HISTORY:
We all knew what happened to Draco up til the end of the second wizarding war, the whole getting the dark mark, becoming a death eater, learning his special abilities and all the rest. During the end of the second wizarding war, Draco saw the error in his ways as the Malfoys made a last minute switch in allegiance, an act that stopped the family from going to Azkaban. Over that summer, Draco contemplated about his life, wondered what his future would hold and he eventually decided to go back to Hogwarts and complete his NEWTs. Not because he was forced to, nor because he wanted good grades but because he wanted to be a better person. He wanted t prove that they had changed even though they still held tight to some of their pureblood ways.
Draco passed his final year with exceptional grades. Although not as brilliant as Hermione Granger, Draco was quite proud of himself. It was after graduation that Draco had his next life decision, what did you wish to do after school? Sure he had no reason to work or 'get his hands dirty' but the young Malfoy done what other people least expected him to do, he entered the ministry, getting a job as an unspeakable. Away from his father, whom was still having a hard time adjusting to their new ways of life, Draco thrived in the department of mysteries, loved it even. Not being able to speak about his job in details was something Draco was used to. Though this time, lying was part of the job. Whenever he was not at work, he was at home attempting to get sleep. The second wizarding war gave him nightmares and although he had a year to get over it, the images of the dead kept replaying throughout his mind. He refused to seek help, Malfoys never asked for help and so he suffered in silence, making excuses that work was hectic whenever he was asked about the dark circles under his eyes.
Years passed on and he had still yet to find a wife. His parents began interfering, hosting parties just for him. It was during one of these parties that he met Astoria Greengrass, the younger sister of one of his former classmates. They hit it off quickly, though Draco took his time making her his wife. It was a couple of years afterwards that he finally proposed to Astoria. He was married soon after as his mother, Astoria's mother, Astoria's sister and Astoria herself planned the wedding. Draco had next to no input as work kept him busy.
It wasn't long after that Draco and Astoria had their first and only child, Scorpius. Draco only wanted a male heir and that was what he got. Whether Astoria wanted more children or not, he didnt not. He doted on his son, taught him the value of being a pureblood however didn't preach on about blood supremacy. He had long dropped his arrogant attitude towards those that were not pure and in fact was civil to them as he worked with them.
As Scorpius grew, Draco threw himself more and more into work, often bringing home gifts for his son. His relationship become tense between Astoria and himself and it was his fault. So when the position of senior undersecretary came up, Draco applied for it, hoping it would allow for him to have more time at home to rebuild his relationship with his wife. He got the job and he soon mended the relationship he had with Astoria, believing that they were more happier than before.
Three years ago, the Minister Of Magic stepped down from the job, leaving the position wide open. It was later announced that the previous Minister had already put forth a candidate. That candidate was Draco, although he had no idea at the time. He did not expect to be promoted to the job, after all who would want an ex death eater as the minister. To say he was shocked and surprised when he was given the job was an understatement. So for three years now Draco has been the most powerful wizard in Britain and although stressful, he makes more time for his son and wife. To this day he still has nightmares about the second wizarding war and has the constant reminder of what he had been upon his left arm in the form of the faded dark mark.
