Ren was spending this cold summer day in her room on the top level of the Foster Home. She had her window open for the light breeze to keep fresh air in her room while her door was shut. She had her guitar in her arms and strumming lightly singing a slow song out of her short list of favorite songs, Let Her Go, by The Passenger. It was just after lunch, and she assumed that Noel would be home from his date soon, but she continued playing and singing. It had been a while since Noel and Ren sang together, maybe this would change if she just continued till he got home. She stayed hopeful, and her thoughts continued to flourish about school and her brother and friends and the like.
She had spent most of the year in her books and with friends, she honestly forgot how spending time with Noel felt, except that she knew she missed it. He had been spending a lot of time with Dean and he was out of school, so it wasn't like she had a lot of opportunity for things like that.

Noel smiled and kissed Dean before opening the door and heading inside. Dean had to get home, so Noel headed into the living room. He heard music upstairs, and smiled. Renee was getting much better with her guitar, he noted as he headed up the stairs. It was a week now since he and Dean returned from Italy and a week after they got engaged. Noel could still remember his mother's face when he told her about it and was still convinced she cracked something from hugging him. Noel could definitely feel a bit of a rift in his relationship with his sister lately. They were close, but she had her own friends, and her own life. Plus she didn't really get along with Dean, who was Noel's main priority lately. Noel was definitely a bit of a black sheep with his father's family; they barely talked nowadays, so Noel stuck to his mum, sisters, brother, Dean and his friends. He still had people, but it wasn't the same as spending time with Renee. As much as they butted heads, he missed her. As much as their separation was 75% his fault because of Dean, he still missed her. He stood in the doorway near Renee's room, listening to her play. Noel really was extremely impressed with how talented his sister was. He listened for a few more moments. "Sounds great, Renee," he said softly, not wanting to startle her. They had both learned to play the guitar as children and used to play the instrument together all the time. He wasn't sure what happened, but he hoped that he and Renee could still be as close as they used to be. RENEE CORRINE FOSTER

"And you let him go." She finished out the song and smiled to the open window. The trees were lightly shaking from the wind and she was content. She could sit there all day and not do a thing but sing and strum. She heard a voice through her door. "N...Noel?" her voice cracked and was almost somber. She hadn't heard his voice in weeks. With the vacation and engagement, she hadn't had her brother lately. Of course, her and Dean had their spats so she tried to avoid him. Thus making it almost impossible not to avoid Noel. "Th-thanks.. You can open the door, I'm not naked or anything." she chuckled slightly. Her full name struck her odd. It had been so long since anyone but her parents didn't call her Ren. Coming from Noel's mouth, it didn't seem all that weird.
She shrugged that off and laid down her guitar as he walked into her room. "So.. How's Dean?" she said with slight sarcasm. She knew it couldn't be helped, but neither could her bitterness. She wasn't all that happy to be pushed aside for Dean, but she tried her best to understand. "H-how are you.." she scrunched her lips to one side and crossed her fingers in front of her. She was slightly nervous. She remembered her last conversation with him. It wasn't a fight, but it wasn't a happy one. Something about Dean and the possibility of engagement--Dad was brought into it.. It just made this conversation all the more awkward.
She missed him. She really did. Of course, she would find it somewhere inside to put up and be nice to Dean in order to save their relationship. It was more than the blood thing though, maybe when she looked at them she saw perfect love, but her not knowing Dean well enough and thinking what she thought about him really afflicted her.

Noel smiled as he came in. "Well I'd hope not," he said lightly as he sat next to her. It was easy for the two to sit together. Renee was welcome to stay in Noel's room and he was welcome in hers. It'd been that way for a long time, and hopefully hadn't changed. Noel sensed the sarcasm when Ren asked about Dean but shrugged it off. He was aware of how she felt about his fiancé, though he didn't know if it was completely her or their father speaking at times. "He's doing good. He's spending some time with his family for now since we just got back, so we're taking a bit of time from each other for a while." Renee asked how he was, and Noel sighed. "Honestly? I miss you a lot." Noel always tried to make time for both Renee and Dean equally, but he knew Renee had her own life to live, and he didn't want to be the only person she hung out with. It couldn't have been fun for her to just spend all her time with her big brother. Still, for a long time before Hogwarts it had been solely the two of them, so the adjustment to letting other people in wasn't easy. "Feels like we never talk anymore, doesn't it Ren?" he asked, feeling guilty about all but pushing his sister aside. Especially now that he was out of school, he felt like he needed to fix his friendship with his sister before anything else happened between him and Dean. RENEE CORRINE FOSTER

