five traits
prideful The McLaggen has never been an influential family. You are not a Malfoy, a Potter or a Weasley. You are just nobody in this wide world. But a nobody has the pride of a nobody. You have always kept your head high even when all of your self-esteem has been mercilessly trampled. You would not refuse to do anything if it means making your name known and respected. You look at people with half an eye, and listen to them with half an ear, as if they were worth nothing. You never feel sorry, or regret doing what you have done; because it is the only way people would not find you pathetic.
aggressive You are a lioness. An unbowed, unbent, unbroken one. You raise your claws to everyone that comes near or has any intentions of underestimate you. You love the taste of victory more than anything in the world, because you have tasted too much bitterness and sourness in your entire life. There was one time when you knew mercy. But life does not know mercy, does it? Adaptability - you make it your excuse to be cruel.
protective/possessive Your heart has gone colder and colder with the passage of time. The big heart you used to have does not have rooms for everyone anymore. You have lost faith in kindness as those whom you let him had cut you deeper than you had ever imagined. So many people have come and gone. Not many that chose to stay. And it causes your arms to wrap around the stayers tighter than ever for fear that you will lose them all one day. And you will not stand for anyone take away or hurting what you hold dear. Likewise, you will not let any betrayers live peacefully unless they have paid a proper price for making you suffer.
sarcastic/disrespectful Things in the world seem rather meaningless to you. The only reason for you to go on is your brother and yourself. Therefore, you would not hesitate to do anything to make him and yourself happy, even if it means getting others' backs up. You are never hesitant to put people below his and your needs. You do not believe in happy endings for good people anymore. Everyone has to fight to be happy, and your way of getting happiness to putting the world down so that you can step up.
insecured Even the greatest superheroes have fears and insecurities. Once in a while, you think of yourself as equal with them. It seems that nothing can bring you to your knees, but no one knows your knees are getting weaker as time goes by. Insecurities surround you wherever you go. The stares of the folk cause you to feel anxious whenever you enter a room. Hardly do you have a good sleep without fears at night. Those fears usually turn into nightmares which you never tell anyone, except Declan. You are dying to feel safe at least once in your life, but darkness has never left you - it has become you.
four memories
the lullaby Your life is tragic. But there was a time when it was not that tragic. You had so little recollection of the days when you could fall asleep and wake up with no fears haunting you. All that you remember about those days is a lost melody which has always been in the back of your head. Somewhere in the darkest corner of your memories, the soft voice of your mother is still sounding and causing your sleepless nights. Good old days. You surely do miss them, but there is no chance you want to go back to them, because you have known what people call "the calm before the storm".
the secrets The lullaby soon kissed you goodbye as Cormac Morag no longer had time for your brother and you. Time became something too expensive to be spared. They must have felt bad about that and believed that they had no other choice. How unfortunate when they happened to be so thoughtful. So thoughtful that they ended up handing their children to the snakes named Bethany and Isaiah, who were accidentally your family. A child trusts everyone she meets. Stupid of her. Stupid of you. If only you had been cautious enough to notice their stares at your brother and you. The sinful looks on their faces did not trouble you once at the time, unlike the way they haunt every dream of yours today. Every touch from their filthy hands, every words from their dirty mouth, every threatening. You have never forgot any of them. No one came to save you. You could not tell Cormac and Morag. But they never had enough time to listen, did they? The secrets were brought to light at last. But the stains can never go away.
the nightmares "Everything will be alright." You told yourself that for years. And nothing had been alright since the trauma. During daylight, you did everything in your power not to recall the suffering and the humilation. But they all came back to you at nights, when your eyes were closed and the darkness covered your soul. You usually woke up with a desperate scream every night and an idea of running away. Drowning in a sea of fears and desperation, you frantically tried to find something to hold on. And it was always in Declan's arms that you found safety and serenity. From time to time, his room became yours, too. At least you were never alone there.
the hogwarts The year before Hogwarts was a nightmare, because Declan was not by your side anymore. You were all alone and afraid. Waking up alone, going to bed alone, facing the past alone, you slowly learned to be strong. You grew tougher and more bitter with the passage of time. You cried less and less until one day, all of your tears turned into stone. You heart went frozen. And you knew you were ready for the world. The day when you got on the train to Hogwarts was one of the happiest days of your life as you could be with your brother again. However, you did not hide behind him anymore. You walked with him, side by side, showing him a strong girl you had become. Though you did not show, it was a huge disappointment to you that you were not sorted in the same house as Declan's. Nevertheless, you tried to spend time with him as much as you could, so that you could protect him.
three names
declan Aside from yourself, the person you care for the most is him. Declan has always been there for you since you were born. Never has he left you alone, facing the world alone. Even if he cannot come to you, he still makes you feel safe. His presence seems to brighten everything in your life. You love him dearly, in a way no one can understand. You do not need anyone to understand as it would be too much to ask from those whose lives are a constant without twists or pain. The bond between Declan and you are so strong that it becomes impossible for you to let anyone come between you and him. You know your feelings better than anyone. And you know that your feelings for Declan are the purest love of a sister to her brother, even when people call them "incest". They can never understand that bond, unless they have gone through the same trauma as yours. The folk will not change, no matter what you say or do. And you have no embarrassment in showing them how much you love your brother. You will not step back just because they want you to. He is someone you cannot lose. You can lose everything, except for him.
cormac You were once a daddy's little girl, following your father around all day, calling his name just to make him smile at you. You used to love him so much, until he let you drown alone. When you needed him the most, he was nowhere to be found. You blame him for everything - your humiliation, your hatred, your desperation and your existence, too. Cormac has making efforts to make it up for you and your brother since the secrets were revealed. You have never given him a chance. You go home reluctantly at Christmas and try to leave as soon as possible. You cannot remember your last conversation with your father. But you have no intention of recalling it, or making a new one. When you reach the age of eighteen, the first thing you will do to celebrate your birthday is moving out.
morag Your mother has always been the one to care about you the most. You know she never stops blaming herself for letting you and Declan get hurt. Neither do you. You saw her tears and her compunction. But it is too hard for a frozen heart to learn to forgive again. Whenever you want to forgive her, you end up telling yourself that forgiveness cannot change the past. Besides, you do not need her protection anymore. There is one thing you will forever be grateful to her - that is her giving you a chance to be strong.
two fears
declan Funny when your strength becomes your weakness and your fear. Of course, you do not fear Declan. But you are afraid of losing him. That very thought causes you to shiver everytime you think of it. For so many years, he has been your comforts and strength to move on, to deal with life's cruelty. You are scared to death by the idea of not having him around anymore. Who would you come to when darkness falls? Who would tuck you in and tell you everything would be alright? No one. Maeve - a loner that fears being left alone.
compassion An underdog has the pride of an underdog. You want no sympathy from the world. But it has seemed to come to you more often after your trauma was known to everyone. Faking mercy and faking kindness. They belittle you - someone who has felt little enough. All of the walls you built up to keep people out - what will you have left if they are broken? Keep yourself from kindness, that way you can keep yourself from your breaking point.
