MOTHER: Fleur Weasley, nee DeLacour
FATHER: William Weasley
SIBLINGS: Dominique and Louis Weasley.
HISTORY:
First born to Fleur and Bill Weasley on May 2, Victoire is an eighth Veela, which is easily traced through her mother, a quarter-veela, down the DeLacour family line’s females. Born as she was about a year after victory over the Dark Lord, the name of ‘victory’ in French must’ve seemed like a good idea at the time. She was also named after her Aunt Gabrielle. The oldest of the Weasley-Potter children born after the war, Victoire got to spend quite a lot of time at the Weasleys’ before it was time for her to go to school, including the days when her sister Dominique and brother Louis were born. At that age, she already showed the innate kindness that would make her a Hufflepuff once she was at Hogwarts, which mostly translated into her helping around, sometimes unintentionally resulting into the girl being under everyone’s feet, which wasn’t that hard to do. During that same time, her love of cooking in general and baking in particular, as well as outdoors, grew along with her, though she never found much interest in Quidditch. Sure, she’d play a game or two with her family, and knew the basic mechanics of flying, which wasn’t hard to do with a large majority of the family being obsessed with Quidditch, or so it seemed, but she preferred to keep her feet firmly on the ground.
Ted Lupin always played a part as large in Victoire’s life as do her parents, siblings and numerous members of her extended family. A godson of her Uncle Harry’s, Teddy spent just as much time at the Weasleys’ as she did, from just as early an age. As they ended up spending more time together than was probably healthy, the pair had eventually become best friends, immediately adapting to the same routine in Hogwarts despite different Houses. Over the years, as they found out their magical strengths and weaknesses, the two of them had also grown closer, though for Victoire that meant putting elbows into butter dishes and general clumsiness once she realized just how close they were getting. Of course, by the time that Teddy ‘officially’ asked her out, the clumsiness diminished drastically, helped along by the fact that this was one of her best friends, who had grown to something more. Being caught by one of her cousins on a train station kissing wasn’t helping the matters much, though, neither were the knowing grins given her once she joined them in the compartment. Much to her amusement and dismay, her relationship with Teddy only grew throughout her seventh year, having the usual ups and downs that most of her fellow teens went through. Letters and holiday visits helped, though they both were fairly busy over the holidays.
She herself ended up often helping her Uncle George in the shop on Diagon Alley, until she decided that the atmosphere was too hazardous for her health if not her looks, and looked toward Flourish and Blotts for more peaceful cashier work as she graduated and was uncertain which way to go after school despite her fairly decent NEWTs. Working in a bookstore was, perhaps, not quite the glamorous life expected from a Weasley, but Victoire found it suited her just fine, as the summer turned into a year, and a year turned into longer than that. Comfortable in her spot, she slowly but steadily worked up the chain of power, until about half a year ago from now, she ended up buying Flourish and Blotts. Half a year before she became the shop owner, on December 23, Teddy asked her to marry him, and they had been engaged since then, the knowledge of such for the moment successfully limited to Victoire’s parents and siblings and Teddy’s Godfather Harry Potter and Grandmother Andromeda Tonks. As it is, though, secrets in the large Weasley-Potter family don’t remain so for long, and it’s only a matter of time before it would be out in the open.
