passive * Accepting or allowing what happens or what others do, without active response or resistance. Syn: submissive. Declan has always had an issue with being the submissive one in the family. According to both of his parents, Declan was the sweet child, the one who would always listen and the one who hardly did anything wrong. This has gotten him into trouble, more than once, especially with his fellow classmates.
timid * Showing a lack of courage or confidence; easily frightened. Syn: apprehensive. Declan always had an issue with his self esteem. Ever since his first year at Hogwarts, Declan thought himself as ugly and insignificant. He has had his fair share of girlfriends, but those relationships don't last long due to his self confidence and shyness.

WHY DIDN'T YOU PROTECT US?;;
On a cool summer's eve, Cormac and Morag gave birth to their first born. A son, a legacy was born with Declan. As the prideful parents watched their bundle of joy, Declan cooed at them happily. In his primitive years, the young boy could have been deescribed as joyful, eccentric and humorous. He was well liked by the neighborhood kids and made friends easily back then. When Declan had turned one and a half, his little sister Maeve was born. The boy couldn't have been more excited to become an older brother.
As brother and sister grew older, their parents grew more and more fond of working, rather than taking care of their babies. Declan and Maeve often spent their time in the company of their much, much older cousins Bethany and Isaiah. At first, the children and their temporary guardian s got along splendid, nothing out of the norm. They would spend their days playing games, learning words and colors and would often have alone time with each of their cousins.
Declan and Maeve's parents never would have suspected a thing. When the two were six and four, Bethany and Isaiah began doing inappropriate things with the two siblings. From touching to being touched, this behavior went on for a number of years. Being as young as these two were and having gone through such a travesty, this has brought the siblings closer together in an almost incestual kind of way. For years and years the McLaggen children never dared to tell their parents about what had been going on. It wasn't until Declan was in his third year that everything was brought to light.
As the trauma and trials progressed, Declan became more reserved and kept close to his baby sister. Almost too close.
DEAREST MAEVE;;
Maeve was born on year and a half after Declan. Having gone through their trauma together, Declan and Maeve are as close as siblings could be. There have been rumors running around Hogwarts that they have a secret infatuation with one another, that they are "involved". Of course these rumors are untrue. Declan and his sister have a certain bond that no one could possibly understand.
Maeve is the only person who truly understands him and what he may be feeling. That bond between the two has certainly come between Declan and his girlfriends and vice versa. Declan loves his sister dearly and would do absolutely anything for her. He is sure she would do the same.
It is now and has always been Declan's duty to protect his baby sister. This has cost her a few friendships and certainly a few relationships alike. He just can't control this urge to protect at times.
DEAR HOGWARTS;;
Declan's Hogwarts career began at the tender age of eleven. As a bright young boy, set out for an adventurous time he was soon sorted into Ravenclaw house. Yuck, he thought. Declan wanted to be sorted into Gryffindor house just like his father. According do the sorting hat, Declan was best suited for Ravenclaw. With the intellect and reserved nature that he possessed the hat found that this is where he belonged. Of course, Declan was a little upset about the whole affair but soon put it behind him.
The years passed and Declan kept to himself and his sister for the most part. He was well known around school for being mysterious and then relationship he had with his sister. He had tried out For many school clubs and even the Quidditch team, all to no avail.
Now in his seventh year, Declan is more concerned about finishing the school year on a high note to pave the way for Maeve.
HOPES AND DREAMS AFTER HOGWARTS;;
Declan has always dreamed of working for the Minister of Magic. Whether it be as one of his minions or within one of the many departments the Ministry has to offer. The field he wishes to specialize in is Vampire extermination.
