that her parents would never approve of Chaunce and that's why she never brought him around. Chaunce was everything that they didn't want for her: He wasn't proper. He was silly. And independent. And free. And just all over a goofy guy. Ali was expected to marry someone of high standing who could provide for her for the rest of her life. But truth be told, Ali didn't want protection and she didn't want to be provided for. She wanted adventure. Ali had always been independent but now she was finally free. Thanks to her dragon, she now knew what she was going to do with the rest of her life and that was a feeling that feed her more than any other ever had.
"Just so you know Lina, you are allowed to be whoever you want to be. So don't let one slip ruin you." Ali hoped that her advice would set well with her sister. After all she was speaking from experience. When Lina refused to answer her question, her entire countenance took on a serious expression. "I know that it can be hard to talk to mum about these things, so if you ever need to talk about something like that, you could always try to find me, I'm normally around somewhere." She hoped that her last comment would stick as well. Ali herself knew how hard it was to talk to their mother about things like that and she didn't want Lina to have to go through the same things. After all, that was what big sisters are for. "I'm just not ready for everybody to know yet. I promise when I am I will tell you. But I promise you I'm not in any danger." Ali knew that was true. Her dragon would never seriously hurt her.

Adelina smiled and nodded about being who she wished to be. "I know," she said. "But please understand this IS what I like to be. I like being polite and eloquent and yes perhaps a bit dull at times. Please know I have nothing whatsoever against you and how you like to be a bit on the wild side. In fact, I find it makes you a very fun sister to have and all the more enjoyable to be around you."
Adelina then blushed and decided that Ali was right- if she couldn't tell her sister about this, who could she tell. "His name is Nevan," she said. "He's from my House. He's very... he's very nice... and I fancy him..." It was weird for her to talk about things of a romantic nature. Adelina finally accepted that Ali would be alright and decided to drop the matter of the secret. Besides, it seemed they had a new subject now. ALIETTA MARIE KRUM

Ali wasn't surprised that her sister has taken so well to their lifestyle. Their mother had to. It was their aunt that rebelled. Aunt Fleur married an improper husband, whom, while her family did come to love, was obviously not their first choice for their oldest daughter. Aunt Fleur had been tough and fought in the Triwizard tournament as well as in the war. Ali never feared danger. She knew what she was capable of... and who she had by her side. "I understand that." Ali insisted with a nod. "But if it ever feels like its... too much, don't feel like you're stuck." She added.
While it was weird to Ali to have a Gryffindor sat at her table, Ali was really glad that her sister has decided to sit with her. Even if she would never say it out loud. "And what has been happening with this boy?" Ali asked with raised eyebrows and a small wink to tease her sister. Ali was, for the most part, a light hearted woman. But she also knew when to be serious. "Would dad kill him?"

Adelina laughed a bit when Ali told her she would never have to be stuck with having a polite personality if she decided to change. "Well if I ever want to spice life up a bit, I'll let you know right away," she joked. Adelina's eyes then widened when Ali asked if her dad would kill him. She had of course heard of people fearing her dad and supposed that had a good reason given his reputation on the Pitch. She of course saw her dad in a different way as she and Ali had seen a side of him most others didn't, the loving father... But maybe it was the loving father that would destroy Nevan if something went sour. "No... no of course not," she said slowly. "He's very nice... like I said... dad would like him... I think..." She then looked at Ali. "So... could you help me? I'm sort of new to the romance thing."ALIETTA MARIE KRUM

"Oh trust me. If dad had his way, no boys would dare to come around either of us unless he had picked them." Ali smirked to her sister. It was mostly true. Their dad had high expectations for their future husbands and he was undoubtably sure that no man would ever be good enough for either of his perfect, Veela daughters. "No matter how nice he is. But don't worry about that too much. At the end of it all, it is your choice." Ali had to admit, she was thrilled when her little sister asked her for help. She always knew it would happen someday. "Of course! So tell me what exactly we're dealing with." she smirked.

Adelina somewhat calmed herself when Ali told her not to worry about her father, and that she had the right to choose who she wanted. Things would probably be different if and when her dad met Nevan, but for now her sister had comforted. "Thanks, Ali," she said softly. "Perhaps this is where I will go a bit against father's wishes." Wow, she just said that? She liked Nevan enough to do that? She shook that out of her mind and decided to go on about him in order to give Ali a better idea of how to help her. "Well, Nevan is very much your typical male in many ways," she said. "He enjoys fun, music, Quidditch, and of course the company of females. But he doesn't have an ego. He's very sweet and just one of those people you love being around. If he had a negative trait, I'd say he was a bit stubborn about things at times, but I can overlook that." ALIETTA MARIE KRUM

Ali smirked as she listened to her sister describe the boy. He sounded, all in all, typical. He probably was. Not that there was anything wrong with that. Though, Ali wasn't typical. She was, after all, a dragon mother now. Chaunce of courae was just as unusual as Ali was. He was her partner in crime, especially now. "Okay. Well what all has happened with him?" Ali asked and refreahed her tea, wondering if her sister had even drunk anything stronger than the wine they had with meals at home. She doubted it. "What'as his last name? Good family?" She asked. Due to being related to the Weasleys, her parents knew a lot of peopl, and knowing other families helped a lot.

Adelina then blushed when Ali asked what all had happened. She didn't blush because a LOT had happened, but rather because so little had happened. "To be honest... he and I talked a lot at the New Year's dance," she said. "And I enjoyed it very much. But really we just talked. But since then, my feelings for him have been getting stronger. The more I'm around him... well... you know..." She smiled a bit. She also knew the importance of family. Her father's family was famous, so was her mother's, and then there was the Weasleys. There was so much history there and so many accomplishments. "His last name is Coote," she said. "His family is well to do, and his father works in the Ministry, but that's all I really know. Perhaps Aunt Fleur might know more about him." Well, there were several Ministry workers who came to mind, but Fleur popped into her head first, perhaps because Fleur was often at Hogwarts to reverse accidents caused by poorly executed spells.
