Sage was a lucky young man, well in so many words. He wasn't from the United Kingdom and Australian blood ran thick through him. Sage's parents family's had come from long lines in the Netherlands and England, the latter being his mother's side and the former his father's side. He'd met distant relatives to his mother's family since living in London but there was something he always longed for when in Britain. He missed his native Australia. He missed surfing on the ocean. He missed the dangers of some of the creatures that lived in one's backyard. This winter his father had to go back to the Australian Ministry to make some reports finalized and Sage got to spend the holiday in his childhood home. The entire holiday was spent on the water, or at least that was what it felt like. He saw old friends and spent time doing things with them, but one thing that made this especially amazing, was while the people he knew in the UK would be spending their holidays indoors, Sage was outside enjoying the summer in Australia. He was enjoying getting a fresh tan, maybe a little sunburn, and he was enjoying pigging out on all he could.
Sage had come back to the UK a very happy young man. Also he came back very cold. The temperature was so very different. Now was a time to spend getting back used to the world that he'd come to call home. He spent most of the week before back to school warming up inside their home and attending a few dinners with his father. But today was his day. Lena, Sage's mother, was going to take him to Diagon Alley. They would pick up some money for him from Gringotts before doing a little shopping for whatever he wanted. But nothing in that place would fill the void of not being back out on that water. He was a water baby after all.
When they arrived in Diagon Alley first things were first, Gringotts. They went down to their vault and pulled out a bit of money for Sage to spend on whatever he would like. That was when Lena would go off to do her own shopping. Sage was off first to the bookshop, Flourish and Blotts. The place was amazing. And this was the perfect time to read a book for enjoyment. The young man honestly did enjoy reading, but socializing was more important. He also needed to remember to later run over to the Menagerie to pick up Nutmeg some food.
Now Sage scanned each bookshelf looking at titles that sounded interesting. Honestly one of his favorite books was a muggle title that he'd picked up from a friend. It was the muggle version of Merlin, the great wizard. A very interesting book that was a fable to most muggles but near factual for wizards. Oh how the world has moved on in time. Still Sage enjoyed it from the muggle's take. It just made for entertainment. But there'd been other books that he'd come to enjoy. Ones that were similar to the Merlin tale. Those that took place in the medieval times. There was such a long list of titles.
