Flirty, Witty, Creative, Introverted, Secretive
Aria is flirty, witty, and tends to care more for others than herself at times, especially when it comes to those she calls her friends. She tends to put up masks when she's upset or worried, she knows that eventually the problems will catch up to her, but in the meantime she tries to get the most out of life. Her temper can get the best of her, though she tries her hardest to keep a sense of control over her emotions.
She’s the type of girl that sees knowledge as powers, so she keeps it to herself most of the time, unless it is specific information that needs to be shared. She doesn’t let secrets out without a good reason for it. She comes up with different ways to solve problems that can be both useful and more creative than any regular person.

MOTHER: Susan Mathis
FATHER: Hank Mathis
SIBLINGS: none
HISTORY:
Aria was raised by her father, Hank Mathis, after her mother left when Aria was still an infant. While Hank tried his hardest and loved his daughter dearly, he was not always the best at showing this to her. Afraid of losing his only remaining family, Hank became overly protective of his little girl.
The situation was further complicated by the financial instability the pair faced. Her father worked three jobs, trying to provide what he felt was most important to her, money. What he never realized was that she really just wanted his attention. In an effort to protect her while he was busy, Hank asked a buddy of his to watch over Aria in the evenings while he worked.
It all started out innocently enough, “Uncle” Frank would come over and make sure that Aria had dinner and got to bed, but it wasn’t long before Frank's attentions changed. It started with looks that made her feel uncomfortable, then his once comforting pats on the back turned into lingering caresses, until the night when he tried to force himself on her. She never told her dad why “Uncle” Frank refused to come around Hank's freaky daughter anymore. It was a long time before Aria could admit to herself that Frank got a taste of what happens when you mess with a witch.
With Frank out of the picture and refusing to even talk to his one time friend, Hank took out his frustrations on Aria. Though he was never physically abusive, their relationship suffered at his hurtful words. It was a blessing when she received her letter from Hogwarts, she saw it as a way to get relief from her father, while he saw this as getting rid of the burden of seeing her, the daughter who reminded him of his wife.
It was a bit of a surprise when she was sorted into Ravenclaw as she had never seen herself as the brainy sort, but she liked knowledge and the power it can bring. Aria wasn’t going to complain, any house she was sorted into had to be better than her actual home. Aria has come to find acceptance and friendship from the students and faculty at the school. She loves to write and typically has a journal on her wherever she goes. She has found that learning new magic seems to come naturally to her, but there’s something about History of Magic that she finds enthralling.
Aria can be a bit of a rule follower, if only to save herself from having attention drawn to her, she prefers to blend into the crowd rather than stand out. Though she has been known to branch out in order to help others or if no one else is around. Due in large part to her introverted nature and innate distrust, Aria has a difficult time developing a deep connection with anyone. She has lots of friends, but none that really and truly know her. The same can be said about boys, she is fine as friends, but anything more than that…she’s not sure she’s ready for that yet, besides, if they want what “Uncle” Frank wanted…
