ABILITIES: Wandless Magic
- - - - - - - - - - - - - -
LIKES: sunny days, helping others, feeling useful, magic (especially coming from a muggleborn family), her father, and painting (generally without magic), writing
DISLIKES: her blushing habits, her jumpiness, snakes, edges, yelling, horror movies
BIGGEST FEAR: Getting hurt - That seems like a cliche little fear, but she really does have a deep fear. It's not as much emotional as physical. She's fragile and she knows it. She deals with hurt people every day and seems what they go through. She's extremely pain intolerant
PERSONALITY:
People pleaser - She likes to help people. No- she loves it. Feeling important and knowing she influenced someone positively is what she was practically made for. However, sometimes, it does get a little too far. Her kindness and the caving under the simple word 'please' can get her in trouble and taken advantage of. Plus, she's been told her little people pleasing habit is rather annoying. Just relax, they tell her. It's okay to say no. She's tried, but guilt has usually pushed her. In her mind, she always put herself on the other side. How badly she might have wanted something. She hoped they would say yes too.
Insecure - Addie has some quirks about her and some rather frowned upon habits (not being stronger, not being as brave, not getting the hints she probably should, so on). So she feels like she has to constantly watch herself. There are some habits of hers that annoy herself- blushing for one. She just can't hide the flush on her cheeks. Addie also feels like she looks so much younger than she is. Everyone treats her like a young child when she had been working in the field longer than them. Her face screams innocent and while she may be- she dislikes the assumption made from it. She attempts to dress a little 'older' but then everyone kind of sees her as a girl dressing up. It's made her very self-aware of her abilities.
Quiet - Not shy. No, that's not the right term for it. She finds theres not much she has to say- especially to strangers. She says what is necessary. There's usually not too much on her mind that she actually wants to say out loud or share. In fact, if anything, she's just more of a private person. Not everyone needs to know what goes on in her head as big or small as it may be. If she is asked her opinion, she'll give it. But unless asked, she'd keep to herself.
Cautious - And perhaps a little paranoid. She feels like a feather. Floating around lighter than air but so easily pushed and pulled. She also understands she's a little oblivious and naive sometimes, so it always makes her second guess herself. As many people scoff of at her, she also knows so far, it's worked. Her history of being hurt or injured was all in her childhood when she couldn't really help her circumstances. She's especially cautious on her magic considering she still feels new to the magical world.
Incredibly sweet - Sappy sweet. Caring for others, especially those closest to her. It's probably when she's at her most fierce. Though she is a lover, not a fighter. Kills with kindness. One of those types. However, she takes pride in being a caring person. She knows of some who do not have as fortunate time as she had.
Professional listener - There's something about her that gets people starting to spill. Perhaps if the fact she, herself, doesn't talk very much. It could be that nonjudgmental face she wears. Who knows. She finds herself listening to stories very often. Some enough to make her have to leave the room and others that she just nodded to. It's such an easy task to do, and Addie enjoys feeling important to others. Useful, though sometimes, it does make her feel a little more helpless. That sometimes she just can't help.
Dependent - Addie needs approval. She needs interaction. While sometimes solitude is asked, overall, she enjoys having people around. Being cared about. Being important. Especially the last one.
Patient - In her job, her patience has been tested. If she ever blew up, it would probably be more of a bunch of passionate yelling, but it hasn't broken to that point. Where she was that angry. Part of her job is to be patient. She could watch paint dry. There's always something that keeps her lid on and calm. Probably because there isn't a lot that offends her.

MOTHER: bethany brandt [wilson]
FATHER: tanner brandt
SIBLINGS: none
HISTORY:
You know that beautiful romance where everything is an adventure? Going to the grocery store is an exciting event. Giggling, laughing, and teasing all the time? Bethany and Tanner were exactly like that. Tanner was a good amount older than her, and she was young and beautiful, but she gave him the adventure and freedom she wanted and craved. It didn't take long for them to get married and try to make it on their own. They lived in a small little trailer, Tanner going in and out of jobs. Bethany always supported him, despite Tanner not being the mature man she needed. Tanner started drinking… up until the point Bethany announced her pregnancy. Suddenly, the roles switched. Tanner started to settle himself down, get a stable job, throw the bottle away. Bethany started becoming bitter, screaming how this baby was just a way to keep her down. Keep her trapped as a prisoner in their own household. She tried running away several times. At every failure, she would come back in a complete tantrum. Throwing plates. Glasses. There came a point where it was dangerous for the little girl- Adelaide Rose. So he left. It had to be over. Bethany was free like she wanted.
A single father struggled to raise a child on his own, but Adelaide grew to be more patient. There were some bad days- as no child is perfect- but generally, she was well behaved. She was practically raised by daycares and babysitters. But what other choice was there? She took care of her dad. In ways she didn't know. The small run to the door when he came home was everything. They grew up rough but survived. The day her life changed the fateful day a stranger appeared at her door. Told her about a place she could use her abilities and control them. Her father was shocked, considering Addie hadn't really been telling her daddy about the times she accidentally made it rain or accidentally threw something without laying a finger on it. With help, she was able to accept the invitation to attend Hogwarts.
She was easily fascinated with magic. Her eyes were huge and impressed for a good month or so. While magic continues to fascinate her, there was nothing quite like the very first month. It was harder for her to make friends at first. Her mind was so busy with her surrounds, she seemed like a daydreamer. However, she gained most of her close friends over time. She tried to focus on her studies, although she spent much more time on the subjects she found most appealing - specifically potions. To think by a few simple ingredients, she could make anything. Some dangerous, but every potion master knew how to counteract the potions, right? She missed her father and wrote continuous long letters back to him. Writing. She loved it just about as much as she loved to paint. While she was in Hogwarts, she didn't paint very much. Seemed silly to do something like that by hand in the magical world.
Addie, despite what most must have thought, actually dated often. Lots of little dates after she found herself accidentally flirting (apparently giggling and blushing meant she was flirting), but none that lasted a long time. Most still friends afterwards considering the span of time. She kept her social life and academic life in check. Making sure one wasn't more than the other. She did decently on her O.W.L's, but probably not as high as she would have hoped. She found herself being the average witch around the school. Nothing very grand and exciting. This bothered her. She wanted to feel important. Have a trait that put her above the rest. No more second place. The only category she found herself excelling in was her incredible impulse to help everyone. Didn't matter what age or house- she would always say yes to favors, requests, and pleas. It had gotten her in trouble a couple of times, but it had left mostly ever so grateful individuals. So it wasn't a compete shocker when she graduated and automatically went to St. Mungos. She started at the bottom training level, like anyone. Her original plan was to become a healer, but she found she could expand more as a nurse (work in more fields while doing relatively the same job). Plus, her patience was found to be the highest of qualities.
