They were known as one of the most pureblooded wizarding families in western Europe, until Lucas Hawthorne decided to marry a very devout Christian muggle from London by the name of Marie. Together, they were happily married and had a daughter, Lyla. Up until Lyla was four, the three of them lived a happy, quiet life, until Lyla began exhibiting unusual behaviors. The lights would flicker whenever she threw a tantrum (she was a very hot-headed child), or whenever another child in elementary school would bully her for her small size, odd things would happen. For example, one of the children managed to find themselves on top of the roof of the library where there was no roof access. Lucas immediately knew that Lyla was a witch, but tried to keep it a secret from Marie for the sake of their marriage. There was no hiding it when Lyla managed to get into an argument with Marie over Lyla's curiosity and thirst for knowledge ("You need not to go through your Sunday school teacher's purse! You are acting like a brown-nosing brat!") when she was eight and turned the end of her mother's nose brown for an hour. Marie finally caught on that Lyla was not an ordinary girl and confront Lucas about it, insisting on a special session with the church. Lucas admitted what he was a wizard, and their daughter did not need an exorcism because she was a witch. Immediately, they divorced and Lucas took Lyla to live with his side of the family, the Hawthornes. Lucas and Lyla were treated differently than the rest because of their involvement with "Marie the Muggle" and how Lucas brought his daughter up. The Hawthornes taught little Lyla about the wizarding world (she loved Quidditch immediately). However, Lyla was torn up about the divorce and missed her mother terribly. She was also enraged with Lucas for marrying another woman when she was nine, whom he had a set of twins with. Of course, she didn't show that to the rest of her family, because even though she was young, she knew that showing weakness would not help her gain any respect and finally stop being treated like an outsider by them. Hiding her emotions as a child toughened her skin but also fuelled her temper (something she already inherited from her Veela heritage) and disregard for people's feelings. She received her Hogwarts letter when she was eleven and went off to Hogwarts happily where she was sorted into Ravenclaw, a shock to the Hawthornes ("No one has been sorted into Ravenclaw since great aunt Helen and Merlin, the woman is a lunatic!") but it was no surprise to Lucas, who know that his daughter has an insatiable thirst for knowledge and had always been advanced in her studies. In school, Lyla showed dedication and responsibility for her school work and was recognized as one of the brightest witches in her year (as well as one of the more... turbulent ones). She did not have many friends in her first three years because she had a very odd and blunt way of talking to people, often without a filter thus hurting feelings. However, she got better at her social skills and her wording, and discovered her talent on the Quidditch field. Despite being a slender and short girl, her strong feelings and temper fuelled her in her position as a Ravenclaw beater. After her fifth year of Hogwarts, where she made impressive marks and was ruthless on the Quidditch pitch, the Hawthornes finally lightened up on her and tried including her in their extravagant galas and their parties, along with their riches. Lyla went along with it, not because she was happy to be accepted by them, but because there was no sense in ruining their relations when she knew she could possibly use them in the future. During her final year at Hogwarts, she faced a fork in the road- she could either become an Auror because of her excellent talent in DADA and Potions, or she could become a professional Quidditch player for her remarkable beater abilities. She opted for the latter. She graduated from Hogwarts with a contract with the Ballycastle Bats as a beater, and to her family's (and ultimately, everyone who knew her's) surprise, a soon-to-be husband, Archer Abner. They were married almost as soon as they were graduated. Soon, though, the two decided that their marriage could potentially ruin a great friendship and they annulled it. The Hawthornes were not pleased about this. They sought for Lyla to be married to a fitting family and often tried to set up dates whenever she was home from touring with the team, but Lyla resisted. This caused tensions between the Hawthornes and Lyla, especially between her and her father because he refused to stand by her on her decisions. The relations between her family and her at first gave her even more strength and focus on the Quidditch pitch, helping her soon rise to fame in the league. However, these tensions also influenced some reckless behavior on Lyla's part. She began getting in trouble with the league for some minor rule breaking at first, but she got herself kicked off the league entirely when she stole her teammates bat and swatted both bludgers towards a referee who made a call against her team. He was hospitalized in St. Mungos for a few days, but the league did not charge Lyla due to her sneakily and wittingly talking herself out of it (and because of her last name). Then is when she decided to go travel the other path she was presented years ago when she was graduating Hogwarts: to become an auror. hey guys, my name is TIGER! and I am rocking it at EIGHTEEN years old, role-playing for roughly EIGHT years - so i'm pretty chill with anything. i'm in the EST time zone, and hail from AMURICA so how about that! currently my character looks just like CARA DELEVINGNE or so i am told!
