HISTORY: Jacques Henri Dupont was named both after his mother's father, Jacques Sauvignon, and his father's middle name, Henri. Jacques was born on a February 25th 2006. It was quite a chilly evening in England, but the chills were ignored as the excitement was too much to bare. The Duponts' welcomed a second child into their home, and this child was another son. Jacques, taking both a name from his grandfather and his father, was instantly loved among his family. Including his older brother, despite the fact his older brother was only three. It seemed the family were all happy to see new additions.
At the age of 4, Jacques started showing signs of magic. When it was bath time, a time he really didn't like, he would magically turn all the spouts off. It took a lot of work, but Jacqueline finally got Jacques to leave the water alone. Then, as she tried to put him in he levitated himself out of the tub. Further preventing her from putting him in. It took even more work to finally get him to take his bath. Even at such a young age, he showed how smart he was. It wasn't long until he was 6, and learning words. Mostly reading smaller books, and those had lots of pictures. It wasn't until he turned 8 that he read a book without any pictures. Albeit it was only a few chapters, it was a great accomplishment.
As Jacques was nearing the age of nine, his mother found out that she was pregnant with twins. It was four months in before they discovered that the twins would be female. After his birthday, Jacques was excited to receive his Hogwarts letter. His elder brother had already been attending for a couple of years, and had heard so many wonderful things. Jacques was more than excited to start, and couldn't wait to get his own wand.
When he finally received his letter, and it was a few months after his 11th birthday. With excitement in the air, they quickly gathered some Galleons for their trip to Diagon Alley. At this time, Henri wasn't able to attend with his family. Though As Hogwarts was currently out for summer break, Jacqueline had the help of her eldest son to aid her in taking care of the twins. It was as dreamy an event as Jacques had hoped for, as his sisters' wouldn't stop screaming the entire time. He tried his best to block it out, and made the best out of the trip.
After his books, and things were bought the family headed toward Ollivander's. On their way, they passed the Quidditch Supplies Shop. It took a lot of prying for Jacqueline to pull Jacques from the windows. He begged, and pleaded for them to get him something. As it was forbidden for his first year, Jacques had to continue on. Though it wasn't a total loss as they neared Ollivander's. It took five tries before the correct wand was chosen, and the shop had nearly been destroyed. Jacqueline, no doubt, felt sorry for the poor sap who had to clean it up.
When they returned home, things had already taken for the worst. As they had traveled back to their home, down an alley Jacques spotted what looked like his father. Not listening to his mother, he tore away from her to see who the man was. Quickly, he approached the man to discover it was definitely his father. Though the scene that played out in front of him haunted him for all eternity. His father, being an Auror, was trying to capture a man who had been in trouble before. The man used the Killing curse, and Jacques watched the light leave his father's eyes.
Being only 11 at the time, it was difficult to say how it would effect him. The man that had killed him was never caught, and the man's face still haunts Jacques. The sickening grin that he wield as he wiggled his fingers at Jacques before apparating away. Jacques was too stunned to move, and it took a lot of force for him to leave his father's side.
The years that passed were difficult to foresee. No one knew whether Jacques would ever get past the event, but once at Hogwarts he learned that doing his work kept him busy. He tried his best to busy himself with anything he possibly could, which included exploring the castle. In his fourth year, Jacques had a slight tussle with the Whomping Willow. It was totally an accident, as he was chasing a piece of parchment that had escaped his grasp. As he chased after it, the Willow must have felt threatened by the innocent boy. He was beaten pretty badly, but not enough to scare him from the tree. He understood the mistake, and knew he should have just redone his Charms homework. Never again would he make the mistake of chasing something that isn't worth dying for.
Being in his sixth year, Jacques knows of all the possibilities. He's still quite uncertain about what he wants to do with his life, but he plans to continue searching for an occupation that he dreams of.