She laughed slightly, "Which is why you went to lunch with him, today, right?" She was fussy about hypocrites. Though, she understood. Taking a break from that can't be no communication at all. She was slightly bitter though, cause by jealousy. She couldn't understand why He was so important now. She understands his importance to Noel, but it just seemed like he was making a point to prove how important Dean was. She felt pushed aside, but she couldn't let that bother her. "Sorry..." she didn't want to be this person to Noel, "I just, feel kind of left behind... Abandoned." maybe she was being a bit dramatic, but it's true.
His next words felt like ice. She had just went off at him, kind of. And behold, he was aware what was going on. She felt bad and pulled her legs into crossed on her bed. She turned toward him, "It really has.." She looked down, a small tear hit her thigh, "I would ask you what happened... But I know.." she felt guilty. She was such a bitch about the whole thing when she actually met and learned about Dean, that she started to push him away. Of course, it was unintentional, she was just avidly remarking herself to keep away from Dean. Therein lied her problem. Noel loved Dean, and she had to come to terms with that. "I've been such a horrible sister..." a few more tears hit her calf and forearm.
She didn't know where else she could go to pull out a response. She put the back of one hand to her eyes and clenched her eyes shut. She didn't know she was capable of balling, and she was doing everything she could to prevent a flood of tears. It was Noel... She had pushed him away so far that it hurt to even talk to him anymore. She felt so guilty.

Noel immediately hugged Renee after seeing her start to cry. He hated seeing his little sister sad, especially when he felt responsible for her sadness. "Shhhh," he said, speaking to her the same way he had when she first came to Hogwarts and he comforted her when she felt nervous. "I think we've both been a bit dumb here, haven't we?" he asked gently. Noel knew Renee didn't mean everything she said, and neither did he. Renee was one of the few people he truly cared for.
"It's okay, Renee. I forgive you love, okay?" he said softly. "You know you're as important to me as Dean is, right? More in fact. You're my best girl, remember?" he said, trying to comfort her as much as he could, even though he was starting to cry himself. "You come first, no matter what, remember?"

As he leaned in to hug her, her body became tense for a brief second. She wasn't used to his firm holds anymore. Once she regained comfort in her brothers arms, she put her face into his shoulder and her arms around his back, under his arms. Her tears streamed his shirt, which she felt bad for, but she couldn't help it. It felt like a war was ending between the two, and they could finally move on from this. Though, she knew it wouldn't be that simple, she knew she owed and apology to both Noel and Dean. For now, she would just allow her brother to comfort her. She missed him, and this wasn't exactly how she thought a conversation between the two would go, but she was happy on the inside.
She didn't know what to say at all, so she let him hold her. She needed this. "I'm so sorry." she said through tears and sobs. She was crying harder, still, as the two reconnected. She knew what she had to do. She had to go to Dean and show admittance of acceptance. For her sake, for Noel's sake, and for the relationship between the three of them. She wanted it to be a good one, and if Dean being a Muggleborn and Renee pushing him out of her life meant that Noel would be pushed out too, she would have to deal with the crap in her head and come to terms with it. She'd have to befriend Dean, or at least put up with him. Tolerance was a thing of ease for her, so she knew she could do it. If that actually led to friendship with Dean, rather than a forced one, she'd be okay with that.

Noel hugged Renee tighter, "I'm sorry too," he said, not minding that she was getting his shirt wet. He didn't know at first why he was even apologizing, then he remembered all the times he and Dean would leave on their own dates or how they'd spend their free time together without her and he got it. Noel knew the only reason Renee had started disliking Dean was because he was a muggleborn, but it was also because he and Noel probably left her out as well. "We have some free time before Mum and Dad get home, want me to get my guitar and we can practice a bit?" He asked. They had not played music together for quite a long time, and it used to be their hobby when they were bored since they didn't go to regular school. Plus he was hoping before he became too busy with work and his fiancé that he and his sister could be kids for a while longer. RENEE CORRINE FOSTER

Her grip stayed the same and as her brother apologized, she felt something change. She hadn't gotten anywhere with him lately. This was a turning point, and she was so happy he was there. As the hug came to an end, she wiper her tears and looked at her brother, "NoelyNoel.." She didn't say that as she normally said it-giddy and happy. She had more of a sobbed sound, "I'll try harder... I promise.." Call it infantile, but she loved calling him that. Maybe someday she would out grow using that nickname for him, but it wouldn't be today.
When he offered to grab his guitar, her entire facial emotion transformed. Her eyes were still red from crying, but she had a smile on her face and happiness pouring through her expression. She hugged him again, "Yes! Yes!" It was a quick hug, and she basically bounced off the bed.
