MOTHER: Katie Bell, Shop assistant in Diagon alley
FATHER: Andrew Kirke, 40, Beater on the Ireland quidditch team
SIBLINGS: Kellan Kirke, Deceased
HISTORY: On the 28th of February, a set of twins was born to Andrew and Katie Kirke. There was only one problem with this set of twins, one was perfect in health and the other suffered from a rare heart condition. Katie spent 3 months in the hospital with her ill child, one day the suffering ended for the child, but the family would always suffer from traumatic moments in dealing with the loss of the second baby. Years had pasted by slowly. For Orion growing up was a bit of a struggle, due to his mother taking a huge leave at work to cope with the loss of a baby and his father never home due to his quidditch profession, Orion learned to be quite independent at a young age. He wasn't the best at cooking but he tried, soon learning to make peanut butter sandwiches and anything that wasn't too hard to manage for a 7 year old. In his free time he would spend hours drawing, becoming quite good at it. Orion always tried to draw pictures to make his mother smile but none seemed to work. The small boy didn't give up, he wouldn't let his mother wither away in bed, crying over something he couldn't comprehend. His mother's unsatisfied reaction to his art didn't effect him, at school he saw how the other parents were so proud of their children for the creations they made but with him nothing.
After a couple more years his father took a break off work seeing his only son was growing up too fast, and somewhat neglected. Orion didn't seem to be too traumatized but it was time for he and his mother to see a doctor and get back to health. Seeing a child psychiatrist Orion was soon given attention, he grew talkative and his feeling rapidly changed from being quite and shy to being talkative not to mention hyperactive. The small boy enjoyed sharing his drawing with his doctor and father. After a couple years of dealing with therapy, he decided to draw a picture for his mothers birthday. It was that day, the she smiled at his drawing and spoke of how proud she was, the depression had been lifted just in time for him to be getting his Hogwarts letter.
When in Diagon alley Katie had seemed to find herself a job being a shop assistant and once all his supplies were gathered he saw sent off on the Hogwarts express. Upon arrival at the castle he knew he was in store for something great. Placed in the Gryffindor house he followed in the steps of both his parents. His first couple years went by smoothly, he learned to make friends quickly. His favorite class was charms, he was fond of his professor and they got along quite well.
In his fourth year the boy had an encounter with a sixth year, Slytherin student whom spoke of his mother wrongly. Getting deep into Orion's head, the boy spoke of his mother's depression and why she had been that way. Orion never knew the reasons behind his mother illness, but it must have been talked about amongst adults and this boy must have over heard. Orion took at as simple teasing, but after a while he found himself irritated. It ended with a punch and a month of detention but when he got home that following break he was in for heart breaking news. Orion was taught when curious about something you should ask questions and when he did so he was not expecting to hear he was once a twin.
The news got to him and from that year on every February through March he had his own periods of separation and depression. His fifth year at Hogwarts during his depression phase he spent most of his time in the library. The same boy who hassled him the previous year wanted to know why he was acting this way. Using the Legilimency ability on him, the feeling of his mind being violated was just out right wrong to him, he would learn a way to not have to endure that feeling ever again. Orion didn't have anyone he could just be open with on his topic so he told his favorite professor about what had happened. The whole story about his late twin and how the boy used Legilimency on his mind. Asking his professor about a counter ability he was told about Occlumency and Legilimency. It was nice to know what had happened to him, and he would spend his days learning the ability of Occlumency.
Orion is now in his 6th year at Hogwarts trying to make friends and living life for the moment. He has many goals set high for himself to accomplish before graduating. After graduation he struggles in know exactly what he wants to do, but with help it will become clear to him eventually. It's not like he is rushing to get older.
