HISTORY: Born in Edinburgh, Scotland alongside his twin, Melfina, Matt was very adventurous as a toddler after a seemingly quiet time as a newborn. A small scar on his right thumb came from his toddler years when he bumped a table, causing a vase to crash onto his hand and slice his thumb. His sole reaction to that incident was laughter, much to the surprise of his parents. At the age of four, tragedy struck the Johanson household as a pair of dark wizards attacked the Johanson household, killing Matt's mother and kidnapping his sister. The incident traumatized Matt enough to where he was no longer adventurous and was more shy and silent. This incident also made it hard for him to talk to his father as his father became reclusive and bent on revenge.
The years leading up to Hogwarts were spent by Matt in his room usually, being too shy to befriend any of the kids in his neighborhood. He would occasionally leave the house, but would tend to just wander around on his own, not really talking to anyone. He obtained his fear of spiders at this time after being chased by quite a few during one such trip.
At the age of eleven, Matt received his letter of acceptance into Hogwarts, an occasion that his father hoped would help Matt to return to his previous adventurous attitude while also allowing his father to hunt for clues about Melfina. Matt's first year saw him study hard, but refuse to make any friends, feeling that none could understand his past. His second year was much the same, save for a few brave souls convincing him to join a couple of the clubs, though he didn't stay long. Year three saw him start to talk to more people, albeit not very much. Now in his fourth year, Matt has some hope that maybe he can put his shyness behind him, but he isn't going to fully commit to anything beyond what he's seen.
